My new favorite bakery. Delicious, top quality pastries. Love the scones, muffins, cookies, various savory treats and chicken pot pies. Friendly and informative staff. You must try this place!
We love having this bakeshop two blocks from our house, though its not good for the waist line! The rotating selection of sweet and savory items are delicious, and I especially love their savory filled brioches. Max and Sandra are the nicest owners and neighbors and are very accommodating of special orders. We ordered 4 cakes and 4 pies from them for a party, and they made them all dairy free for us. They were absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. Savory is a wonderful small business to have in Longfellow!
Absolutely delicious! The menu is different each time I come with new things to try. Every time I go there is a line; a testament to how good this place is. My favourite - cinnamon rolls, savory scone and the rhubarb lemonade (when it is there)
A labor of love that has paid off, Sandra and Max earn the consistent lines of eager customers waiting for their turn at the ordering window. My favorites are the savory scones, but if you have a sweet tooth I recommend the lemon strawberry ricotta muffins
Also, Absolutely KILLER Pretzel Buns!!! We used them as the basis for a ham and cheese sandwich. Soft, full of flavor, makes for a great sandwich! I will order 1/2 dozen next time and freeze them. I feel like you could base a business on just these alone.
I have no reason to go anywhere else. They have cracked the code for texture, flavor, quality of ingredients, sweetness and saltiness. Their menu curation is always compelling. So glad to have this treasure of a bakery in the community!
I am very picky about my baked goods, and I have now found my favorite bakery in the twin cities! Cinnamon roll texture was just right, fluffy yet substantial, and the sweetness was perfect. I usually scrape off most of the frosting on cinnamon rolls because it's too sweet. Not the case with these babies! Savory scone was flavorful and texture was perfect, light and slightly crummy without being dried out. Pumpkin scone was delicious. Polish roll was a pleasant surprise with perfectly spiced peppery filling. Nom nom nom!
The long line was totally worth it! Fresh, flavorful baked goods are available at this neighborhood hidden gem. Service is friendly and fast. Get there early before everything sells out…
It's always worth the wait at Savory Bake House. Even at -6 degrees outside! The warm baked goods are wonderful at holiday time. Appreciate all the work Sandy and Max do!
It is truly such an amazing thing to have this place be in our neighborhood. It has become one of the highlights of our weekends to stop over and get some treats. The pot pies, soups and sandwiches as well as stuffed rolls are all amazing if sweet isn't your thing! I cannot recommend this place enough. If you haven't been before, make this a priority stop and fill up on their delicious menu.
My favorite bakery! Not only do I love it because of their amazing creations-- savory brioche, cheese and beef rolls, cakes to die for, muffins, scones, and bundt cakes, to name just a few-- but I also love Savory for what they bring to the neighborhood: a sense of community. Sandra and Max get to know their customers, raise funds for local causes and are our neighbors.Thank you for all that you do!
On that note, this place is popular so make sure you get there early-- they usually sell out before noon.
Savory is also seasonal, taking a break from approximately the beginning of June and opening back up the beginning of September.
Oh and P.S. if you follow them on Instagram they post the menu the night before. A really welcome addition when one is deciding whether to head out in winter!
Great snacks, friendly staff. I think it’s brilliant that they limit there hours early so when you go there everything is super fresh. It’s made for you to enjoy in that moment. Love this place.
