This eatery is my ideal spot. Of all eateries I realize I like it most. I generally recommends to my companions to go to visit this spot. At whatever point I want to have a unique supper, this café comes directly to my psyche. amazingly great and differed nourishment and an enormous menu.well mannered group, and great soul. Additionally significant, the duty is humble. I acclaim this café with no dithering.

When I first moved to NYC, Blue Ribbon was the first sushi restaurant I granted myself. The location, the atmosphere, the service, the food, nothing has changed over the last 10 years I become a customer. I normally go for the Mixed Sushi/Sashimi set, giving me a huge variety of tastes. In addition I order a green tea and Miso soup, when hungry a Spicy Tuna Roll. The price/value is good. Blue Ribbon is always in my foodie heart :-)

We had received an email from a New York based friend of ours who recommended that we try out Tomoe Sushi (which he considered to be the most underrated sushi in NYC). We walked over to Tomoe only to find it closed. Disappointed, we started walking around looking for a place to eat and we stumbled upon Blue Ribbon Sushi (and thank God for that!). Hands down, the best sushi I have ever had. The fish melt in your mouth. The staff are refreshingly very Japanese in their mannerisms (which adds authenticity). The sake was also just right.

We ordered the following (all amazing):

Wakame;

Oshitashi;

Maguro Tataki;

Maki Combo 2;

Temaki Honnin;

Spicy Tuna Special; and

Spicy Crab.

You cannot go wrong with this fantastic restaurant.

An adorable no-reservations sushi place.
We sat at one of the cozy tables in the back room.

The most unique thing was the make your own hand rolls as well as mixing your salmon tartare.
It’s such an experience, & was my first at a restaurant.

Extremely fresh sushi. Will transport you to the other side of the world.

Definitely recommend.

Most of the places in this area are quite expensive but we thought it was pretty reasonable here. One thing I liked is it wasn't very busy. Just seems like the place has mostly regulars which made the experience more interesting. The food was fresh and excellent. If you are new I recommend the "Chef's Choice." It came out pretty fast and there was plenty to eat between the two of us. The waitstaff was a little slow but she was super friendly. I also thought the atmosphere was really cool. It seemed like an authentic Japanese sushi shop. Next time we visit we'll definitely stop in again.

Great food, great service, and great location! Loved the bonsai tree omg!!

It was a bit chilly for us to be seated in the booth; there seemed to have a gush of wind blowing at us the entire time.

It was over $125 for four of us with no alcoholic drinks.

But we would definitely go back there agin! Highly recommend it!

This restaurant is so expensive so be sure to go prepared to spend! Try their spicy scallop and smelt roe roll. It's so delicious, and I've never seen anything like it in other sushi restaurants.

In February I boarded a plane and jetted off to New York for a very quick visit. My favourite city, after London Town, I always get excited when visiting the ‘city that never sleeps’. Even though it was bloody freezing, I wasn’t going to let this ruin my trip.

Everyone knows, or should know that tapas and sushi are my top things to eat. After scoffing half decent tapas on the Saturday, I decided to go to Blue Ribbon Sushi on the Sunday evening, which came highly recommended by friends and my hotel. The Blue Ribbon brand opened their first eatery ‘Blue Ribbon’ in 1992 by chefs and restaurateurs, Eric and Bruce Bromberg. Blue Ribbon Sushi was opened later, on the same street in New York, collaborating with sushi master, Tishi Ueki.

As the sun went down, temperatures plummeted to what I can only describe as arctic conditions, and I was extremely grateful Blue Ribbon was only one block away from the hotel. Even with this short distance, I got my jog on as I could feel my thighs starting to freeze and I didn’t want to become New York’s latest tourist attraction; Frozen Brit.

Tucked away on Sullivan Street we were shown to our seat, which was located around the sushi bar where all the food is prepared and served. Straight away some warm sake was ordered to warm the cockles.

As usual a bowl of edamame beans was ordered whilst we supped our sake and scanned the menu. These were soon followed by some crispy salmon skin rolls, which were very tasty and had a great flavour to them. Spicy crab rolls were very good, which had a nice subtle kick balancing out the sweetness of the crab. Striped jack, mackerel and red snapper sushi were all extremely fresh tasting, some of the best I’ve had, especially the snapper. The prawn rolls, handsomely presented were another bite sized portion of goodness. We finished off with some home-made pork dumplings. These little steamed parcels of joy were nice and juicy and a far cry from some rubbery, chewy and bland dumplings I’ve unfortunately had in other places. A good option to finish on considering I was going to be back in the arctic conditions shortly after.

The team here were great and extremely friendly and it was fun watching the chefs at work. Whenever I fancy sushi now Blue Ribbon always springs to mind, unfortunately, with the Atlantic between us I have to go elsewhere. But, on my next visit to NYC I will most definitely be returning. As I stepped out in to the cold and ran back to my hotel, before the frost bite set in, I got into bed and thought about the great food I had just scoffed and dreamt of warmer climates and let my body thaw.

Good experience. I really, really, really love sushi and sashimi and this place hit the spot on most of the dishes I ordered. The fish was fresh, no funny tastes or smells here. You will wait because of their no reservations policy. I had probably 70% good and 30% ehh so-so.. I'll probably try some new places in the city next time but this is much better than most so I'll be back.

Late night sushi. Open 4pm-4am 7 days a week...you know they are cool....

they dont take reservatons--which makes the crowd inside very local and/or sushi fanatics.

Hang out in the dimly lit 'waiting area' and order some hot sake and the assorted pickle plate--yum.

The wait has never been as long as they say...i like it when the 1am crowd comes in on Sat nights and its super lively inside and the heat gets turned up--makes me feel like I am , well not in NYC.

