Had an awesome lunch today. Started with a paddle wheel which had a plate licking butter frosting on top. Ate dessert first just because. Then the spicy shrimp sandwich and Thai crunch salad. Lori and I split and worked out perfectly. So many great flavors and a nice portion. ��
Amy has done amazing things to this cafe! Wonderful food, drinks, and atmosphere. I will always recommend visitors to New Freedom to eat at the Rail Trail Cafe! For a well rounded, delicious breakfast- try the Bindle wrap!
We had a wonderful meal here this today!! The food was fresh and flavorful! The friendly staff were incredibly accommodating. This charming little cafe is a must try, even if you aren't local!! You'll love it!
Just finished eating here and it's amazing! I had my young daughter so I decided to get something simple that were could split; I picked the Honest Abe. I honestly didn't have high hopes since it was just an egg, sausage and potato wrap. How good could something so simple really be? Apparently, it can be crazy good! Mind blown! This will be my new go to place for outings with friends and family!
After a 5.6 mile walk on the Heritage Rail Trail, stopped in for lunch at the New Freedom Rail Trail Cafe. I cannot say enough about the food here. I have not been disappointed. But the Thai crunch salad maybe my favorite. Thumbs up.
Outstanding food prepared by an exceptional chef! This is New Freedom PA's and surrounding areas best kept secret if you ask me.

The coffee and espresso drinks are so fresh I love them more than the big chain! Shop local instead and have an amazing baked item, breakfast, or lunch! I’m happy they have vegetarian options my daughters. The staff is friendly and kind. Quaint historical building. What’s not to love? Warning: challa cinnamon rolls are addicting and I rarely like sweets!
I just enjoyed one of Amy's wonderful pumpkin muffins, so good!! And I love the "chai on crack" when my soul needs a warm up :)
Wonderful lunch today! My mom and I stopped by for a quick bite, and it was great! We had the chicken salad and shrimp salad. Ate every bite! Carol and Danielle are very friendly and welcoming!
I had the “Honest Abe” and Dan had the “Tourist Boxcar” and two cinnamon roles and lots of coffee �! Such a fun ambience, nice people and the food tastes great! The owner is awesome!

My wife and I stopped here for a quick bite while riding the trail, from MD to PA and back to Md. We hit the cafe on the way back. Very friendly staff, they found US outside as we enjoyed the warm summer sun and breeze, while we became people watchers! FYI, I thought I was just getting a Hobo wrap, but that popcorn you guys have is awesome! It came with my wrap! *BONUS!* I've told a lot of my cycling friends about the trail AND this amazing gem called the New Freedom Rail Trail Cafe. #wewillbeback.
Great chicken sandwich & lemonade on a hot day. 2 of us rode the trail from New Freedom to York Downtown center. A very nice Rails to Trails!
Wow. Great little restaurant in a historic nook in New Freedom Rail Station. Really enjoyed the Freeloader, a falafel wrap thingy.

This little cafe is a local treasure. Everything is fresh and made in the cafe. I really love the wraps, with the veggie one with the weird name my recent favorite (phatty dank). Amy makes it with an apple slaw that is unique and a great combination with the hummus. It is a great “something different” to try. The staff is great!
First time on the NCR Trail. The Italian Ice from Gill-Ice was excellent. Ask for Myra and hear her and Gill's story.
Great food. Reasonable prices. Friendly and efficient staff. Freshly baked cookies, pastries and buns. Owner is a trained chef and baker. Owner and staff pay attention to every small detail. Highly recommend.
Loved, loved, loved the cinnamon rolls. (I think they call them Wheels). Coffee was good and so was the food. I wad also impressed that the all the disposable cups and utensils were recyclable and/or compostable. We came back for another visit the very next day!!
Great place for hungry cyclists to stop for a bite. Hot coffee and great breakfast sandwiches. Friendly staff. Avoid the tables out front in the morning; you’ll bake in the direct sunlight.
Baked goods were absolutely great! The coffee was pretty good too and the staff was very friendly even with the pressure of the current times and the amount of people that were coming in and out of the cafe. I'm actually looking forward to the next time I'm out that way so that we can try the prepared sandwiches and breakfast burritos. Keep it up guys!
Always great food, nice variety. Local business who buys ingredients from other local businesses/farms/coffee/produce/eggs etc. Does have outdoor seating available. Right on the rail trail - great place to stop for a break while biking or walking. Enforces masks if you go inside to place your order.
