A purely vegetarian restaurant with authentic North Indian food. Very friendly staff and excellent service. Their baby corn Manchurian is very.. delicious. Amritsari Kulcha, chole Bature was good. It's very close to Chicago Premium Outlet (around 4 Miles). The interesting things about the restaurant are:
1. They provide disinfectant hand wipes and a small hand sanitizer bottle for each table.
2. They give a plate of papad and a mango lassi as a complimentary.
3. They don't have Thali on weekends.
4. Their fried rice is unique instead of fresh beans and carrots they are using potatoes. It looks like a veg Biryani but tastes like a fried rice.

I recently came to know about Shimla Peppers through a friend who was raving about its food. Being a foodie, I had to give it a try despite the fact it was 50 miles away. 3 families drove to the restaurant and I must say it was worth the drive. The staff is very friendly, and their hospitality for the customers is top notch. Truly authentic North Indian food served with love. We tried Amritsari Kulcha, Chole Bhature, Achari Soya Chaap, Tomato Soup, Hakka Noodles, Makki ki Roti and Saag, Chai, Hariyali Paneer Tikka, Jalebi Rabri & Gulab Jamun. Highly recommend Shimla Peppers. If you miss North Indian food, Shimla Peppers should be your destination.

Ordered food while on way back home to Minneapolis.
Was attracted to the restaurant for 3 things: 1) Name - as it is named after Queen of Hills Shimla 2) Rumali roti 3) malai chaap. Which all are absolutely rare in USA.
We ordered malai chaap with rumali roti, dal tadka, bhindi and garlic naan.
Service: 5 Stars (They opened the restaurant beyond normal hours as I requested that I am on my way to Minneapolis and will like to try the food. They accommodated to my request. Also offers free bottled water for the travel.
Taste: 5 Stars (absolutely awesome)
Quantity: 5 Stars
Vegan/Veg Options: 5 Stars

Shimla Peppers a really good pure vegetarian north Indian restaurant. We visited this place with friends on Sunday and they were able to accommodate us. One of the owners is always at the restaurant and they are making sure to provide you a good personal experience. The place is nice and clean and the inside decor reminds you of a restaurant in India. The service is good, but like other restaurants seem under staffed, hence the service could be slow.
We tried various different entree and all were made in true North Indian (Delhi) style. Some of the items that stood out were:
* Amritsari Kulcha Plate: it's punjabi style chole with kulcha and side of spiced onions. This was our favorite dish of the night and the quantity is sufficient for one person.
* Karachi Paneer: it was soft and flavorful. We had it with lachcha paratha and Naan.
* Spinach Kofta: this was the first time we had spinach Kofta anywhere. It was very good. If you plan to share then keep in mind that only 2 Koftas come in a single order.
* Paneer Butter Masala: this was good and one of the few dishes that is not spicy.
The restaurant also makes authentic romali roti, Delhi style, but unfortunately the day we went it was not on the menu. We definitely have to go back for that.
Overall, a great family experience and if you are looking for Delhi style food then try this place.

The food is really good. Amritsari kulcha plate and momos highly recommended. They really make you feel welcoming. Also try their Jalebi rabdi.. I was recommended by a friend and all the good stuff he mentioned about the food and the ambience, that was so true.
