Review The Tangiers - Minneapolis

I have visited this establishment many times and each time I come I always have good service and fantastic drinks. The Tangiers is perfect for happy hour and the lounge areas can host quite a large group of people if needed. All the small plates are fantastic. Their flatbreads are delicious as are their salads. I will return soon, love it here!

A friend recommended The Tangiers, for the atmosphere in particular, and we were not disappointed. The soaring timber posts, the exotic Moroccan inspired wall coverings, the long red draperies, and more all combined to delight the eye on a cold winter's night. There were 8 of us and we tried a variety of the foods. We loved the sweet and salty dates and the Bianca flat bread. We enjoyed the rest. The staff was attentive and engaging. The only glitch came at the end of dinner. The website invites guests to: "Join us at The Tangiers every Friday and Saturday for dinner and don't forget to try one of our signature martinis! For the late night crowd no need to rush off after dinner, the DJ comes on at 10pm and your night really begins!" Our dinner reservation was at 8. We were excited to stay for drinks and dancing after dinner. At about 915 our waitress told us we would need to vacate our table before 10 as all tables were cleared and reserved again at that time. It was a little bit of a surprise as we intended to stay and dance, based on what we'd read on their site. A couple of us moved to the bar to see if we could find seats there. Our waitress came rushing with the bill to those left at the table, possibly thinking we were going to dine and dash. I'm pretty sure the there was some mix up in charges and it left us all with a bad feeling. The mood was squashed and we ended up just leaving and calling it a night. We would return again because we loved the atmosphere and enjoyed the food. Some suggestions for how our awkward ending could have been avoided: 1. Make it clear on the site that tables may not available for dinner and into the late night. 2. Tell me when I make a reservation that I may need to move to the bar if I intend to stay beyond 10 pm. 3. Make the transition easy. If our waitress had said something to the effect of "We have this table reserved again at 10, would you care to move to the bar? I can take your payment here or move it over there," it would have created an entirely different feeling of being welcomed and cared for.

A decent night club with DJ, a dance floor and nice lounge areas. Not a good place for conversation but a fun time nonetheless. There is cover for guys, however girls get in free and drinks are reasonably priced.

Beautiful decor and a great place to hang out with friends on weekends. Fun music and large alcohol selection. It took a little bit of time to get served, but besides that we had a great experience there.

I attended a private party here, but that said, the food and staff were excellent. They made sure everyone was taken care of and plates were cleared on a regular basis. The food alone was worth going for even if the staff sucked it would be worth going back for.

Good atmosphere, DJ was alright, got the crowd moving. Drinks were on the high end for price. Staff was friendly, mostly positive.

The service was very good, the ambient appropriate and it was a great time. Music selection and mixes have room to improve.

Great food, great atmosphere and not busy before peak hours. Waited for food, but was worth the wait. Two Thumbs up!

Beautiful interior and great menus. If u don't like dance nights don't go Friday/Saturday

Looks like great HH menu from 5 - and 9-11 m, w, f with lettuce wraps and flat breads.

Loved the service, the atmosphere and the food. Everything was perfect. Will definitely be back!

This place caters to the service industry workers Waiters/waitresses, and the alike. Dimly lit but upscale.

My friend Tommy knows the owner. Great place!
