Review The Melting Pot Of Minneapolis - Minneapolis

My husband took me here for dinner tonight and it was our first time here as well as our first experience with fondue. He got us a reservation for two in a private little booth with a curtain. The booth was a little tricky for more than one person to get in and out but it was very cozy. These seats could probably hold three people my size (5'6", 145lbs) comfortably. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable with two exceptions. First, it was very hot. I didn't see any vents anywhere near us. Second, the bathrooms were messy. They were mostly clean but the sink areas in both men's and women's had water and paper towels all over. The food was amazing!! We had the "Bigger Night Out for Two". When the food first came out, with each course I remember thinking, "Is this going to be enough?". We finished eating an hour ago and I still feel quite full! Between this and everything else I did today, this day ranks in the Top 3 of all-time best days in my life and a large part of that goes to my experience here.

This was an interesting experience. Honestly I was not a fan of the whole fondue experience. Everyone has their own opinions, but I have to say the dessert was incredible. Sooo delicious and the waiter was super nice and understanding

My partner and I went here last night for our anniversary! Christopher was our server and he was an absolute delight. He created such a fun, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere. He was so attentive and gave us some great laughs. Christopher made our special night an absolute blast!! The food was fresh and delicious. This place is awesome- we will be back and asking for Chris!!! 10/10!

Oh my goodness this was beyond delicious! Impeccable service and solid vibes. Wisconsin cheddar to start, steak lovers for the entree and the flaming turtle for dessert. Just soooo yummy. Highly recommend!

The food was absolutely divine, the chocolate was the best i’ve ever had!! Like our waiter Ben described it; sinful and heavenly! Ben was awesome!! He explained everything clearly and was super nice!! Would definitely go back!!!!

My first time at a fondue restaurant with my husband and in-laws and it was lovely. Enjoyed all of the food. We ended up getting the bigger night out which was plenty of food for the both of us and a little bit of everything which we really enjoy!! The service and instructions for cooking were wonderful. We came in at 5 PM and happy hour was still going on which was nice as it was half off drinks 🍹 . I see how it can get pricey, but we’re not here all the time so we definitely wanted to make the experience worth it, which it very much was. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Came here for a 1 year anniversary. The table was set up super cute, there was a dozen red roses in a vase and additional rose petals on the table. We got the night out for two with lobster tail and thought it was definitely worth it to upgrade to this. Everything was good and really fun to eat. I wouldn’t say you go here because the food itself is exceptional, it’s definitely more so for the unique experience. Overall, it was a fun and novel experience that made the night special. Service staff was friendly and checked in often. Thanks for making our night special and fun!

My boyfriend and I have heard great things about the melting pot, so we decided to go for his birthday. I was really impressed with everything! Our server Chris was friendly and explained everything well. You get plenty of food and everything we ordered was freaking delicious. 11/10 experience I’ve already made another reservation for our anniversary.

First time to the melting pot with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Food is good. The whole experience was fun. Chris our server was fantastic. Poor guy has to work multiple tables.

My husband & I came in for my birthday & the Thursday date night special! We were running late due to bad weather & the hostess was lovely & understanding. Our waiter Ben was very helpful (it was our first time there). Ben guided us with grace through our first experience & explained everything very well & clear! The fondue was delicious, the meat / veggies / dessert fondue were all fresh and absolutely delightful. I also had the wine flight & the wines were all fabulous with all four courses. Highly recommend

One of the best expierences I've ever had! So worth the adventure!! Great food with a variety of options. We chose to do the Complete Expierence for 2. I got the classic signature and husband Pacific Rim with the oil and Alpine cheese fondue, for our starter. We totally enjoyed the Flaming Turtle chocolate fondue for dessert! Our server was so amazing. He walked us through every course. Id definitely go back!

Great place to go, especially if celebrating something. Great choices for each person and yet some sharing of the cooking pot. Also have some of their own creative cocktail recipes.

What a wonderful evening! We haven't gotten to go out with all of our friends since the kids were born, but we came out to the Melting Pot for my wife's birthday. Michael took such great care of us! His advice, service, and recommendations were all top notch. The food was a dream and we were so delighted to have a night all out together. Thank you Michael and Melting Pot for an unforgettable evening!

My husband and I came here today for Valentine’s Day! We had to make a reservation and I’m not sure if they take walk ins. Everything was so delicious! I loved how our host and server were friendly and showed us the best items on the menu. For appetizer, they brought out a cheese fondue, then salad, then our main course, then a chocolate fondue dessert. The sauces were also very good and may have been made at the restaurant! Of note, I think this is the only place in Minneapolis that didn’t check for vaccination cards so eat at your own risk. It was pretty packed too.

We dined here for the first time to celebrate our anniversary and the experience was exceptional. Chris made wonderful recommendations on both food and beverages and held a pleasant conversation with us while preparing our meals despite being busy. I was brought a different salad than what I ordered but was pleasantly surprised when the correct one was brought only moments after I made staff aware of the situation. We will definitely be recommending this place to friends!

