Review Freedom Cafe & Public House - Naples

I’m from Texas and even though they were short staffed they were Johnny on the spot, the service was quick and friendly! I can’t say enough great things about the tasty, flavorful food! I ordered lobster scampi and my husband had fish and chips and we shared. Both meals had great flavor which I’m all about! And the gentleman seating us answered my question about the plural of moose! Next time you’re in you should ask!

Had a wonderful lunch today. Atmosphere beautiful. Loved seeing families and their children playing on the lawn and in the water. General manager friendly, kind and hardworking. Wonderful young man setting a really nice experience for all. Server named Natalie outstanding!!! Cannot wait to go back.

This place was fantastic! I had the lobster roll with a side of onion rings & a delicious blue paw beer.🍺 My husband and I shared the turtle cheesecake for dessert. The staff were friendly & courteous. We had dinner out on the deck It was a fantastic view! As an added bonus the bathrooms were spotless. ✨🚽

We had one of our best experiences so far at Freedom Cafe last week. They have expanded on their outdoor seating quite a bit, which is great and the staff in general, and our waiter Christian in particular were all excellent. From the hostess to the owner, everyone was busting their tails while maintaining friendly and outgoing personalities and taying attentive even though it was pretty crazy in there. Our daughter loved the food and the prices were very reasonable considering all the recent price hikes we are all experiencing. This place has tons of seating indoor and out with a lovely view of Long Lake. It is also accessible by boat and they feature live entertainment on the weekends. We highly recommend this place if you are looking for food on the Naples Causeway.

We sat outside since the weather was perfect. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was really good. Recommend the nachos and burrito! Sprouts were a little under cooked for us though. Would definitely visit again!

The drinks were amazing. Service was sweet and kind. Our food was coming out slow but that’s because the place was packed! Honestly worth the wait though cause the food was so good! Highly recommend this spot!

The service and bar drinks were great. The apps were decent. The entrees weren't good at all. The fisherman's platter was small (3 shrimp, 3 scallops, and a small piece of Haddock) and over cooked. The lobster roll was good size but again over cooked. The lobster meat was tough and dry. Go for apps drinks and stay away from the entrees.

Nice view out back on the deck but food is way overpriced and the live music was too loud. $40+ for two burgers (thin frozen patties not homemade) and sweet potato fries, the tiniest slice of tomato and lettuce - cheapest ketchup possible - no mustard or mayo. General Manager had a t-shirt on that said, “Come sit on my big deck.” Crude and inappropriate for family dining UPDATE The owner immediately replied denying everything and claimed their crude t-shirt is their best selling as “people love the humor.” Disgusting and arrogant management - we won’t be back and won’t recommend.

We had a party of 10 and arrived at 5:45 on Monday. We were seated quickly and greeted by a friendly waiter. Drinks were served quickly. The good experience started to fall apart after that. Our food began to arrive and the salmon my sister in law ordered was cold and not fully cooked. She asked to switch for a fisherman's platter and the waiter very nicely apologized and said sure, offering to comp her meal. The waiter was great about that. At the same time, my fisherman's bake hadn't yet arrived but the waiter apologized for the delay and got me another drink and others dug in to their meals. Another 30 minutes goes by and my meal arrives. Everyone else had finished eating (even my SIL who's replacement platter had come out well before mine), but I dig in looking to enjoy my meal. At this point, my brother quietly went to talk to man who appeared to be the manager and mention that the waiter was great, but the kitchen was clearly struggling as we had a couple issues with our food. The "manager's" response was "ok". He didn't once apologize. I can't emphasize enough how unhelpful and unconcerned this man was. I take a couple bites of my meal and find that the shrimp in my platter wasn't even cooked through! Time for me to find the "manager" who has been in hiding ever since my brother spoke to him. I find him and start to say my bake showed up late, he interrupts to tell me that meal "takes 20 mins to cook". I tell him that's fine, but mine took over and hour and wasn't even cooked when I got it. He immediately told me that our waiter is the floor manager and should have told us that he was going to comp the bad meals. Again, NO APOLOGY and on top of it, he's throwing the waiter under the bus! I ask what this guy's role is at the restaurant and he tells me he is the OWNER!! I can't even fathom how this man who owns the place doesn't apologize up and down and offer to comp a round of drinks on top of the disgusting meals. Truly can't believe it. I told him we understood that things go wrong at times and all he really needed to do was stop over to the table and apologize, offer to comp a round of drinks (we didn't have any apps or else just comp those) and he wouldn't have lost customers and then he gave me a very insincere sorry...too little too late my friend!! I wouldn't have written a thing here if he had apologized, but he clearly didn't care about his business or his customers.

I had the blueberry pulled pork which was very bland. We shared the artichoke and spinach dip which was mediocre but the chips were stale. My companion had the lobster scampi which she liked but I was not impressed with. The only reason I gave a second star was because Our server was on point and on top of things.

The food was absolutely amazing! I had the blackened haddock sandwich, just mouth watering even writing about makes me want to go back. The sandwich came with a choice of onion rings. Unreal! So good with a beer like batter that I couldn’t put down. So yes I would recommend to anyone, the people were super nice, the food was awesome with boat access... yes we are going back for sure.

First I tried sending a message asking about something on the menu but never heard back. We were driving by on the way home from work so decided to stop by anyway. Nachos came with a super tiny guacamole and salsa neither had any seasoning at all. “Veggies” = a ton of diced tomatoes. Mushroom caps - tasted like pure balsamic. No other flavors or seasoning, canned artichoke and did not see olive. Super tiny too and swimming in a pool of balsamic Salad - generic with huge chunks of red onion. Table had a view of a dumpster outside and was right next to the kitchen door with people running in and out and yelling “coming in” every 2 seconds. View of the kitchen showed a filthy trash can and food all over the floor. There was a bug on my plate (between 2 other plates) and flies flying around It took forever for the meal too! And it was outrageously priced especially given the quality. We would have left if we hadn’t worked all day, it was pretty bad.

We had an excellent meal at The Freedom Cafe & Pub! My husband had the fried haddock sandwich, one of my sons had the lobster roll, the other had the seafood platter and I had the seafood bake. We all loved our meals! We will definitely be back!

The service was super slow. The young waitress was nice but inexperienced & not trained in how to deal with a meal that was brought out burned. The drinks, appetizers, and food all took FOREVER to come out. The manager never came over as I pointed out to the waitress that the chicken parm was burned and the chicken dry and over cooked. Very disappointed and would not recommend or go back again. The manager or owner, not sure which he is, was too busy walking around on his cell phone to address unhappy customers, shame on him.

The service was the worst I have ever had in my life. Maybe I am wrong, but when your waitress doesn't check on you for 30 minutes at a time. Doesn't bring you refills on your drinks, the food gets there and you don't have any silverware to eat with and you have to track it down yourself. It can't be good service. When the food gets there and it is cold and one of the plates is dirty, it is also a problem. The food was below average seafood for a Maine restaurant. The portions are small for the price charged. When the owner is the one taking care of you, and rings you out at full price and doesn't even offer you a drink on the house. And then says sorry for the slow service. �

The calamari was great and my fish and chips was a very generous portion. Burgers were very good too. Atmosphere was fun for the Derby.

Friendly and professional staff. Great view off the back deck. We had a haddock fish fry. Good although the fries were not hot. But the cold salad was really good!

$15 for a bloody Mary (price not listed on the menu and I asked for the house version) then told we can't use the bathrooms and need to stand in line for one of only two porta potties for the entire, packed restaurant during a festival weekend. Not cool!

We love Freedo Cafe & Pub best atmosphere in the area foods great and they have a patio that looks at the lake
