Great place, staff, and the food was amazing!! If you like New Haven this place is a must stop just for the history and beautiful architecture
I love this restaurant! The name comes from the river ROIA that runs between France and Italy. The style of the food is based from this area. The food is delightful and beautifully plated. The staff is very knowledgeable about the food and wine and knew exactly what would work well with our meal. After our meal, the Chef who is also the owner came to our table to ask how our meal was. Now that is 1st class. Eat at ROIA and you won't be disappointed!

Fabulous Food, Excellent Service. Coming from Australia & not quite familiar with the local food & service style I wasn't sure. However our waitress was patient in explaining the menu to us & made excellent suggestions.

This was my first time dinning at ROÌA. The food was exceptional. The wait staff attentive and the owner/chef very active in his business and making sure his guests are enjoying their visit. The atmosphere is stunning and adds to the experience. Will be returning to ROĪA and recommending this eatery to friends.

Excellent service, food and staff who are both professional and warm at the same time. The menu always has something surprising and delicious. The pasta we had was homemade; light and delicious and not something I would make at home. Beautiful setting. Never disappoints.

Throughout our wedding weekend, we wanted to show our guests the “best of New Haven”. Our guests moved around the city for each event seeing our favorite spots, but ROIA Restaurant was certainly the best of the best. Our wedding ceremony and reception was truly one of a kind due to the amazing efforts of everyone at ROIA. We cannot begin to thank Nicole, Meera, and Avi enough for their time, accommodation and attention to detail throughout the entire planning process. While the nostalgic ambiance of ROIA cannot be beat, it was the positive energy and love that came from the entire ROIA team that made our night so special. All of our guests marveled at the attentive wait staff, rarely waiting for anything. Avi's passion came through on each unique dish. Meera's professionalism and calm demeanor kept the night running smoothly, while letting us enjoy every moment with our guests (and each other). We cannot say enough about Nicole's skills. She asked all of the right questions to ensure our day went smoothly and to ensure nothing was forgotten. We couldn’t have dreamed up a better evening for our wedding. ROIA will continue to have a special place in our hearts.

I was here this past weekend and all I can say is that we had an incredible experience. The food was absolutely amazing, the ambience was perfect, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect for the wedding
Very cool looking place. This place used to be part of the Taft Hotel and looks absolutely awesome. It's multi floor, has a nice wood bar, good food, and can even accommodate wedding size parties.

While researching a location for our wedding, we knew we did not want a traditional wedding hall. Excellent food and ambiance was also a must. Deciding on ROIA was such an easy decision and they delivered! We had a small, family only wedding hosted on the upstairs balcony on the Saturday during Memorial Day weekend. The care and attention provided to us as a couple through the planning process was exceptional. As small as our wedding was, the details and time ROIA put into making sure our day was perfect, did not go un-noticed. We felt a great connection to married owners Avi and Meera, and they understood the importance of making our night so special. The restaurant itself is so visually stunning with the grand high ceilings, original columns, and molding throughout, with a true feeling of romance. There is no comparison of this kind to any other spot in New Haven. ROIA made sure that we were cared for and that the whole evening flowed seamlessly. Our family was blown away by the beauty of ROIA, the food, and the drinks. We will forever be grateful to the ROIA team for making our special day so perfect. We can’t wait to come back for anniversaries, special occasions, or any random day to reminisce of our wedding night.

My friends and I went to Roia for a nice dinner, and we were blown away by the incredible food and service. It's an absolutely beautiful space, and the atmosphere was lovely. The waiters were all highly attentive, and were just wonderful people to interact with; they were friendly, charming, and very knowledgeable about the food and wine selection. The food itself was delicious and presented beautifully--I recommend the leek salad--and the desserts were to die for. I have nothing negative to say about this restaurant! I highly recommend it if you're looking for a nice dinner out in New Haven.
Had a really nice meal here after a night out in New Haven. They have a great location, and the interior is beautiful. A really nice old building. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Have to say the grilled octopus appetizer stole the show. No doubt we will return.
