Hapgoods is a great brunch spot in Mountain Lakes. The outdoor seating delivers a perfect nature vibe on a cool, autumn morning. The food is delicious! Highly recommend the banana pecan pancakes and the health kick omelet. Prices are reasonable. Will continue to come back for more!
Sunday morning is no cooking day for me 😀
So we are in search of good restaurants in & around Montville.
Found this beautiful place with amazing reviews & awesome ambience & no doubt it was our best decision.
Food - Yummilicious, value for money & cost is justified for the quantity & quality both.
Service - I just loved their staff, so welcoming, warm, prompt & they make you feel at home.
Ambience - They have varied seating with warm colors & little old school vibe. They have ample space, inside & out.
Highly recommended place.
Thank you for serving some yummy food.
Delicious food, and the outside seating is peaceful to be near nature when you're usually surrounded by city sounds. I come here every time I visit from Miami, breakfast and lunch you cannot go wrong with whatever you order
I ate at Hapgoods in June 2023. It is the perfect spot for a reasonably priced, sizeable portion for lunch or breakfast! The menu has many great options, including many vegetarian dishes. We ordered the garden omelet and the vegetable panini. Both were delicious, fresh, and filling. Also, because of the warm weather, Hapgoods has both outdoor and indoor seating! I highly recommend eating here for a great meal.
Quaint and lovely place to have brunch, (with a bonus scenic and short drive up to the mountains to get here.) Dine in solo or as a group, this place has a spot for everyone looking for a lovely casual dining experience. Staff is friendly and food is satisfying. I ordered Eggs Benedict, and my friend the classic pancakes with bacon. Good portions for a straightforward hearty meal.
7 family members met here for dinner on Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. What a cool, casual place!! Having grown up in Mt. Lakes in the 1960s, how wonderful to see this great restaurant serve as a "tribute" to the beautiful architecture of this very special town. Our server was fantastic, our meals were all delicious, and it's BYOB!
Located in a quiet and charming area, this cafe/restaurant is modern, and inviting, with an aspect of coziness - there’s an area by the hearth set up like a living room.
You can walk in and simply head to the cafe counter, which is stocked with fresh and delicious baked goods from a variety of decadent looking cookies to luscious brownies. There’s also coffee or tea to go, unless you decide to stay and enjoy it all there.
You can also have a seat and enjoy the restaurant. The menu has plenty that’ll catch your eye, for sure; the banana pecan pancakes were delish! Service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is kept very clean.
A real pleasure to find this place. Would definitely return.
Wow what a great place. Loved the food, the outdoor seating, wonderful brunch experience. We went to this place for a Saturday brunch around noon. It was crowded but we got a table right away. They have an extensive menu with some delicious pancakes. Definitely going back there soon
Hapgoods was such a pleasant surprise tucked away in an unexpected neighborhood of Mountain Lakes. The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is really delightful. It's my favorite breakfast joint in the northern NJ area by far. Definitely give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
The restaurant has a very nice interior design. The service was awesome and attentive. My deep fried french toast was too dry and needed more sauce or something to complete it. We ordered sides which came super small and also on a bit dry side. However, my husband said his mushroom omelette was good but also a bit dry(missing some olive oil?) I don't know if the food is always like this( almost good but something was missing in each dish) but I will try again next time.
Very inviting cozy atmosphere. The staff is the most friendly. Erin was our server and was excellent. I got the kitchen sink, and my girlfriend got a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. They do have gluten-free options as well. Gluten free toast, gluten free wrap. Only 1 thin that i was ahocked by. In a bad way. Bacon is $7 and you get 3 slices. That's a little steep. But I would go here again.
Cute place. Not super big. We were greeted and seated right away. So many of the options looked good, but we decided on 2 items that we would share. The fried french toast which was drizzled with Nutella and strawberries was delicious and not such a common item. It was very tasty, but I would have had trouble eating the entire thing because it was very rich in flavor. My sister ordered the huevos rancheros. It was very good and served over corn tortilla chips rather than the typical tortilla. It tasted good as well. I think by the time we finally got to it, I felt like the tortilla chips were a bit soggy, but the refried beans were very tasty and the avocado was a nice touch. I ordered a delicious cappuccino and my sister had a regular coffee with half and half. Both were good. If forever in the area, we would stop in again and try something different. Cute spot to visit if you're in the area.
This place is amazing. We went there for brunch and I think we chose the perfect place for it. It's a happening place and food is delicious. We ordered Steak and Eggs Benedict, and Huevos Rancheros, both were scrumptious. Would definitely go to this place again.
A bit of a hidden gem. Really good food, nice spot, and even though prices are a lot higher now than they were before the pandemic, this remains in our regular rotation. I dinged the service because they seem to hire local kids, high school and college age, which is great, but they don't always get things right. Very friendly, though. We're regulars for dinner but I hear brunch is a highlight.
food was great and so was the service! sat outside and it was really nice!
Has indoor and outdoor seating. Little neighborhood gem. Breakfast all day
The food was delicious, holiday latte was amazing. The staff was super kind, my waiter Brenson made sure we had everything we needed and were completely satisfied.
We go here for a weekend breakfast treat from time to time. Can be very busy which is a great indication of the quality of food and the service. I've never had a bad experience. Always look forward to the Eggs Benedict and the coffee. Simple, but done well.
