I was having dinner here with my family Wednesday 12/23 in the covered patio when the outdoor heater caught fire/ exploded. I'm still struggling to understand what actually happened it was complete mayhem. My family and I were covered in a black oily substance that smelled like gasoline. The sprinkler system set off at the same time and we ended up ingesting water and whatever fuel source was leaking everywhere. Our clothes jackets shoes handbags hats cell phones were all damaged since we ran out of there trying to save our lives and left our belongings behind. As a pregnant woman my main concern is my child and the amount of this oily fuel substance that was on my skin and that I ingested. Accidents happen, however no one from this establishment reached out to us. We left our contact information and the staff took pictures of our damaged belongings which was $1000s of dollars. Needless to say all 4 of us have reached out to our lawyers. So disappointed in how the owners/managers at The Walrus chose to ignore this life threatening fiasco. Will leave it to the lawyers to prove negligence, and see when the last time was that they bothered to service those heaters. I would avoid this establishment and certainly won't be taking my family here again- clearly safety is not on their list of priorities.

Love this place and almost everything on the menu. The pumpkin soup was a little too salty and not warm enough.

Great dinner choice for my husband's birthday at National Harbor. They were very busy and crowded but had the staff to accommodate. We were even able to take advantage of outdoor seating w Potomac River views and plenty of people watching.
We were greeted by Manal (I think that's her name, that's the name on receipt) and she immediately brought out 2 waters as well as a liter of water to accommodate refills.
We ordered Walrus Wings - House Made Bourbon Hot Sauce, Zesty Chicken Sandwich w a House Salad & Roasted Half Chicken. The wings were good, flavorful. The Zesty Chicken Sandwich was good as well. Hubby mentioned the sandwich being made w thighs and he prefers breasts. Small fix because my delicious Roasted Half Chicken had a breast so I gave it to him for his sandwich and things were perfect.
I very much enjoyed my Chicken Dinner w Brussels and Potatoes. The texture was great and the portion sizes were perfect.
This establishment was very COVID 19 cautious and followed all state manatees regarding social distancing, face masks and sanitizing.
I am very happy that I chose this restaurant for my Hubby's Birthday and would definitely return.

Lobster roll was great. Food selection on menu was slim. My wife didn’t care very much for her dish, which was the shrimp & grits. I tasted her food as well & the shrimp was barely warm. Other than that, the food came out fast & our overall service was great.

The lobster rolls is good. But the waffle is amazing. After tasting a piece of my girlfriend’s corn waffle, I had to order my own corn waffle.
The staff is great and there is outside seating. I would for sure go back The Walrus.

Great experience. Sat outdoors and enjoyed the unusual warm November evening. Food great...service great..:do yourself a favor and try the deviled eggs...it’s quite a tasty experience! You can thank me later:)

My wife enjoyed it, especially the crab cakes. I did not enjoy the flavors of anything I ate. Cedar plank salmon, all I taste is smoke. Swiss chard chewy. Crab meat in appetizer flavorless. Pumpkin soup served lukewarm. Waiter also did not stagger appetizers and entree at all despite trying to clarify that this should be done. It’s not rocket science. Also, the cedar plank was wobbling on a wooden plate, which itself was wobbling on the table, which was also wobbling on the floor. Funny but true. Glad my wife enjoyed. They have some work to do.

Nice well lit storefront. Ambient seating. Friendly staff. Limited selection of dishes. A bit pricey. Delicious food, large alcohol drinks, and desert was sweet. Add more food selection and you’ll get 5 stars.
