Review Sweet Chick - New York City

Walked in without a reservation on a weekday for brunch. We were seated right away. It's a casual brunch spot. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food took a while to come out but it was delicious.

Great fried chicken sandwiches and all day chicken and waffles. Thought that everything was super well flavored and came out hot and fast. The server was also incredibly kind as I was waiting for my party, and he looked after me/offered me drinks as I was waiting. Would highly recommend for a lunch/brunch given the menu options and the beautiful windows/seating options.

My wife and I ate here today for the first time and I can TRULY say, and my wife agreed, it was the BEST chicken tenders we have ever had! They were amazing! The fries and Mac n cheese were also delicious. The service was also top notch. We highly recommend giving them a try! ***UPDATE*** We loved it so much, we decided to come back the next morning and try brunch. We both got the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit with hash browns. I also tried the blueberry waffles. Again, everything was absolutely delicious!!!

The most delicious… Tender… Seasoned… Crispy Bone in chicken :) Delicious waffles. Literally the best around and probably the best in the state. The loaded fries are also delicious!!! Really reasonable pricing

The bone in chicken with the soy honey sauce was tasty together with the waffles! I went on my own and I had to wait a little bit for a seat on the bar and a little bit more for someone to get my order (I actually went to ask someone my order). The sauce was strong so next time I’ll order without it and just use syrup instead.

Loved this place! This was my first time to a Sweet Chick but got the OG chicken sandwich and shared loaded fries as well as the hush puppies with others. The sauce paired with the hush puppies was bomb and the herbed mayo on the OG sandwich was clutch. The fried chicken itself was great though maybe just a touch too salty. I got to try my friend's waffles as well and they were delicious! Honestly there was so much more on the menu I wanted to try so I'll definitely make my way back there at some point.

My son and I came here because Katz's was crazy busy. This place is amazing. The food is so good. I grew up outside of Nashville, so I had to order the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich with potato salad on the side. Flavor and heat are on point, and the potato salad was amazing. My son had the chicken and waffles, and cleaned his plate. Would definitely recommend.

TLDR: Great chicken, fast and easy. We, a party of three, decided to grab some grub at around 1-2pm on a Monday. The restaurant was empty, with maybe one or two other parties inside the space at any given time. The bartender/cashier let us know we could seat ourselves wherever we liked and informed us that a QR code substituted for waitstaff. My friends found the website convenient and efficient. However, I experienced problems with loading the website, so I went back up to the bar area and told the cashier, to which she immediately replied with a “no problem” and helped me place my order at the physical register. She had a friendly and good attitude. We ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles, Classic Chicken and Waffles, and a Nashville Chicken Sandwich, which was priced at 16 for the waffles and 10 for the sandwich. The food was brought to our table by a friendly chef (?) after a wait of around 5-10 minutes. The sandwich came alone but as a huge piece of hot chicken squashed between two small buns and a healthy amount of pickles. The chicken was pretty spicy, although it wasn’t anything that could cause hours on the toilet. The breading was crispy and crunchy and the chicken was juicy and tender. The sweet pickles and bun went very well with it. I thoroughly enjoyed it, although my eyes watered just a little. From what I could gather the bone-in chicken and waffles were great as well, although my friend who ordered the Nashville variety was dying of spiciness from one piece, which he said was hotter than the other. I didn’t try so I wouldn’t be able to confirm. It was relatively dark, especially where we sat in the back, but the walls were decorated and the ambience established a cozy setting that I enjoyed. The restaurant does offer outdoor seating if that’s not your style. Overall, a laid back spot for some great chicken. Would recommend and revisit, especially after seeing the unnecessarily long line at Katz’s just down the block. Come to this joint, people!!

Randomly stopped here because we were hungry and it didn’t disappoint. I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was flavorful and juicy, crispy, and cooked perfectly. The waffles were delicious as well. Fluffy and lightly dusted with powdered sugar. A friend had the biscuit which was pretty tasty as well. I’d definitely eat here again.

