This place doesn't look like much from the outside so I was obviously surprised when I went inside and found a cozy cafe inside the market. It's a great place to chill and read on the couches or get studies in. I had the triple shot expresso to keep me wired for the rest of the evening.
The coffee is AWESOME! The atmosphere is laid back and comfy; very helpful and friendly staff...And Sam is the Nicest Shop-Owner EVER! He always makes you feel welcome. Whenever I am in Nashville, I have to stop and have a delicious cuppa-Joe! Don't forget to try their Scrumptious Chicken Salad Sandwich! p.s. Every Day there is a different flavored coffee available. My favorites are German Chocolate Cake and Blueberry Cobbler. You can even buy coffee beans from their varied assortment. And they'll grind them for you, for whatever coffee strength you enjoy! Thanks Sam!!!!❤
This is my favorite place to get coffee. It's a market/cafe blend. Their tea is spot on. It's pretty quiet most of the time, which makes it ideal for working or writing. There are several little tucked away nooks with access to power outlets, and art all over the walls. I love the relaxed atmosphere with its garage library vibe.
Adore this place! Great selection of tasty beverages and treats. The "studying Nietzsche" is my all time fave, but everything is good. As a broke college student, I appreciate the reasonably priced drip coffee with discounted refills. J&J's is also a market with basically everything you could ever want - ramen, ice cream, novelty soda, beer, a large selection of tea, and some euro stuff as well. The atmosphere is quirky, warm, sincere--not at all pretentious or corporate. Local artists and photographers are always on display as well as a ton of pictures, items, etc from (I think?) the owner's travels--especially Vienna! (I nearly cried when I saw that they carry Manner wafers, and Mozartkugeln.) The staff is super friendly and helpful, as is the owner. I can't think of a cozier place in Nashville for coffee and conversation, or for hunkering down with a textbook. It's just lovely. Can you tell I love this place?!
Great coffee. Huge tea selection. Decent beer selection. And a lot of snack foods. I'd recommend the Keeker's Koffler and Rousseau & Burke. The only downside is there isn't much parking, and the lighting is very dim. So, this isn't a cafe I like to do serious work in, but it's a great casual place.
The worker bees are so cool. They make coffee like it's in their blood, like you're their best friend and they want you to have a beautiful cuppa coffee or tea. The whole place has got a feel about it that says, "This is your study even if you don't know another soul in the house." Go there. Watch the developers have to sit on their hands while you have a drink in a real coffee shop.
Favorite local coffee shop. Cozy vibe, good place to work or study. Also has a quick-mart inside that has a decent selection of bottled beer with a build-your-own-6-pack option. 3-4 beers on tap as well.
Although they have a few comfy couches, their chairs are tippy and uncomfortable as sin.
I almost kept walking when I saw the outside of this place .. very grateful I didn't. Very friendly staff and an unusual coffee menu. If your looking for good coffee and a small collection of prepackaged snacks - this place is perfect. Glad I didn't judge the book by its cover .. this place has an amazing interior which is fun to visit.
Authentic coffee shop with comfy chairs, quiet music, and an awesome beer selection. The coffee is mediocre and sometimes unorthodox, but the atmosphere and cheap price more than makes up for it. Definitely one of my favorite places in Nashville.
One of my favorite coffeeshops in town. The atmosphere is like you imagine a coffeeshop should be. Lots of tables, some couches, quiet music (most often classical), good wifi, and great coffee. They have a little mom and pop shop type section but beware it's a bit pricey.
