Black Penny - New Orleans - Photo album

If you know me you know I love a good dive bar and one did not disappoint. You know you found one when the soap dispenser is a condiment dispenser. The service was great. The drinks were on point. The atmosphere was everything you want in a dive bar. It was great. I highly recommend it.
So I’m not a fan of malort, but the pumpkin flavor they do for fall is pretty fantastic. Great locals bar with a good dive bar atmosphere and drinks.
Great service and tasty cocktails. No food here but the bartender recommended great spots. Near by! Nice spot
Neat atmosphere! My friends and I stopped in quickly after dying from the heat outside and wanting to get a refreshing (non-alcoholic) drink to tide us over. We order lemonade, and it was absolutely delicious. Cold, sweet, and refreshing! Dogs seem to be allowed, which was a bit of a surprise, but
Bartenders are always super friendly and nice even though I don't drink alcohol. The bathrooms are usually stocked and clean, even after busy days, which I know is hard to pull off at a bar. The rustic decor of the bar is really nice to look at and there's plenty of seating. Be warned the bathrooms
This was great! If you want a little more peace and quiet from bourbon street and still get the great atmosphere and drink choices then this is the spot to go.
THEY HAVE MALORT!! I’m so happy. One of the few places to find it outside of Chicago and I am so happy I did.
We stopped by Black Penny on our way to our hotel and were glad to find a change of pace in the French Quarter. A little quieter with a more local vibe and with bartenders willing to take a few minutes to explain the drink menu and give local suggestions. We really liked the vibe!
The new taco pop up at Black Penny is PHENOMENAL! So.so good! Complete with homemade salsa bar. Open late fri & sat. Supports local service industry (we're all in this together right) not to be missed 😋
An excellent spot for craft beers away from the wildness of Bourbon. This is a quiet and safe spot along Rampart, with some outside tables. The staff is helpful and kind, and the beer selection is good. There's a full bar as well if beer isn't your speed. The interior is clean and cozy. (We did not
Super nice staff and a wonderful beer collection. We had everything from local sours to European stouts. Can't stress enough that you should come here if you're a beer enthusiast!
Tons of beer choices... Beautiful Park across the street, and it's true... Rhett's hair is perfect. I don't know him, but guessed it right off the bat. Stopped in for a bathroom break, ended up staying for a couple beers. Prices are quite reasonable, and the awesome breeze blowing through the ope
Great local bar with a open-style saloon type of vibe. Good beer and wine list. Super friendly bartender. The bar is dog-friendly so if that isn't your thing, consider going elsewhere. I loved it. Everyone was very friendly. You can sit at the bar or there are a few large booths to accommodate group
Visited 8/3/22. Seems nice, mostly a huge selection of beer. We were bar hopping, was the last place we hit. Good music playing. The little goth chick bartender was very sweet, I asked for a cocktail, but it's not really a cocktail bar, they have hard liquor, will make you something if you ask, but
We stopped here before heading over to the Voodoo Lounge for our ghost tour. It's tiny but homey feeling, with a ton of great beers offered, including local brews! It was a nice quick stop! They also have fun pop up food trucks/restaurants nightly for food options, so we'll be sure to check that out
Go to this bar, but don't go to this bar. This place has the absolute vibe of a "locals only" place while still being warm, welcoming, and friendly. If I lived in Nola, I'd be here...a lot. I want them to get popular so they make more money, but I also don't so it keeps the vibe in check. I dunno. I
Excellent selection of beers and spirits. The location makes this bar a must visit when coming to town. Louis Armstrong Park across the street and Bourbon Street a few blocks down the road. A few sips taken out of the Old Fashioned pictured...its good strong drink for a rough day.
A baroque, classical dive with elevated options. Service is educated and top-notched. Extensive beer list. $10 minimum is interesting, but understandable. Very easy to invest at least that in this local watering hole. 10 out of 10. Would definitely recommend. ^_^
Cheapest lil bar we found off the strip, but close to the hotel. No gimmicks or over pricing. Wish we had found it sooner.
