White House Restaurnt

Must have driven by this place thousands of times and I figured any restaurant that survived the pandemic must be OK. The inside is a little off putting (old fashioned) but the good wait staff and simple food. I ordered the stuffed seafood platter (see photo). While I would have loved more crab in the mixture the price was low for stuffed flounder, stuffed shrimp and the mushroom which was buried under a cloud of stuffing. It was the fresh vegetables blew me away. I selected the grilled vegetables (maybe were roasted ahead of time but then well caramelized on a griddle prior to serving) and steamed broccoli (heavy fresh stalks x2). My husband had zucchini braised in tomato chunks - there were remnants of fresh thyme floating in it. So many diners sadly have taken short cuts.

Have heard good things and was not disappointed! Very cute place with affordable dishes. Looks very popular with the older folks and the locals. I got a cup of chicken noodle soup it was very tasty. I got the Reuben sandwich which I requested to be served closed face. Came with fries, pickles and coleslaw. The sandwich was sooo good!! My husband got a cheese omelet with friend potatoes, he said it was good. There is a huge selection of food and service was perfect. Outdoor and indoor seating was available. Will be back!

To start the floor was filthy with napkins and other debris all over the place. Next, the food was very bland. Not really any flavor to it. Had to add tons of salt so I could taste something. It was pricey for a very bland breakfast. I’ve always driven past it and decided to give it a shot. I regret going in there. Hopefully they clean up and do better with the food. The waitress was really nice but that was about it.

If you are in the area then do yourself a favor and stop by at this restaurant. You will not be disappointed. The owner Nick is the is one of the friendliest guys you will meet and will take care of you properly. The food is also that classic delicious dinner food that we all know and love. I highly recommend the Maryland crab cake salad with a side of fries. The portions of their salads are also very filling. You will leave here full and satisfied guaranteed.

This place was really bad! I am new in the area so I am trying all the eateries. How can you mess up breakfast? The home fries tasted like Styrofoam that was cooked last week. They charge $1 for a piece of cheese. The food was bad, I told the waitress and she took the plate back and brought back the same overcooked and tasteless home fries. Needless to say but I will say it anyway. I won't be going back!
