Central Grocery Company - New Orleans - Photo album

Central Grocery and Deli was closed for renovations but you could pick up their famed muffeleta right next door at the adjacent liquor store. They probably will be open again by the time you read this. The muffeleta is a huge round sandwich stuffed with Italian meats and dressed with olive salad. I
While Central Grocery is technically closed due to massive hurricane damage, they are still making their great muffulettas and selling them through the shop next door. Looking through the windows they have made great progress on the repairs but appear to still have a way to go before they can reopen
The store front is still closed, but you can easily find the store next door sells them (just read the sign.) Enjoy! * parking can be a bear!
I have been waiting many years to get another muffaletta from here. Central Grocery is undergoing renovations so you have to get your muffalettas from Sidney's Liquor store next door. My husband and I split a whole (prepackaged) sandwich and got 2 meals each out of it. It was as good as I remember
Ok did the pull up delivery and finally got to try a new orleans staple. Central grocerys muffaletta sandwich. The sandwich was delivered properly packaged and it smelled absolutely delicious. I waisted no time cutting into the sandwhich to try a bite. The olive salad really came through on the fir
The store was not open due to construction when we were in town. But they did have their sandwich being sold at Sidney liquor next door. So we stopped in an got one. It was amazing and is what makes me want to be back in New Orleans lol. It is so worth the price the sandwich is huge!!! My husband my
All I know is that I've never been the same since I had a muffuletta from Central Grocery. I wasn't even planning on stopping in but I thank my lucky stars that I did. Not only did I have lunch for 2 days, I also picked up a jar of olive spread and some other goodies. If I ever am blessed enough to
Best muffuletta I've ever had. One sandwich was two meals for me. I've tried to recreate this sandwich at home and I can't do it. Can't wait to go back!!
They were still closed for remodeling (March 2023) so we bought our sandwich next door. The half (plus chips and drinks) was enough for the two of us to share. The sandwich was delicious and not soggy despite being pre-packaged and chilled.
So when we went it was still closed and you had to buy it cold and prepackaged from the liquor store next door (and from a very hurried and impatient cashier at that liquor store). Still, it was so good I regret not buying a whole. We ate it cold and we were in love, so I can't imagine how good it m
We were looking forward to going to Central Grocery and Deli, sadly they were closed for renovations. But we were able to get there famous Muffulettas at "Sidney's" right next door to them. We enjoyed it
The deli was closed due to construction, but the Mufflettas are still available next door at Sydneys. And as usual, they NEVER disappoint!
Home of the ORIGINAL muffuletta. There is no sandwich like it - homemade Italian bread, salami, cheese, olive salad. Absolutely delicious. Pandemic? No worries. The owners are doing a great job with employees wearing masks, social distancing in the dining area, etc.
The original muffuletta! Worth a taste. Granted, it is very oily so prepare to taste a lot of salt and oil. No line in the mornings and on weekdays, with plenty of indoor seating and restrooms inside. Only docking one star because we expected the sandwiches to be prepared fresh but the counter guy h
