I was visiting Myrtle Beach from San Jose. My brother and I had Sashimi dinner, the service, food, and atmosphere should be rated 5 Star+. We liked it so much so we went back next day happy hour, everything is great. Highly recommended!
I have not eaten Japanese food in a few years. Big mistake. My cousin, myself and my boss met up here at Broadway at the Beach to try out Yamato Japanese Steakhouse and it was one of the best Asian food related decisions that I have made in a long time, lol. Even though it looked like it would be a long wait for us (because there were a lot of people in the waiting area), we were seated before we could finish up our drinks that we had just ordered from the bar. This was less than a ten minute wait. The drinks were fantastic, the once strangers that dined alongside us at the table seemed like friends we had known forever within minutes. The chef was humorous and very talented with his cooking skills, giving you a show that you will never forget. He served each and every one of us, one by one to our specific order with spot on accuracy. Above and beyond generous portions. I had the filet, shrimp and scallops. Will be back soon, p.s. prices are not ridiculously expensive either. Enjoy!
Came in from out of town and was in the mood for fried rice. There was a small 5min wait but nothing a drink at the bar doesn't fix. We were seated promptly with four other couples and an infant. Servers took orders pretty fast and while waiting for the chef we got our soup and salads. The chef was talented, funny, and cooked great food. No complaints from anyone at the table and one lady even couldn't get enough of the yum yum sauce - he had to refill her saucer 5-6 times! Moderation folks.
TLDR: Good hibachi place. Go if you want hibachi.
Hiro, our chef, was entertaining. There was a LOT of food! I prefer the yum yum sauce at our hibachi back home in MD but this place serves sherbet at the end so that's a big plus!
The food here is good!! But rush you. As soon as our food was done, they were already giving out boxes. I do not like to be in a rush when I eat. But I would come back.
The chef put on a good show. Some chefs were alot more involved in their table. The food was good. Only down side on the food was the chicken. It was dry. We had steak, shrimp, and chicken.
We had a large party of 17 and there hostess did a great job of seating us close together. This was a first time visit for several of us. The service and chef at the table were all top notch. The meal is pricey but you get a ton of food that makes it worth the price, along with the entertaining chef. It was an awesome evening for a birthday celebration. Well done, Yamato.
First time here. Group of 12 for friend's son's birthday. Great food & drinks. Rob was a wonderful server. Chef was great and entertaining. Fun atmosphere. We'll be back.
Our chef was amazing! He made it such an enjoyable experience. The portion sizes are decently large, so I tend to share with someone- there is an adult share option.
Wait times are long but they are worth it. Never been served cold food. Have been coming here with my family since I was a year old.

I have taken my hubby here for his birthday. While we were in Myrtle Beach and the food was excellent. Service was good. The inside is a little dated.
And my waitress forgot to come back and check on us. Other than that the food was good and has enough to have the next day.
Was our first time here. The waiter was not very attentive. The chef was amazing and very engaging. The food was good and there was plenty to take home.

Hot food, cold drinks. Chef was excellent, interactive and prepared all of our steaks to proper cook temperature. Our waitress Molly was friendly, fast and efficient! She was also very knowledgeable of the menu and which items were safe for gluten-free diet. Very impressed and will certainly dine there again when visiting our Chanticleer!
This was one of the best places I’ve eaten hibachi in. The steak was tender and everything had excellent flavor. The chef was so funny and entertaining. At the end of the meal you get a scoop of sherbet and that was the icing on the cake! I highly recommend this place and will go again when I visit Myrtle Beach again.
This place is awesome!! The food is great and so is the service. They seat you with other groups of people at one large table and a chef comes and cooks your food in front of you. Our cook was hilarious and made it really fun. The portions are HUGE! The sushi is also good. Great hibachi restaurant try if you're in Myrtle Beach.
