Funky Pirate Blues Bar - New Orleans - Photo album

Nice stop for a quick drink. Can only and 1 drink minimum when it's busy. But nice music and nice drinks. Tried the classic hand grenade there.
Good drinks, fun bar, good music. If you want to change it up with some music.. I recommend going here
I really enjoyed the blues band at this bar. Great atmosphere.
Fun atmosphere and the place was quiet during the day but they still had a good band playing some great classic blues covers. I had a hand grenade, their famous souvenir drink, and it was unfortunately far too sweet for me but the rest of the experience was good. I'd come back here again, but would
Always a great time, great place to hear great music
Went here for a social after along day of convention meetings. Cute place with good live music. Our group rented the 2nd floor which has a Bourbon St balcony. Fun to people watch from there. The staff were great and so were the drinks.
This was our 1st visit to NOLA. We just happened to be walking down Bourbon and heard the live music, blues, and decided to pop in. It was exactly what we were looking for in a trip to New Orleans! Drinks were great and the music (Big Al!!) was even better! We will definitely go back.
Go see Big Al and try the hand grenade drinks. The cups are plastic, so they can be taken oh Bourbon St, unlike the glass hurricane cups
The service was great! The beer was cold and the server pointed out it was cheaper to get a 24oz beer on happy hour. I appreciate that. The band Kim Carson and the Real Deal were really good.
While walking on Bourbon this bar stood put among the other ones with live music, we didn't have to pay and the blues band performing was amazing. They don't allow you to take photos or videos which I loved because it let's you focus on the important thing .... The MUSIC! Will definitely be back.
Amazingly cold beer! A much needed item as it was quite humid when we visited. We visited during the day and it was quiet but the bartender was friendly. The atmosphere was comfortable and we had a good time.
Big Al Carson. Glad I got to see him once again. I introduced my kids to the Blues listening through the window while standing on Bourbon street. Great place. You know they have a small courtyard. It needs to be straightened a little btw, but a nice place to grab a smoke. Favorite place on Bourbon
Do you really need to know more? There was a totally awesome blues band playing, and I'm sipping on some whiskey. They let smoking go on in here, but, no cigars. I don't smoke, but, I will deal with a few cigarettes if there are fans blowing or a breeze. The staff here were very nice. Prices were sl
Been there 3 times and enjoy the bar and the Blues live performances. 1st time there in 2013, Al Carson, a well known New Orleans blues singer was performing and graced his audience with charm and fun along with his wonderful singing voice. In 2016 I went to the Funky Pirate and Al was not performin
Great service, fun place fantastic music..
The Funky Pirate has a special place in my heart. It's the first bar I ever went to in New Orleans. They had an actual pirate band from the UK. Totally cool! I was hooked. Helps that I love the Hand Grenades and the Hurricanes. Great memories. What can I say? I'm a mush. I've enjoyed other live musi
I had a great time here on a recent trip to NOLA. We were looking to hear some live music and swung by based on other reviews and a desire to stay in the quarter that night. Big Al was fantastic and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. So many people are looking for the BEST jazz/blues/bra
Rolled into town and found the funky pirate near the end of the strip. It was the only bar with a live blues band. We went there two times during the week and both times were great. My compliments to the bartenders, especially Kae.
