Kool Runnings Jamaican Cuisine - Nashville - Photo album

I love this restaurant. I’m from NYC, originally, and never expected to find authentic Jamaican food in Tennessee. Years ago, I rented a basement apartment from a great Jamaican couple through a work friend. They all treated me like family, inviting me to eat with them. Having this wonderful, home
1st time here. Food is good but a little pricey. Spent $50 for these 2 plates and 2 Calypso drinks. Overall nice for a little hole in the wall. Not much parking but worth a try.
Ordered 2 meals of the jerk chicken, with sides of mac and cheese, yams and peas and rice. The jerk chicken was tender and so flavorful! All the sides were delicious. Met the owner and we were treated live VIPs. Great experience! Great food! Excellent customer service! I'll definitely be back.
Very polite service to match the delicious food. I had Oxtail, collards, and Mac. The meat was tender and the sides were seasoned and definitely homemade. I can't wait to try the jerk wings!!
It was my first trying their food and it didn’t disappoint. Jerk chicken was flavorful. My sides were rice and peas (topped with some curry chicken gravy) and cabbage. Both were delicious 😋 Will definitely be back.👍🏾
First time experience and it did not disappoint. Food was delicious. Can't wait to go back.
Food , service and atmosphere was great. Definitely a place I will be going back to whenever I’m in town. GT in the house.
Food was great!! The oxtails looked so good i’ll try that next time. The sides were really good and fresh. The chicken was a bit dry and didn’t quite have the ‘jerkiness’ i was looking for but it had a great smoky grilled flavor!!
The oxtails were delicious and the sides are good too. We had Mac cheese, turnip greens, and rice&peas. I can't wait for my next visit.
First time visiting and I was not disappointed. My husband and I stopped by and got full… it was on point with flavor, portion size, & their customer service was excellent!!!
Great traditiona freshl food, served by friendly people - just a bit expensive. We purchased 4 plates, 2 of which were oxtail.
If you are curious about checking this place out do it! The food is really good! The staff if very friendly and hospitable. If you are a fan of hole in the wall joints and love Jamaican food this place is it! This will definitely be on my list of places to eat when I come into town.
We were in the area and this showed up in nearby restaurants. First time trying Jamaican food it was delish!!! Had the jerk pork and the goat curry - large and generous portions Second visit had the rice/peas and oxtail - so delicious and tender. Loved every meat dish, didn’t care for the yam
Real Jamaican people serving real Jamaican food!! Love it. My husband and I both got jerk chicken... One with plantains, the other with Mac &cheese, as well as perfectly flaky beef patties... And I have no complaints! It'd been a while since we've had Jamaican and this really hit the spot. absolutel
Very welcoming atmosphere and people! The flavor of the jerk chicken was amazing. The mild sauce they had on the side had a mango flavor to it and went with the meal nicely. I almost felt like I was back in Jamaica.
I visited for the first time a few weeks ago and was overly impressed. The food was WONDERFUL and they give you nice portions!!!! I'm going back today!!!
I can not express how good this food was. If you are ever in this area, you gotta stop. Even if you are not, you gotta go by and get you some authentic food. You will not be disappointed. I'm just sorry I forgot to get pics. Next time, I will.