Juiciest chicken I’ve ever had in my life! They have berry and lemon flavored butter for the waffles. The honey garlic chicken tenders are delicious! The power slaw is small but hearty and fills you up quick. The sweet chili glazed chicken sandwich was tasty and juicy and very well cooked! 5 stars

I dined in recently and got me the Nashville Hot Chicken & Waffles. The chicken was real spicy the way u expected. Waffles were a little crispy and sweet. This is the second time I had sweet chick in a row and they got it with the chicken and waffles. Go try it for yourself. The atmosphere is valid. Nice date spot or take your family out to eat vibes.

Good chicken. Good Waffle. But not great together. Two pieces of chicken, 4 quarters of a whole waffle for $16. The chicken breading is simple but good. Nothing ordinary. The waffles were flavorful and perfectly cooked. The butter they provide you with was great. Strawberry and regular butter. The loaded fries were good. It’s called loaded fries but in reality is just coated. The mac and cheese was different but in a good way. The drinks are pretty expensive. A regular lemonade can run you $6. Customer service was great. Street parking only. In my opinion this place is only worth a 1 try visit.

Amazing! One of my favorite brunch spots in New York. Fantastic menu of delicious dishes, sides, and drinks. I've had the pleasure of the dining at the Manhattan & Brooklyn locations and consistency follows. Some great food everytime. The staff is always welcoming and deliver a great customer experience. Their fried chicken is some of the best I've had in New York. My favorites are the blueberry muffin waffles, the chicken sausage, egg & cheese buttermilk biscuit, hashbrowns with Good Good sauce, and the fried chicken. If you haven't tried Sweet Chick, you're definitely missing out.

Horrible waiting time, exceptional Pancakes. Let's get the ugly stuff out of the way first: I went to the shop right at the opening time. The staff wasn't ready yet and I had to wait until someone showed up at the counter. He told me to order via a Qr Code printed on the tables, if it's not a take-out order. So I went back outside and tried it, but the system wasn't working at all. I went back inside, waited and when he was back at the counter I told him and he took my order. After I ordered I had to wait another 50 Minutes until I got my food, although it wasn't really busy and I was the first or second costumer of the day. Now to the good part: I got the chocolate chip banana pancakes (collaboration with tony's chocolonely) and they were amazing. One of the best pancakes I have ever had. Perfect taste, consistency, temperature, everything. Although the waiting time was way to long I will come back and try some of their other food. The staff was nice. There was a restroom, inside and outside seating available.

Very popular on the weekends but totally worth the wait! Best chicken and waffles I've ever had in my life. so many options. The chicken is so well done and the waffles are super fluffy. I got the classic and a side of fries. Everything was so good along with their coquito!!!! Must try. Great customer service and everything is ordered through your phone. Def try to get there early to avoid the crowds. I think they should text or call when the table is ready because I had to Bob in and out of the restaurant to check to see if my table was ready. Other than that everything was delicious! Must try.

The food is delicious, the service is great and the place is really cozy. I ordered the “brunch” (waffles with fried chicken) and they brought three flavored butters which were delicious. Plus, you get to choose if you want classic or flavored waffles and there are many options. I choose the apple cinnamon and loved it! My friend ordered the waffle chicken sandwich and was also really happy with it. The shoestring french fries were fantastic! We would love to come back.

Always a great and easy dinner/lunch spot. Great place to take family or friends for a cheaper dinner when they come visit. Also great location and really filling! We got the honey soy and buffalo chicken.. both delicious

Came in with a party of four on a Saturday night for a late dinner (10 pm) and the kitchen was still open. We were all pretty exhausted so I’m glad the food came out relatively quickly.<br/><br/>I ordered the fried chicken with a bacon cheddar waffle. I was expecting the chicken to be dry, as white meat tends to be but it surprisingly wasn’t. The waffle was also great. It had just the right amount of flavor. I’m normally not a huge fan of waffles but I pretty much ate all of it.<br/><br/>My friend ordered the chicken parm (from the specialty section) and after trying his, I wish I had gotten that. Obviously, it’s not the best chicken parm I have ever had but there was something about pairing it with a waffle that made it unique and interesting. <br/><br/>Wouldn’t mind coming back to try some of their other specialties, like the Nashville hot chicken or Cordon Bleu.

