Lydia's Bakery

My husband likes the pops there and I try to go once a week. They freeze well and keep the freshness. The Portuguese pastries are average. My experience with cakes and many of her desserts are not enjoyable. Breads are 100 percent. My now sister in law scheduled a wedding cake tasting. She went alone and tried a few slivers of cake and said she had a couple other places scheduled. She was charged $3.00. It might of been that she did not speak Portuguese. Lol New owners expensive bread is not fresh. Disappointing.. 5/18

While making plans to travel to Boston from out of state, my son highly  recommended extending my trip further & include a stop to Lydia's Bakery in New Bedford. So glad I listened to his advice because Lydia's did not disappoint. The selections were huge & they served  everything from breakfast to dessert including their popular Portuguese pops  and ice cream. I settled on a dozen fresh Portuguese rolls, a vast variety cookies and my first taste of Portuguese sweetbread topped with delicious coconut. Thankfully, the sweet bread wasn't sold by the slice because after my first bite, I definitely was craving more. Looking forward to a return trip when I have more time to sample other items from the bakery cases. I highly recommend everyone visit Lydia's. The trip was very worthwhile and you definitely won't be disappointed.

I love Lydia's bakery. The waitresses are nice and respectful and also quick. My favorite thing about Lydia's is that I can go there to eat in and do my work using there free wifi. I can sit there for hours. Come to Lydia's and have a cup of coffee with a Portuguese pop or a delicious pastry. 🍽️🍮☕🍰🍪🎂🥛🍝🥘🍛🍩🍧🍦🥖🍞🧀🍳🥐🍌🍓🍎🍐🍇🐟🦐🦀🐔🦃🐰🐖🐄🐂👩‍🍳⬅️ and lots more product !! 😳😏😜😍 Thanks to Lydia's bakery, I can enjoy myself!

In my opinion, Lydia's Bakery is overrated.... Don't get me wrong their pastels de nata are outstanding, especially when they're warm, but a lot of their pastries are not made on a daily basis. Their customer service for the most part is unfriendly..... They are rude and have bad customer service skills. I think there's about two girls that have actually smiled at me when I was greeted. Anyway I still go in there because I love their pastels de nata but if it wasn't for that I wouldn't bother

Terrible customer service. The employees are very immatude, don’t have any patience with customers, yelling and bringing food to the table spilling all of the drinks. I once found plastic in my soup, went to ask for a change one of the enployess said it will be another $6.00 i told her no i found it and ut was by you guys. I left and bever went back! Horrible place. Customer service even worst. Don’t even deserve a start
