We had a wonderful day. I loved that it wasn't over the top with all the extra activities that add to the price. Picking apples was the central focus of the day and we had so much fun as a family. It was definitely worth the hour drive.
Worth the drive. Chicken Pot Pies to die for, plus everything else. Unique setting.
Elegant Farmer is most known for pies baked in a brown paper bag, not to mention how extraordinarily delicious these pies are! The store has loads of farmish things: cheeses, deli meats, jellies & preserves, breads. You can order your lunch at the Deli.
Everybody is friendly, pleasant. It's a great place to stop off Highway 43.
Most years since 2005 It has been a ritual to stop by for a (or 3) pies in a bag during the holidays. Beautiful drive from here in Racine. I am fond of the meat pot pies as well. Definitely worth a trip to experience with loved ones. Heavenly Sweet tooth here! First time I tried the cookies, So good!
This was my first time coming for Apple Picking with my family and really enjoyed our time here at the Elegant Farmer. I looked at several apple picking farms but this place came recommended from a friend who has been here before and told me how much she loved it.
We bought tickets for the hayrides which us took to the apple orchards and then the corn maze after. They were $6 per person for each. If you come with a big group then this adds up - just something to keep in mind. I also liked that they had the option of half peck, full peck etc. and we could take one per family instead of some other places where it looked like each person had to buy one bag which could be a lot for one family if you are not planning to use up all the apples soon.
After we did our apple picking we went to the corn maze which was so interesting. It was not easy but so fun. They do give you a map but i dont think the map helped me at all.. we had to kind of use our intuition and follow some other folks who were also busy trying to discover their path.
After our experience there we went across the street to pick up some goodies from their store. It was super crowded but they had an excellent collection of everything and anything. I picked up their famous apple pie baked in a bag and it was super yummy. What a treat for the entire family!
Very friendly. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I asked about popular items and was told the chicken potpie is a must try. I also got a loaf of sauerkraut rye bread, baked in store. Quality seems to be priority. Meats and cheeses looked good. Ready to eat sandwiches, Syrup, preserves, and dried foods are available. I will be back every opertunity I get. I wish it was closer to home.
THIS PLACE IS THE BOMB. It's so good. Nice ride from Chicago and SUPER appreciate more pavement in their gravel lot. Pies in brown paper and a pumpkin square must gets. Lots of food stuff you didn't realize you must have like honey or blue popcorn.
Fresh veggies are just a small part of The Elegant Farmer's harm. The baked goods are wonderful--imagine caramel apple pie. Just wow. The hot deli sandwiches are tasty and filling without being encased in huge volumes of plain white bread. And the snacks alone are worth the trip! Try the corn nuts!
Good and big farm . It is a good place to spend a good time playing games .picking apples, pumpkin, corn mazes. Eating pie , caramel apples and etc....
The Elegant Farmer is packed so many unique and fun things to eat. Add to the experience by riding the Trolley there from East Troy.
