Reviews of Las Palmas Mexican Restaurante

Las Palmas was my FAVORITE restaurant in Nashville. Great food and great service. The best part, though, was the incredible happy hour until 8PM! My boyfriend and I made it a point to go at least monthly, usually after work so we’d get in around 7 and enjoy the happy hour. We just arrived to a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. Happy hour is now ONLY on weekdays, and from 2-5. What’s even the point?!? We’re on the email list and didn’t get any notification of this. Keep the happy hour as a loss leader - it’s well worth it. Update: I'm still disappointed about the restrictive happy hour, but I'm upgrading this from 3 to 4 stars because we've since been back to Las Palmas and the food and atmosphere are always great.

Recommended by the hotel staff. I have been here 4 weeks for work and have passed this place several times and they are always busy. So, I went last night when I got into town, I stopped in and ate. Oh my goodness, this food was so good. I am a creature of habit so, I got a Taco Salad Fajita w/Steak. It hit the spot. I also ordered a Fajita Quesadilla w/shrimp for lunch tomorrow. It looked amazing too. My server was really nice and when I left people were waiting in line to get in!!

This is a decent Mexican place with good food . The service could be better but the yummy food kind of makes up for it. We had problems getting the food we ordered in the first attempt. Plus nobody seemed to pay attention to our table to put our orders in. We got the chunky guac , chicken fajita some chicken and cauliflower tacos and a couple of shots of expensive Jack daniels . It was around closing time as well so they were getting ready to wrap up. Overall a decent place to enjoy some nice mexican food but i hope they improve on the service!

A very good and well throughout menu. Several items featured that are not found in the standard Mexican restaurant fare. My companion had a super fresh salad. The greens were fresh and cotija cheese was just the right salty counterpoint. He also enjoyed a bowl of delicious tortilla soup full of tasty chicken and avocado. I ordered the chili relleno plate and though not crispy as advertised on the menu, it was very tasty. I had two al pastor tacos. The best I’ve had. They were just savory goodness in every mouthful. Highly recommended!

Oscar has been amazing! This is our third time eating here and our second time with him and he has always been so absolutely kind and fast even though he has been extremely busy. Even when we had issues he took care of us with absolute kindness and respect and went above and beyond. The food was so delicious as always! I would recommend Las Palmas to anyone looking for a great classic Mexican restaurant in Nashville, I don't even want to try anywhere else!!! Also their e-club is awesome. Thank you Oscar and all the staff at Las Palmas!

The food here is very good. Service is fast from the time you place your order to delivery at your table. The service was excellent. Shout out to Oscar who was engaging and friendly. By the way, Happy Hour is Monday to Friday 2-5 pm (2 for 1). Get the mango margarita...so tasty...trust me you won't regret it...well maybe if you had one too many 😂😂😂

I can’t find the right words, to describe how wonderful my meal and service was. I’m moving to Nashville from California and I really needed some food that reminded me of home. I was not disappointed! Delicious blended salsa, hot chips and Enchiladas Supremo was absolutely perfect. Service was great. Gracias Carlitos y los amigos a Las Palmas!

Apathetic Service. My co-workers and I go to Las Palmas near Vandy every once in a while. The food is inexpensive and it is close. Recently, we went for a co-worker's birthday, and had a very bad experience.At first, service was fine, but it started to get very slow. We just took it in stride since it was the lunch rush. <br/><br/>One of my co-workers ordered a fajita taco salad, which is described in the menu as "Our Delicious chicken, rib-eye or shrimp grilled with bell pepper and onions, served in a crispy flour tortilla bowl, topped with hot melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese, guacamole and sour cream." After waiting for our food to come, my co-worker was presented with a regular plate of salad with just chicken on top. After politely telling the server (who wasn't our original server) that there was a mistake and sending the food back, we all waited to see if the problem would be rectified as everyone else's food continued to trickle out. In the meantime, a lot of orders arrived incomplete, so we repeatedly had to ask for items. <br/><br/>After some time had passed, our original waiter returned to question my co-worker about her order and brought back the same exact dish, which was likely luke-warm by this time. After some back and forth about what she had ordered and stressing the components of the salad that were on the menu but not on the plate, my co-worker simply told the waiter "no thank you" and that she'd just be paying for her drink and the birthday girl's lunch. So she sat while everyone ate and waited, and she received no apology from the server or manager. <br/><br/>At the end of our meal, we all received our bill from yet another server. After giving her our cards, the same co-worker, who's food order had been botched, looked down and saw that her card had been charged over $200. The original bill had said like $20. At this point, I called for the manager because there were just too many mistakes and the servers could really care less. However, we soon found out that that attitude extended to the manager Alfredo. There was no real apology from the manager and no attempt to reconcile the entire situation, which he was aware of (e.g. the food, the slow service, the debit card debacle.) The manager voided the charge, but it had already posted to my co-worker's online statement. He also rebilled her the $20 or so dollars.<br/><br/>As someone who's frequented Las Palmas, I am rather disappointed in how the situation was handled. We were very polite, but the Las Palmas team near Vandy seemed very apathetic and callous about the whole situation. While everyone makes mistakes, as a customer-supported establishment, you should make sure your customers enjoy their experience even if problems arise. The Las Palmas staff made no attempt to do that. Even a smile would have sufficed. This will probably be the last time my co-workers and I go there. Very disappointed.

TERRIBLE EVERYTHING. AWFUL. I have been there more than once, and it was never great but ok. However the most recent time we went was the WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had at a restaurant. We were sat and no one ever came to our table, I had to go get them, she got us the wrong appetizer, the food was awful and cold, everything took forever even though the restaurant was empty!!! The waitress was just terrible, I had to go find her several times. We almost got up and left and I wish we had! At the end of it our check was wrong and I never complain but when I did finally talk to the manager she didn't even care and did nothing about it. She didn't apologize or offer any kind of restitution. On our way out I did see that waitress was eating at a table, that would explain why she never came to ours!

Fast lunch and good food. I had lunch today at Las Palmas in downtown Nashville. The service was really quick, perfect to get in, eat and get out and back to work within an hour.<br/>I had the Lunch Fajita Quesadilla ($6.15), a thicker version of a the original quesadilla. Filled with lots of tender grilled chicken, onions and peppers, the dish was just perfect for lunch. Small bowl of queso ($2.70) very good.<br/>Service was quick and friendly. When I asked for remaining queso and chips to go, my server gladly bagged up the chips and queso with a smile.<br/>I'll be back!
