Sweet Gourmet

I have no words for the delicious dessert bar I got from Karen for a baby shower ! She was very accomadative in few changes just before the event. The guests and hosts enjoyed the desserts so much, the sweetness was perfect and very delicious! Cake pops was a big time hit with the kids and the adults too! Thank you Karen for making it extra special!

While visiting from out of state, my aunt recommended stopping at this bakery. I am so glad I did. From the moment I walked through the door to the last crumb I ate off my plate, the experience could not have been better! As soon as I walked through the door I knew I was in trouble. The air was filled with a wonderful baking smell. Walking further into the shop I was welcomed by cheerful women and displays of treats. I went for the just baked sour cream cinnamon coffee cake topped with nuts and the freshly baked mini chocolate chip cookies. It was a great experience. But wait, I didn't tell you if the deserts were tasty. Without a doubt, YES they were. Served the cake to the relatives who each were blown away by how it tasted. My father who is 92 and has had his fair share of cakes over the years said this was the best coffee cake he ever had even in front of his wife and his sister-in-law of over 70+ years. BTW the 2 sisters are great bakers in their own right. For sure we were all in agreement, the cake was light and just delicious. And whatever they did to the topping was, the perfect topping on the cake. Curious about the chocolate chip cookie? The girls agree, absolutely delightful. Dad opted for a 2nd piece of cake. My aunt made a great suggestion and now I'm passing it along to you. I recommend this bakery.

Karen makes such amazingly delicious desserts! Her cookies (or any of her baked goods for that matter) make the perfect gift and the presentation is beautiful. Everyone I have gifted her baked goods to has raved about how yummy they are. I highly recommend trying her blueberry scones. They are easily the best I have ever had. I cannot recommend her more!

I was very excited to locate a cake from a fine new bakery at short notice. The young woman that answered the phone was lovely and very helpful. This was my first experience at Sweet Gourmet. As I walked through the door I noticed the few patrons were not wearing masks. I could understand and accept that. The person behind the counter was not and I felt awkward {since he was a food handler}. When I asked him why he was not wearing a mask, he replied "one day we won't have to". I purchased the cake and left. While sitting in my car feeling very uneasy, I realized I would not be able to serve the cake to my family, let alone eat it myself knowing the employees making and handling it did not wear masks. So, I returned the cake and drove around looking for a satisfactory cake where the food handlers wore masks. There was no problem. The 2 stars reflect Sweet Gourmet's unwise lack of concern and empathy for the varied experiences and perspectives of their potential customers. This is a new business. Finely baked goods can touch ones heart with delight. Many of those potential customers are sincerely uncertain about covid safety measures because of the conflicting messages being broadcast concerning them. Mask wearing is such a small thing. Empathy is a powerful one, and helps people to feel trust and gratitude. What a small price to pay for even one grateful customer, and the rewards can be unexpected. I look forward to the day when I can safely taste the chocolate cake from Sweet Gourmet.

They were almost to pretty to eat. But, so glad we did they tasted as great as they looked! Our guests all raved about them. I wanted a valentine themed Llama Cookie and they did a wonderful job pulling it together quickly. The cookies were delicately designed with such great detail. The taste of the cookie was moist, fresh and buttery. So glad I found you. Great communication and service. Best of luck. Thank you.
