Amazing food! We got birria tacos, a birria quesadilla, beans, and tres leches. We wanted to dine in but it was way too hot in there. So we ended up taking it to go and unfortunately they didn’t give us the tres leches we ordered so my bf had to go back for it. They were very nice but didn’t do anything to make up for this inconvenience which is why I gave 3 stars for service.

The food here was sooo good!
It has not lost its authentic taste.
Even when the place is busy, the food was out within a reasonable amount of time.
I got the menudo with maiz, we did get 2 kids chicken tender basket meals however with how much it was we should have just ordered 1.
The tacos de asada and rice were bomb💣
The salsa was spicy but it was soo good you kept adding more and more.
The mexican coke is the medio litro one (1/2 liter).
They also had aguas and I ordered the agua de horchata. It was very tasty!! Not too sweet which is the way I like it!
We will deff be back when we are back in the area 👍🏼

Conclusion: Despite some criticisms of Lake St, I actually really like the diverse feel, murals and vibe of the location. Taqueria y birrieria las cuatro milpas is situated on the corner of the intersection with accessible street parking.
I’ve now visited this location several times and It has a very homey feel that makes you feel welcomed. I’m not sure if this is a family owned business but the flavours sure do support that idea, two words: comfort food. The service and cleanliness is average as you’d expect, nothing to highlight but the price point and the food shines high above all the other rating factors.
If you only order one thing from here it has to be the birria tacos 🌮. The meat is soft and tender, the consome is rich and well seasoned, the tacos are crisp and delicious. Ohh and did I forget to mention the condiments? Chef’s kiss.

The customer service here is excellent! The food is to die for. It is so good. I highly recommend coming here to get food ~ even to try something new. I got the Torta De Pollo and wow. I was amazed at how good it was. I highly recommend that item kn the menu.

Absolutely love this Hidden Gem restaurant. In a slightly sketchy area. But you will FORGET that as soon as you step inside. Authentic food, people, and vibes. Recommend the Quesadillas, they are amazing.

Picked up some tacos to go, they were packed with meat but unfortunately getting them to go caused the corn tortillas to get soggy and tear apart. Food comes out quick, dine in is counter service, delivered to your table. The neighborhood is a hub for Mexican restaurants. Tacos were delicious but I'd go with dine in if you can.

that taste like someone abuelo from Mexico in the back cooking himself. Good food and the homemade fruit juice are a nice addition to wash everything down with and mix with a little tequila 🔥🔥🔥🔥definitely will return for TACO TUESDAY 🌮 more often

The food and service here is very good and I will return again and again lol. Me and my friends enjoyed it here, this is a must visit spot. I like the vibe and the staff and short waiting time. The food have flavor and authentic, the drinks are also very good. Come here and enjoy it.

Got the birria tacos. First time ever having them and they were amazing! Staff was so kind and got our food out quickly. Anytime I'm in the area I'll be coming back for sure.

The foods authentic and good. The service is good but they never have the a/c on and it can get pretty hot in there. We normally order take out from here if we're in the area . Only bad thing is if you eat there besides the temp is people always walking in asking people for money while your eating. And it's never just one person it's a few. That's so annoying.

When you enter the restaurant you are greeted with authenticity; each TV is displaying some iconic cultural fare. Brass blares through speakers accompanying a heartfelt Spanish ballad. A charreada is on another screen with a cowboy showing off. The scene was set.
Customers were many and varied. Locals from down the block, gringos (like me) clearly out of place, all sorts from all walks, but all here for the same reason: good damn Mexican food. This was encouraging.
I ordered birria, adobado, and asada tacos. The birria were excellent while the consomme was deep and rich. Light on the cheese, but not too light; just enough to entice me back for more. I washed this all down with an agua fresca, pineapple. Delicious.
I can't stress enough how much value there is to be had here. $15 was well enough to fill me up, but I have to admit I could've spent more time (and money) putting away taco after taco just to enjoy the scene.

The staff is very kind and quick! The cashier was kind and accommodating. I had tacos de birria and it tasted so amazing!! The best I've ever had! They are stuffed with a lot of meat and just enough cheese to make a flavorful impact. It also came with a side of cucumbers and radishes as well as consume. My husband and I will definitely come again!

Place felt pretty authentic especially on Lake Ave! Props for having bottles of Topo Chico.
A side note, I don't know if the AC is broken or turned off but it was stuffy and hot inside.

Can't explain the hold these tacos have over me 😮💨🤌. I've been here countless times and have never not enjoyed it. I always get the beef birria tacos with consome that comes with 5 tacos, sliced cucumbers and beets on the side, and a big cup of the consome (soup) to dip your tacos in. The price is definitely worth the time and effort the staff put in to making these delicious tacos 🙌
Their quesadillas, birria Burrito, fajitas, and fries are also all delicious if you're looking for more options to try out!

This place was amazing. Service couldn't be friendlier. Food portions are good and so are prices.
Somewhat easy street parking, there is a lot across the street too.
The place is clean and the ambiance is nice, of course it is Mexican oriented theme. That makes it more authentic. Nice to choose booths or table.
The menu is extensive and I tried ceviche and tacos and both were amazing. The ceviche plate was pleasantly surprising. Might be the best ceviche plate I have had in all of twin cities.
Flavors were right on point.
During my visit seems AC gets short with all the windows and a really warm day outside, this should be a minor thing happening maybe 4 weeks in a whole year in Minneapolis.
As with many restaurants I prefer refillable soda station. Overall the place is perfect with flavors and value. I will be a regular for sure.

My ABSOLUTE favorite tacos ever. The chicken birria taco special is so delicious. One of my favorite meals and I have taken so many people there because it’s so good! I couldn’t even take the photo before taking a bite because they’re so good 😂
