Loved Our Stop at David's. We went to David's Delicatessen in New Bourbon for the first time today. One of the reasons for giving them a try was there use of local ingredients. They had an inventive menu. I had trouble deciding! The sweet jalapeno chicken salad with blueberry BBQ sauce looked very intriguing! Three of us loved our big sandwiches: we got the Soylent Green (green garlic hummus, cilantro and pickled veg), David's Ruben, and the Georgia Ruben. The breads were delicious and firm! I don't normally like rye, but theirs is mild and tasty and doesn't assault you with caraway. Fillings were extremely tasty, although, I would have liked more hummus on my sandwich, and none of us could discern the cilantro that was supposed to be on it. The other sandwiches were thoroughly enjoyed and had good amounts turkey or corned beef, cheese, sauce and hand-pickled veg.. We were not so thrilled with the sides. They were small and limited. The choices were broccoli salad, mixed potato salad, and cole slaw. Two of us got the potato salad. While it certainly tasted good, I returned mine as the potatoes didn't get done and were crunchy. The young lady at the counter was extremely gracious, apologetic and quick to offer the broccoli salad I requested in exchange. It was served up in a small portion cup and was good...but, just good. The staff was friendly. The décor was eclectic and welcoming. My brother gave a thumbs up to their iced mocha as they also have various coffees. The bagels certainly looked delicious! The only other suggestion might be to have a little more regular height seating vs. the high backed stools and tables. The deli has limited space, I know; but if the short tables are full, the tall ones can be a little hard on folks with disabilities. Overall, it was a great experience! A little tweak to the sides, and we'd call it an excellent one! We'll look forward to visiting again when we come back to town!
If you're considering the primiere coffee roasters of the United States, one has to consider Intelligensia. I was more than impressed to find that you can now get their coffee and espresso at Davids Delicatessen. With free wifi, and seriously the best damn rubens I've ever had, that puts this place as a must stop for anybody coming this way. Midwest as all-get-out and truly awesome. Keep up the good work guys!...and thanks for carrying Intelligensia coffee
Great Place. Opens at 7:30am MI time. Avoid the hordes at Rosie's. Try the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel w/ bacon or ham. Tasty. Just the right size. Coffee is Intelligentsia, so you know it's great. Free WIFI. This place doesn't try to be something it isn't and ends up being much more than you expected.
Best Place to Stop in NB!. Wow. My family and I were up in New Buff and we came across this place on our way up from the beach. Great food, and, although it first sounds a little pricey, the sandwich itself is huge and loaded with meat. My wife got a Blended Mocha (although it says "deli" we were surprised to find they had Intelligentsia coffee) and she said it was one of the best she's ever had. All in all, all 3 of my younger (5-9) kids loved it, and that's gotta be something to write home about. Looks like we're going back to David's tomorrow!
Charming! Tasty, customizable egg sandwiches. We drove specifically to New Buffalo after reading reviews for this deli. It didn’t disappoint! Sat in the bright window area and watched the world go by outside and all the happy customers ordering inside. Great selection of baked goods. We added an almond and orange iced loaf slice as a breakfast dessert. Yum!
Small local coffee shop/bakery in New Buffalo. Quite busy when we arrived but staff quickly prepared our orders. We only ordered coffees and teas which were good, but the pastries and savory items looked especially good and many people seemed to be enjoying them. Atmosphere is a bit small but could be cozy when not too busy.
BEST sandwiches! Fair prices! VEGAN options 💕 No matcha … but large oat milk Chai Tea for only $6 what else can I say 🥰
Nice little quick breakfast place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a vanilla latte and we also had a build your own breakfast sandwich and a cinnamon roll. The sandwiches were really good but we felt like they needed another egg. So not very filling, which could be a good if you’re in a hurry. It was quick and there is limited seating. It can get busy as all coffee places do, but there is also a small outdoor seating are. More Starbucks feel rather than a diner.
Really cute place, phenomenal breakfast sandwhich! My friend got the reuben and said it was really good. Highly recommended (:
Wow.... best blueberry muffins I've ever ate ...
If your into Reuben sandwiches won't be disappointed options look amazing I plan to come back and try them soon.
I had two of the best sandwiches here today that I've had in years. Love their Intelligencia coffees and the fact that they have really inventive ingredients in their sandwiches...Everything fresh and delicious. Really great spot. Will definitely return. Worth a stop whether youre passing through for a quick bite or staying in the area.
Very cool spot for lunch, coffee, baked goods and more. Staff was super friendly and food was great. Really enjoyed the David’s Reuben and home made oatmeal raisin cookie. Plus, dog friendly tables out front. Definitely will be back!
Super cute place. Very busy but great staff. Food was great, drinks were great with lots of options, coffee, hot chocolate, apple cider. Extremely reasonable prices. Will definitely be back.
Cute sandwich place with lots of choices. If you’re picky, choose the build-your-own sandwich option.
We had coffee latte, lox bagel, Reuben sandwich, and a cinnamon roll, all were very good. The interior is very nice, we sat on their back patio on which they allow dogs
Awesome place for coffee and breakfast sandwiches. The breakfast Reuben was unique and delicious. Street parking out front. Decent line but service made quick work.
Coffee is a little bland but overall pretty good. Staff is very friendly.
Delicious food! My favorite is a toasted bagel with egg and avocado. In summer it can be quite busy, but it is one of my favorite brunch locations. I would come here every day if there weren’t such long waits, sometimes out of the door.
Super cute place! Great food and coffee! Employees always nice and greet you :)
Popular for good reason. Perfect for fresh bagels and coffee in the morning. It would be great to see them put Starbucks (down the street) out of business.
Stopped here during a road trip and was so impressed! It is quaint and has lots of character. The staff were friendly and there are quite a few breakfast and lunch options. The latte was flavorful and smooth and the build your own breakfast sandwich was delicious on a homemade asigo bagel! If you're passing through New Buffalo I highly recommend this spot!
One of my favorite pit stops going through southwest Michigan. The sandwiches are very unique and tasty, and change every week! You can always get a solid Rueben there as well.
