Michael's Golden Hen

They do a nice range of traditional Aussie milk bar type fry ups, burgers and steak sangas. Have the typical Vic flake on offer as a deep fried fish, steamed dimmys and a set of roast meat & veg as a carvery. Place doesn't pong, oil seems fresh and the people running the joint all have Aussie accents. Good prices and serving sizes. Yeah, its fine, place looks clean and food appears fresh. Same can't be said for a couple of its competitors whose specials seem to be hepatitis rolls and gastric disasters.

I order over $50 worth of food when I got home I was missing 10 dim sims. When I rang to say you missed part of my order the lady was abrupt and rude while she proceeded to tell me I hadnt ordered them. From reading other reviews it's clear that this is an ongoing issue which is a real shame because the food was good. I will not be returning.

What a great place to buy a lunch. I can only really comment on how good the roast pork rolls are and the potato dish is. The rolls are great value. Well cooked pork that is moist. The staff are happy to put a bit of apple sauce and gravy on it as well as placing a bit of crackling, which is always crunchy. My wife and I have been there several times and never have been disappointed. Thanks guys and keep making those great rolls. The other meals look good too, will have to try something else soon🙂
