Amazing place to eat or shop ! Staff is always friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and unique gifts .
We ate breakfast at this quaint little place. Food was fantastic and the host were very nice. If you like antiques and little nick nacks this is the place to shop.
I heartedly recommend the Nashville General Store & Bakery for a pleasant, tasty lunch. They make everything. I had the d as special, Chicken Salad with a side of Pumpkin Bread. Linda had a BLT on vegetable bread. Yes we will definitely be back and I think I'm going to try their tenderloin. They get it straight from the butcher. Ya gotta try their hospitality and browse the antiques in the store and yes they have baked goodies.
We finally got to enjoy the yummy food at this tucked away treasure. My chicken salad with pumpkin bread was outstanding. The bread was so melt in my mouth delicious, we bought a loaf for home. It was bustling with customers, so finding a spot to sit inside was lucky. But don't let that deter you from partaking of the delightful dishes. We will be returning every time we visit Nashville. Bonus is when you see favorite folks from home....
My husband & I stopped here on a whim looking for a treat. We parked for free just west of the main strip in Nashville then walked to this bakery. I was surprised at all they had to offer; I wanted to try multiple things. The service was friendly. We shared an order of 10 fried biscuits with apple butter and they were very, very good- the best I've had. They were really generous with the cinnamon/sugar coating and the apple butter was great. The biscuits were still warm even. We also got sassafras iced tea and it was refreshing. They also have an indoor back room with tables/chairs so you can sit down. This will be our new stopping place when we go on drives through Nashville. Loved it!
This is a must stop in Nashville! You can't go wrong with the French toast, the fried pork tenderloin sandwich, or the strawberry rhubarb pie! Actually everything I've ordered has been fantastic. And the friendly staff just makes it even more enjoyable!
Best place to shop and eat!! Love it!! They have such a variety of gift items, homemade food, and country goodies!!
My wife and I were looking for some breakfast. It was later in the morning, and we were about to give up on it. We drove down this street, and saw the Nashville General Store & Bakery. Their sign outside said breakfast till 12 noon. We parked and went in. It was amazing!! We walked to the front of the store, ordered, and sit down in the prettiest sitting area on the inside. Beautiful table, and handmade items on the wall. They brought our food to us, and were very friendly. So relaxing. We got up the next morning, and went for breakfast again.
Friendly service and atmosphere! Don't change a thing! Your persimmon pudding was amazing as well.
Went to try the amazing tenderloin sandwich we heard about....BEST we've ever had. Had the chicken salad sandwich and it was also very good.
The store also had some amazing finds. Try it you won't be disappointed.
Just ate the Biscuits and Gravy and sausage patty, wife had the Chicken Salad sandwich everything was excellent, very clean and friendly, highly recommended!
Best chicken salad and pumpkin bread! Tenderloin is good as well!
What can I say, just plain ole good eating. And the deserts are even better.
Never disappointed when we eat here! We try to plan our visit to Nashville to eat here before we start our browsing/ shopping!
Great store great food and pies
EXACTLY the type of breakfast I want when on the road. Me, my wife, and our dog stopped by this place at 9 AM—right when they opened—for a bite to eat before embarking on a hike (we sat outside at one of the tables). I got the bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit. Everything about this sandwich was perfect; the bacon was crispy and thick with a hint of smokiness to it, the biscuit was soft and buttery, the cheese was properly melted, and the fried egg was the right amount of fluffiness. I really appreciate unpretentious breakfast that doesn’t try to combine 17 flavors when these four are all you need. Its simplicity and focus on the quality of each component make for an excellent sandwich. We also got an order of delicious cinnamon donuts balls that came with an apple butter spread. Absolutely get those if you have a couple people in your party and like sweet pastries.
After breakfast, I went inside and poked around the shop for a few minutes to check it out. If you’re into Americana and themed antiques, you’ll probably find something to love in the store. If nothing else, a quick spin around the shop makes for a hearty feast for the eyes.
Great place for a quick breakfast or lunch. Sausage gravy and biscuits, french toast, bacon and sausage patty were all good. Inside or outside seating. You order and pay first. Foam plates and plasticware
Absolutely LOVED this place! The breakfast sandwich on sourdough is a must have. For those with a sweet tooth we recommend the pecan pie warmed up!
Best meal we had on the whole trip! We all got breakfast. Pancakes, sausage gravy with biscuits, French toast, sausage patties, and bacon. Nothing disappointed, but the people who got bacon all wished they'd gotten the sausage.
Counter service, with servers who deliver to the table. Disposable plates, flatware, cups etc. Great value for the prices.
Tons of crafts and artisan goods to look at while you wait, too.
One of our favorite places in town. Whole family has been going there for years. Bread and other baked goods are great.
Real food from scratch is the best food we've grown up with. No shortcuts! Great environment along with great personalities. The food is just as expected - excellent!
We ordered a peanut butter pie (must be peanut butter lover) and it's a 4.5 star - the texture rich & creamy, made with chocolate crust and drizzled with nuts. The whipped topping (loss .5 star) was gross (looks pretty) but was dry. Should be applied after pie is served.
The biscuit and gravy is "okay" it's got to much of a floury taste. Can't put my finger on it - it does taste better with toast rather than the biscuit. So eliminate the biscuit and the gravy is good. It's not your moms...
The sausage was not just a patty but was a hefty portion with great flavor need a knife and fork to cut.
The scrambled eggs were not as awesome as I was expecting but it's scrambled eggs how much could you expect without any toppings within.
The apple butter is out of this world (10 star)!
The chocolate milk is made with (I believe) Hershey's Syrup. It's okay but not as good as you'd hope.
Orange juice is pulp free.
I had breakfast but I'll try lunch hopefully later today.
Overall I loved it! Even though it sounded negative, give them a try.
Staff was very friendly and super nice. the breakfast was very good. I recommend the French toast. Good place to get honey. No bathroom here but the public restroom is close by so no worries. Look around at all the home decor and artwork while you wait for food! When were there it was by far one of the coziest places we ate.