Everything is good. Its not Morimoto, but its the nbest casual sushi place in the city-i think. The wooden seating and benches and long lanky dining room that extenda for miles...is very cool.

One Of My Favourites. I really like going here for a Japanese Dinner. The food is really good, the atmosphere makes for a really fun date. If the wait for a table is long, give them your mobile number and go to the Cub Room for a drink and wait for the call.

I’m not sure if this is the BEST sushi in NYC, but it certainly ranks up there in quality and taste. Everything was made well, but I didn’t think that all the rolls warranted the hefty price. Be prepared to shell out some money for your meal. Better yet…come with someone who will pay for you. Don’t forget to try anything with the blue crab! Great service and a friendly, but cozy atmosphere make this a stop I will try again on a future visit to NYC.

This SoHo sushi house takes no reservations, but the wait is worth it. Located on Sullivan between Spring and Prince Sts. Blue Ribbon Sushi is only a couple of steps away from its' sister restaurant Blue Ribbon Brasserie, and yet its a world away. Focused on simplicity and quality, the restaurant is traditionally minimalist in its attempt to replicate Japanese authenticity. Its continued popularity over the years is a testament to its success at delivering high quality food in an unpretentious and friendly environment. To find the restaurant keep an eye out for the Japanese stone writing and small tree that accent the exterior. Once inside you will find yourself in the small waiting room that is usually packed with people waiting for a table to open up. Order a beer, sake, or a cocktail to hold you over; but don't stress the food will soon make up for it. The impeccable service at Blue Ribbon is noticeable from the minuet you arrive. While you are in the waiting room you will be offere

One wouldn’t peg the name Bromberg with ultra fresh sushi. Well the dynamic duo behind the famed Blue Ribbon restaurants have dished up another winner at Blue Ribbon Sushi.

This sushi restaurant is phenomenal. Thankfully we got a table for two without a reservation. It was a Monday night and we were visiting SoHo and NoHo for the night. The appetizers, sushi, and dessert were excellent. It reminded us of a great sushi restaurant my daughter and I visited in Los Angeles. We still talk about the food at that spot and will now be remembering the meal we had at Blue Ribbon Sushi. I really appreciate how much effort they put into finding alternatives or letting me know what I could or couldn't have on the menu, due to my dairy, gluten, and pork allergies. After they pointed out the items that had those items, I couldn't believe how much I've been consuming them at other sushi restaurants. My daughter and I highly recommend getting an excellent meal here. The sushi is memorable.

I went to eat with some friends and we received excellent service, the waitress was in charge of helping us with our order about which was the best sushi. The cooks welcomed us in a very pleasant way. We ordered sushi, my favorite was California roll and the dumplings were delicious.

They have a few location in Manhattan. This is the Sullivan Street location between Spring Street and Prince Street. It’s located in the middle of the block and it’s in the basement part of the building. They have a little waiting room in the front. There are tables throughout the restaurant and in the back they have a little private table for privacy. At the moment they offer outdoor seating. It’s a big menu with a lot of unique dishes. The signature dish for me is the shrimp tempura roll. It has a taste like I never had before. From all the places I tried around the world. If you ordered a lobster, it comes with a creamy dipping sauce that also has a taste that I never had anywhere else but here.

One of the best sushi in town!! The service was unmatched. The only thing that’s tricky is that it’s a really small space so if you’re tall and curvy, it’s a bit uncomfy. They’re also not wheelchair accessible at all.

The best Japanese food we’ve had since in Japan. Sashimi was fresh and sushi rice was so well seasoned. All the dishes were authentic and service was excellent too. Highly recommend this place. Will definitely return.

Came in for lunch and service was great. Got seated early for our reservation and the sushi came out quickly. Cute place and they were busy...but not busy, if that makes sense. We ended up ordering a second round it was that good. Don't recall all the rolls we tried, but they were all good. Even saw a few plates pass by that looked scrumptious as well. Almost asked the server what the table next to us ordered. lol

Came here for dinner at 9pm on a Friday night and the place was at full capacity. You couldn’t get seated without a reservation. The decor was minimalistic Japanese and fit the vibe of the place perfectly. The food and service were also great! We got jasmine tea and it came in a clear glass with the jasmine flower blooming inside the hot water over time. It was beautiful to watch! The sushi/sashimi was excellent and my favorite part was the matcha cream brûlée dessert. Highly recommended!

Excellent sushi and service, felt authentic in every way. I haven’t had sushi this good since Tsukiji market in Tokyo. Menu is substantial, but they had a photo menu available that clearly shows what to expect from each item. Call me basic but when you pay this much for sushi, it’s nice to know what you’ll be getting. The waitress that served us was processional, classy, and stayed out of our way as much as possible which I absolutely appreciate. Fantastic meal to celebrate an important occasion and I highly recommend this place.

Great date spot. We showed up a little early for our reservation but they sat us immediately. Service was great and food came out in no time. We had miso to start which was 10/10 and sushi came once we were finishing. Everything was fresh and absolutely amazing. Oh and the green tea crème brûlée for desert is a must.

Consistently great quality of sushi. Selection of special cuts of fish very impressive (for example: Hokkaido Uni vs Maine Uni). Service was excellent and very knowledgeable of the different types of fish available. Very mindful of certain types of fish that you don't like and they will gladly substitute it out. Drink menu on the tablet very helpful, especially to the novice sake drinker like me who needed a description of each type of sake available. Yellowtail sashimi appetizer with ponzu and jalapeno was excellent. Don't mind paying a little extra for this type of quality food and service.