They keeping opening up new locations for good reason. This place is taking off! Absolutely the best chicken and waffle spot in the city! The chicken is perfect, juicy, plenty of flavor and nice size portions. Ask for two breasts! More to enjoy at no extra cost! Nashville chicken is my fav but all of them are great! The mac and cheese is good too! It can get busy here so plan on waiting for a little bit. Middle of the week is the best time to avoid long waits on the weekend.

Best waffles I've had in a long time with an incredible variety of delicious butter. Bacon waffles and chicken cannot disappoint. Food is 10/10. Service is fantastic, attentive and friendly. Unlike the Williamsburg location, the Sweet Chick on Ludlow isn't as crowded and I was able to enjoy a nice quiet dinner.

Our next stop was Sweet Chick on the LES, which is one of Williamsburg’s favorite fried chicken spots.<br/><br/>Here the buttermilk-fried chicken is brined for 24 hours and then double dredged using spices the second time round and then fried to a perfect crispness. I tried a breast piece and thought it was really good. The crunch on the piece was perfect but I will say that there was something in the spices they used which had a bit of an after taste. However, overall it was a relay great piece of chicken.

Oh Sweet Chick, how I love thee! Just one visit was enough to make me fall in love with the peach and Sriracha fried chicken on top of my waffles! Combo was first rate! Menu is simple but different. It's great that you can mix and match because the broccoli waffle for the general tso's meal was a bit strange. Tasted good but the chunks of broccoli were strange. The donut ice cream sandwich for dessert was the kicker! I don't normally like donuts but this was perfection of lemon donut and vanilla ice cream and lavender icing. Yummy! Portions are ample, prices are decent and the food is fantastic. Definitely one of my favorites now.

Sweet Chick specializes in Southern comfort foods and is famous for their chicken and waffles. They do a nice job of balancing rustic and modern, and their space has a fun, cool vibe. Bonus: they have vegetarian fried chicken for non-meat eaters like myself. P.S. Sweet Chick has a secret menu — just ask your server! It’s not available for weekend brunch though.<br/><br/>During dinner hours, you can choose from six different types of waffles. For weekend brunch, it’s just the classic Belgian waffle.I wouldn’t normally think to order waffles of any sort, but I was very happy with these. The vegetarian fried chicken is the best meatless fried chicken I’ve had in NYC. Top notch high quality seitan, juicy, tender, stringy. Perfect balance of savory and sweet. I’m happy to announce that I lost my chicken and waffles virginity at Sweet Chick! Read more >>

This past weekend, a crew of us food folk planned to hit up a couple of the downtown spots for the first installment of a Lickin’ Chickin’ food crawl.
Bitches Who Brunch
We were thrilled when Sweet Chick invited us to try the newly opened LES outpost of their chicken and waffle empire, and both jumped at the opportunity to treat ourselves mid-week. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, as Ally and I both arrived suffering from our impromptu indulgences from the night prior and were craving some fried food. There is no better cure for one-too-many than a hearty soul-food filled brunch like what you’ll find at Sweet Chick. I walked in overheated and unbalanced from my evening out, yet I found myself immediately comfortable thanks to the relaxed vibe. The Brooklyn-esque atmosphere spills out onto Ludlow from oversized windows, making the cozy restaurant even more inviting. W

We also ordered the Sweet Chick Bucket, which consisted of 3 pieces of fried chicken, collard slaw, and buttermilk biscuit.<br/><br/>It was surprisingly good! I managed to eat 2 and a half pieces of chicken with a whole lotta waffles; my favourite would probably be the Buffalo fried chicken (that blue cheese!).
