Good breakfast. I've been twice now and have been happy with the service and food. I have an issue with gluten, so have ordered the chorizo and eggs which comes with beans and rice and then get corn tortillas. It is a huge serving for the price and i can't finish it.

Great break in the middle of the Mojave. Needles is often the place you consider taking a break on your way to wherever you are headed. This is the place to stop. Filled with kitsch from another era to give you a smile. The waitstaff is super friendly. You just know that they have been out here in the desert for a long time. Beer, of course, and they have wine - the selection is small (red or white) but the pour is generous and the price can't be beat. In a place like this, I always get the chicken fried steak (CFS) and this time was no exception. The portions were huge. The CFS was well battered and well fried, the mashed potatoes were fairly smooth, and the gravy was a pale tan and not library paste - how can you ask for more. As with the drinks, prices are hard to believe. There is no doubt you get your money's worth.

Great Truck Stop Diner. This is a great breakfast place. But that's probably because it's part of a truck stop. The cool thing about the Wagon Wheel when you enter this log cabinesque building, is a wall full of trucker's destinations and the distance to them.

This is a very casual kind of place. It's a no frills restaurant but does have a flat screen LCD TV for viewing CNN while dining. The meals are basic and plentiful. The prices range from very cheap to moderate. For instance, you can get a plate of biscuits (2) and gravy and a cup of coffee for only $5. If you want sausage, bacon, or any other kind of breakfast meat, that will definitely up your bill to just over $8.

I went with the cajun sausage and eggs plate. It came with my choice of hasbrowns, home fries, or grits along with toast or biscuit (that is served with gravy but you can ask them for just plain butter if you want). This is a lot of food, which I gladly scarfed down. I was hungry and this hit the spot. The rest of the table ordered the biscuits and gravy or bacon with eggs. They do offer egg substitute for the healthier conscious.

I'd also like to try their lunch and dinner menu another time. They offer up burgers, sandwiches, and hot sandwiches (like monte cristos, grilled cheese, melts, philly steak, etc.). Their dinner selections range from fried appetizers to full course meals like meatloaf, chicken fried steak, ribs, etc. to steaks, soup/chili, salads, mexican food, and two "waistliner plates." Heck, this place even has a salad bar. I'm curious to see what that looks like.

If you're on Route 66 or heading through town on I-40, this is worth a stop to rest your weary eyes from driving and eat a hot, decent meal.

What can I say, EVERYTHING about this place was outstanding! Now I'm Gen X so of course I LOVE old School so this place was perfect for me!! The atmosphere was amazing this establishment was built and opened in 1978. It has the '70s feel all around! This place even had the mechanical horse I used to ride as a kid. All the restaurant Decor was 70's based and older. Even the bread warmer at the line was from the seventies, how do I know this, I used to wait tables and used these exact warmers back in the day! Our server Jamie was so wonderful, attentive, helpful, just a straight-up Delight! I ordered the steak and eggs and everything was cooked perfectly. Medium rare steak, basted medium eggs. Which many people don't get right, basted is a technique that most do not know how to do. My girlfriend had the liver and onions and she absolutely loved it. Now I'd never heard of the city of needles before but I will definitely be back if I'm ever headed to Arizona again. I highly highly recommend this place!

Great place for anytime food. It’s right off the freeway between CA and AZ. Food was delicious and they give large portion. Serving time was quick for even large group of people. My steak and eggs was very nice but the steak was cooked medium rare instead of medium well I ordered. They also served the wrong side but they corrected it immediately after I requested. Restroom was a bit tiny. One of them clogged. Spacious parking space.

If I didn’t live 261 miles away, I’d come back tomorrow and have the same dish again, the Chicken Fried Steak — which is not chicken. It’s beef. Straightforwardly great. Sweet ladies run it. Nicely decorated. A must stop on your road trip.

We stopped by Needles on our way from the Grand Canyon to L.A., and after visiting so many tourist attractions, we wanted to try authentic American food. This restaurant has a good chunk of positive reviews so we wanted to try it out and loved it ! Our waitress was great, unfortunately I can't remember her name. We followed her recommendation on trying the meatloaf and we loved it, as well as the sirloin steaks, she was also really kind and serviceable. The food was great, really different from the burgers we were having all the time beforehand, and fulfilling, we didn't have to eat breakfast the day after, and it was one of the cheapest restaurants of our entire Midwest road trip. If we ever go back to Needles, we'll stop by this restaurant again.

My daughter and I were on an 11 day road trip from Georgia and stopped by the Wagon Wheel for breakfast because we love RT 66 attractions. We arrived after 6am and were not disappointed! Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, plus the food was delicious! They even had a little gift shop where we picked up a few things on the way out! A great introduction to California for us and conveniently located across the street from our hotel in Needles. Must see visit!

Had a great experience stopping here real quick while traveling, very unique and cool place! Had a huge menu. I got the blue cheese bacon burger and a beer and was great! My girlfriend got a chicken fried chicken with a baked potato. Everything was fairly good! The waitress was very pleasant and attentive also. Overall a great place to stop and checkout for a quick but good meal.

On the way home from our vacation, we were hungry & just looked up restaurants in Needles. We came across Wagon Wheel Restaurant. My family & I were pleasantly surprised by how tasty everyone's meal was! We had the Meatloaf dinner, Pot Roast Sandwich, Spaghetti & Meatballs, Burger & Ground Beef Steak. Fresh ingredients, tasty sauces, cooked perfectly. Our waitress was super friendly & informative. The ambiance was welcoming. There's even a small gift shop before you get to the main restaurant. A good place to have a good meal before you're on your way to where you're going.

Love the old west decor of this place. Really gives me that homey, warm vibe. Lots of good classics to choose from on the menu. Staff was friendly. I got the crispy chicken wrap and southwest wrap. Lately, I’ve been really craving one. You get exactly what you expect. The chicken is crispy. The chipotle ranch was delicious. The combo of crispy chicken, cheddar, bacon, and ranch is perfection. Looking at the food spots around the area, this seems to be the best. Definitely recommend for good a American eatery.
