That was the first time I tried alligator meat. It was way better than it sounds...it tastes more like chicken.
And the grilled oysters were the best I have ever had in the US. I don't like raw ones (I didn't order here) and these creamy ones are really my favorite!

Amazing haft shell fresh and grill oyster with crab. Very good cocktail sauce. I don't like the oyster shooter here. It's not tasty and has too much alcohol.

Food was great! We had the New Orleans sampler, etouffe and charbroiled oysters and they were really good. Place also reminiscent of an old NOLA diner. It's just too dark inside that it felt dingy.
There was a wait, but it's worth it. The oysters are amazing. We tried them both ways, fried and charbroiled. Some other stuff we tried. Boo boo shrimp,coleslaw, hush puppies, jambalaya, French fries. All were good.
The oysters blew me away!! They are huge, smooth and succulent. Goes down so smoothly. They are so plump! Must visit for Oyster lovers. The interior is very cool, good vibes. The bartender was so sweet.
All I can say …. Is WOW! I loved every bit of food I tried at this restaurant. I beat the line by getting there at opening, and I can see why they get busy. First time trying alligator and there was not one piece next. The po boys were a perfect portion, and the cheesecake was worth feeling stuffed
One of the best meals I've ever had! The charbroiled oysters and the boom boom shrimp were unreal. Bartender was also on point with some great drinks too. I love fine dining and have enjoyed great restaurants all over the country but New Orleans is always strong and Acme was perhaps the best meal I'
TLDR: Yes, it is worth the wait. Char-broiled oysters, 100%. Instead of waiting for a table, if you're down for the bar - you'll get seated much faster.
ACME is somewhat of a must try destination in NOLA. We waited a bit even coming for dinner on the earlier side but well worth it. As I mentioned,

Very cool bar. I recommend getting. A seat at the bar if possible. I came here for the oysters, and they did not disappoint. They also have a nice selection of local beer on tap. It's well worth a visit if you like oysters.
