We were looking for a restaurant that would give us some "home cooking" while we were on a road trip and we came across this place in our search. There was only one worker, but she had a huge personality and made us feel right at home. The food was A1!! The chicken was made fresh when we got there

I came I believe an hour or so before closing so the side dishes weren't fresh. But they did cook my fish fresh. But the food was good.

The food is cheap and delicious. Had the meatloaf, turnip greens and sweet potatoes and I will be returning soon. On top of the food, the service is fantastic. Ohmygosh this place was the most scrumptious place we ate at this trip so far. The baked chicken was to die for, and service was amazing. It's on a busy street and parking is... Interesting. But the food was absolutely wonderful and more than made up for any flaws.

Me and my fiance' have been eating here literally twice a week on average for about a year now. Nothing beats Mama Josie's as far as soul food and home cooking. The atmosphere is so down to Earth. Couldn't ask for better people. Thumbs up all the way !!!

This food was good! They prepared the catfish hot and fresh, and also have specialties every day of the week. Friendly people, mom-and-pop atmosphere, down-home style, and very affordable. I love how they do the meat and three but give you lots of options for the three. Fantastic little gem in Madis
