Review Tenka Ramen - Minneapolis

Alysson Hauer
I get Tenka at least once a week ever since I learned of its existence. Being a vegetarian can be very limiting but this is the best vegetarian ramen I have EVER had. I always get it with extra tofu - not because they dont give you enough but because I just love it so much! Its so crispy and perfect and fried to perfection yet the tofu is always perfectly cooked inside. Extremely reasonably priced and made very quickly!! Also pictured - mango bubble tea. Very good as well!

A cute little spot for ramen! I got shoyu ramen and takoyaki. Very authentic atmosphere! Takoyaki and the pork belly were very tender and delicious. Feels just like sitting in an anime scene. The server was nice and brought my food out hot and quickly despite it being a strange time of day.

A must for ramen. Chill, casual place for an excellent eat. Tonkotsu ramen and gyoza was top-notch! It's the best ramen I've eaten in uptown/midtown - Highly recommend. Great atmosphere. Limited table seating in the smaller space, but was not an issue at all on an early Tuesday evening. Very friendly service.

I ordered the chicken karaage and the shoyu ramen. The karaage was really juicy and the two dipping sauces on the side were extremely flavorful. For the ramen, the pork belly melted apart when it was consumed. Moreover, the broth was amazing and the noodles had the right firmness. The atmosphere was great with all the different Japanese decorations.

Just met the owner today - such an incredible hard working women. Love coming here for the food, service, and atmosphere. Definitely best ramen in Mpls.

We came here craving a hot meal on a day when the temperature was 0°F and were extremely satisfied. The place is small and cozy and you need to order at the counter before you take a seat. We started with Japanese Pork Bun and Gyoza. The Pork Bun was excellent and the Gyoza was delicious. We also had Spicy Miso Ramen and ended the meal with Taro Boba. Date of visit: Dec 27 2022

Yummy Japanese ramen! Due to inflation, price has gone up. Be ready to pay a few buck more but that’s everywhere now. Broth was very flavorful and the pork was tender. The tokoyaki was good and had lots of benito flakes. Small little restaurant, just order from the menu by the register and seat yourself and they’ll bring it out when ready. Would definitely go again.

Absolutely amazing. I drove 90 miles just for lunch it was that good the first time. Then brought friends the third time and one had to order a second bowl it was that good . I have no clue how he ate that much!!!!!! Their pork belly is what dreams are made of. Those who say others don't know ramen who give it a good review .. 🧐.... Every vacation I take we must as a rule stop at one candy store and eat ramen once if available wherever we are in the world...

Came into town for a business conference, on the last day, I had a few hours to kill and decided to grab some lunch and relax before facing the airport madness (turns out Minneapolis airport is superbly easy to get through and the staff had very friendly attitudes). I looked up for a ramen place and all of them in the city seemed rather expensive with mediocre food/portions. Another reviewer said this place had generous serving sizes, so I booked a Lyft and came to check this place out. The atmosphere is great, feels like a nice little family run ramen shop. Tip: the less fancy a ramen shop is, the more likely they have good tasting dishes. I made my orders and sat down, and my food arrived in less than ten minutes. Like the reviewers said, their normal portion is good, but if you get extra soup or noodles, be prepared to get absolutely stuffed! I'm the kind of guy who chomps down on a 24 ounce steak without problems, so imagine my surprise when I found myself super full after one tonkotsu with extra soup & noodles. It was basically a second serving without the toppings. 100% value for money. Takoyaki was pretty good; I never tasted the sauce they used before so I was caught slightly off guard, but nice and chewy center with crunchy skin is nothing to complain about. Enjoying delicious and hot ramen by the window while the cloudy cold winds blow outside was a perfect way to finish up my trip to Minneapolis, if I revisit some day, you bet I’m coming back here again.

I am so glad I found this hole in the wall here in Minneapolis. This place is beyond amazing. The ramen is so flavorful and each ingredient compliments each other so well, the bao buns are soft, and don’t get me started on the pork. Talk about melt in your mouth. I got the Tonkatsu ramen, Taro boba tea, and pork bao bun. Normally I am disappointed with bao buns but this place makes me want to come back for more. So good. Please take the time and make the decision to eat here! You will love it.

As an Uptown resident, I am so happy to have Tenka nearby. Great ramen, very fast, at a good price. And of the different ramen locations I've tried in Minneapolis, they have the best Chashu pork. Edit: Their takoyaki is also very solid.

My sister and I have been wanting delicious ramen and have had a difficult time trying to find one with decent reviews, prices, and hours. This is IT. The person who greeted us to take our order was so friendly, I wish I had grabbed her name. It's definitely a small place, but with the location, it's somewhat expected. The menu is also small but that's ok because everything is delicious. We had the gyoza, tonkotsu, and shoyu. I don't know if I've had a better tasting ramen up to that point. It's definitely worth trying! Thank you Tenka Ramen, we will be back!

Not only the food are great but also the staff. I forgot my purse in the restaurant and the lady who's the cashier/staff quickly ran to me and gave me my purse. They are also very polite and they made sure we enjoyed their food while we were eating! Great food, great staff!

BEST GYOZA I’VE EVER HAD. BEST FRIED RICE IN THE STATE. Can’t believe I’m just getting here now. Everything was so hot and prepared with love. I will be supporting TENKA as often as I’m humanly able.

The food is terrific! Service was fast and friendly. The open kitchen let's you see them cook the food. Some of the food was cooked with a torch which was cool to see. I s surprised how quick the food was served. Try the fried rice with pork. We asked for it food spicy and it was perfect. Give them a try next time you are in up town.
