I recently dined at a restaurant and was truly impressed by the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure a delightful dining experience. From the moment I entered, they made me feel welcomed and valued. They were knowledgeable about the menu, provided insightful recommendations, and catered to dietary preferences seamlessly. Throughout the meal, they checked in regularly to ensure everything was to my satisfaction. This level of service undoubtedly enhanced my overall enjoyment of the meal, and I can't wait to return for another wonderful experience.

Went on a date here and the food was phenomenal! I'm pretty sure I had the best green curry I have tasted so far in the US. The spring rolls were also amazing. I will definitely be back!

Decided to try and catch happy hour before it ended at 6. My party and I were seated by 5:40. Our waitress didn’t come to our table until 6 on the dot. Not a great first impression. Food was good and the atmosphere was really nice. Just wished our waitress had explained to us why it took so long to even greet us. Whether it’s being short staffed or other issues being the reason, communicate with your customers.

Easy parking behind the restaurant which stands on a busy corner. There appears to be a second dining area which could be used for private events. The space itself at night is not very inviting. Lighting, table and booth arrangement, and decor did not appear to get much attention. The food, however was quite good. Typically extensive menu with several pages of Thai offerings. From the sushi menu, the crunch roll I had was large and tasty. The special rolls were all in the $17-18 range. Probably better as a lunch place, but worth visiting.

Food was amazing! Pineapple curry was bomb. Spice level was perfection as well. Slow building heat is my favorite.
(Pan fried) Gyoza was very good. Slightly crispier than I’m used to.
Japanese Mule was great as well, props to the bartender that made it. Great flavor.
I would normally knock a star because service was sub-par, but I can’t fault the server as I think he may need to see a doc for some ADD meds. His focus needs some serious help. Nice dude and seems like a hard worker, but memory skills and focus could use some help.
Can’t recommend this place enough though. Honestly the only reason left to visit the neighborhood.

Good eats!
I like that the pandemic has not prevented sober Fish from still providing the happy hour menu many places have scrap their menu.
The sushi is still amazing!
My only gripe was with the Thai basil fried rice I asked for it with pineapple and tofu and I got that! That part was great.
It just didn’t taste the same as I remember from some time ago it’s like it was missing a certain seasoning so it fell flat.
All in all a great place to eat an amazing service to match! We didn’t need a reservation as it was not busy so that made it easy!
Pro: no reservation fast seating still same great quality of sushi. Wait staff is amazing!
Con: even though it was not busy inside Sober Fish it’s very busy in the area parking may be a hassle.
I would say maybe skip the fried rice and go with a curry or noddle dish instead.

Sober Fish occupies the building that True Thai (a truly great Thai restaurant) occupied. Because we often ate at True Thai, it was impossible not to compare the two but because it had been over a decade since we last visited True Thai, it's also impossible to make an accurate comparison. That said, just looking at the menu shows that Soberfish doesn't serve the unique Thai dishes that populated the menu of True Thai but rather fairly standard fare available at mainstream Thai restaurants. However, after trying one of my favorite standard selections (chicken with fresh young ginger), I feel that their rendition of the dish was a cut above most Thai restaurants. The vegetables used were fresh, distinguished, and worked together well. The sauce was very flavorful and the portion size was generous. I would need to try many more of their offerings to make a fair comparison of Soberfish to my other favorite Thai restaurants. However, I would say that the Soberfish rendition of chicken with fresh ginger is about on par with the Thai Curry House rendition but in a different way (TCH simple goodness with outstanding sauce; SF interesting and flavorful vegetables and decent sauce). My tastebuds look forward to doing more research at Soberfish.
Here's my purely subjective comparison of Soberfish to True Thai: Soberfish has the same quality but with a standard Thai restaurant menu. If you want adventurous variety, look elsewhere. But if good renditions of standard Thai fare is what you seek, Soberfish seems to fill that niche very well.

Drunken wings, dynamite yellow tail sushi 🍣, holy basil fried rice with pork and beef. Ashai Japanese beer. Super delicious worth the trip & money every time. Complex flavors great made in house sushi.

One of my favorite sushi places in the twin cities. I will absolutely be going back. The presentation of the food was above and beyond. There is something for every price scale to eat here. The sushi and fish itself you can taste the quality. The service was amazing as well. I love how this hits a balance between homey and upscale. They even have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options!

The lunch special is a great buy as we ordered Vegetable Medley with chicken and wings, and Thai Holy Basil with Chicken and fresh spring rolls. Adding fresh herbs to the spring roll would make it more delicious. I loved the Thai Holy Basil as the vegetables were definitely fresh and cooked to perfection.
We came around 12:30 p.m. and the waitress and kitchen was slow. We waited 15 minutes or a little more. Make sure the bartender is helping if it picks up like it did before we left.

Soberfish has the best pad Thai in Minneapolis. A lot of pad Thai seems to have almost a ketchup-like base to it but Soberfish’s is nuttier in the best way. Their Happy Hour is awesome for food especially - really great deals 7 days a week. I typically just get their Pad Thai, but their sushi is also good, and when I come here with friends and they get something other than pad Thai 🤣, they are very happy too! I recommend dining in over delivery though. The freshly made stuff is just so much better (true of many Thai places tho).

I have now been to Soberfish three times. It is almost like having your own omakase if you go during the slower times and sit at the sushi bar. King is an artist!! Please see the photos.

Been here twice and service is awesome. Food is always consistent, fresh, and hot. Atmosphere is mellow and pleasant, however, would prob suggest more music in the background. On our second visit, the previous bartender who served us 3 months ago even came back to say HI, and welcome back. This means, they notice and care for your presence back!

I got drunken noodles and pad see ew to go. They were both yummy! The drunken noodles were my favorite while the pad see ew was good but I wish it was a little bit punchier in flavor like the drunken noodles were. The drunken noodles had a subtle spice which was nice but not at all overwhelming. Still everything was very yummy and and satisfying to eat! Our friend LOVES the curry and says he gets it every time!