My husband and I stopped in for Lunch. It was Amazing! Yum! We had Ian as our waiter and he was the Best! Very funny, kind, explained everything and was most helpful in our food choices. We will definitely be back!! Thanks Ian! 😊

I was in the cities for the weekend with my friends for my birthday and we wanted to try something new so we decided to try the melting pot. I understand when you go to a restaurant that has 4 courses that it’s going to take awhile...at the beginning our server was ok but once he gave us our entree course there was a table of 8 that sat down next to us and from that moment on he literally forgot he was still serving us also...we sat for 45mins with no water in our glasses and when he finally came back to our table after waiting for 20 mins for him to ask what chocolate we wanted he asked if we needed anything else with our party of 5 ALL with empty water glasses we had to ASK for water then it still took him 15 more mins for him to serve us water as he decided to make the cheese course that the table behind us had ordered I was appalled. I paid $60 for that meal and I couldn’t even get water it was terrible. I will never go back and I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Disappointed in my trip to The Melting Pot tonight. Brought my sister in for her birthday and waited over an hour between the first and third course meal. Our server forgot the second course meal. After our third course was served we asked about salads he replied “oh yeah“ then brought us the wrong salads. They weren’t that busy and we still needed to ask for more water. Definitely disappointed!!

Been to the melting pot 3 times and each time has been great! We have never had a bad experience and the atmosphere is absolutely phenomenal! Would totally recommend this place!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time and meal! We celebrated my 50th birthday and it was our first visit. Our server was amazing and we enjoyed the entire experience. We even ended purchasing the garlic and wine seasoning as it made such a great compliment to the best caesar salad we have ever had anywhere! My kids are now planning their birthday dinner next year at The Melting Pot!

We were a party of seven, seated at a table for six (at best). Very cramped, very slow/missing service. The food was nummy, so I will give two stars. The 20% gratuity was already applied, when our server barely earned 10%. Very disappointed. Will not recommend.

The servers were very robotic. Extremely nice folks but very automated in presentation and table side manor. The food was ok at best. The prices were crazy high for the quality and quantity received. I was more concerned with the lack of quality. The cheese looked like it was pulled out of a bag that you get at cub foods. It had the white powdery crap on it. I would never go back for dinner BUT I WOULD go back for desert and wine. So overall a 2. Desert I would give a solid 4. I am also a food snob and dislike chain restaurants. So please take that into consideration with my review. It was a fun experience once, but probably never again.

Always amazing!!! Been here 3 times and it’s to die for. Expensive but worth it. Also shout out to our server Calvin. He made it a very enjoyable experience!

Update June 2018: The Melting Pot reached out regarding my review below, apologized profusely for the poor service and sent us a generous gift certificate to give them another chance. We returned this past Saturday and it was clear they’d made note of our prior bad experience (as they should!). We were seated by a manager who then checked on us a few times throughout the evening to make sure things were going well and moving timely, as we had another show to catch at The Orpheum. Our food and drinks were prompt and delicious and our server, Joaquin, was great - especially attentive to my mothers GF needs as well, which had been sorely lacking the first time around. This experience was completely the opposite of our first! I have updated me review from a 1 to a 5. I really believe that we just had a poor server the first time around. We’ll be back for more of that turtle chocolate dessert! OMG! �� Thank you for righting what had gone wrong! Much appreciated! ��� April 2018: We had a 6pm reservation before an 8pm show at the Orpheum a few blocks away. Our server was slow and brought the potions in piece meal. Way too long of a wait between courses. We ended up having to leave after the third course and couldn’t have the fourth (chocolate) course that was the entire reason we went to the Melting Pot, because after an hour and 40 minutes, our sever still hadn’t even asked which chocolate we wanted. We asked if it could be removed from our bill and they gave us an $8 credit, not even half the cost of a chocolate course for two! Awful service, and the food was only ok. So disappointed. We would not go back.

The Melting Pot is our new pleasure! Normally we go and have the 3 course dinner of Cheese Fondue, salad and Dessert Fondue. Last night we were introducing my niece to fondue and added in the main course of Steak, chicken and Tuna....it was wonderful! Our server Zachary was nice, knowledgeable and very friendly. I highly recommend you requesting his services if you go!

Loved our food, waiter was okay and it took forever to get the menu as everyone was new except me but its been a few years for me so I forgot how it worked. Super hot in there cooking as there should be more AC going.

Had my 21st Birthday Party here and had the best time! Our waiters were great and the food was awesome!(: Highly recommend the s’mores fondue!

Food was great, staff was great! It was my daughters 18th bday and she loved it. The staff asked her what she wanted and made the entire meal about her 😁. She really liked how they mixed the cheese and chocolate at the table and explained what was going into everything. Thanks for a great evening!

Great experience. Had the four course and it was plenty of food. Quality of the beef and pork was very good. The chocolate fondue dessert was delicious. Service was a little lacking but decent overall.

I love it. I have been there many times. The food is always outstanding. The service went 5 4 3 2 1. My first time there our server was amazing, last night not so great. Also with the portions it seems like whether you go alone or go with 2 other people you still get the same amount of bread and veggies and stuff. I don't get that. And then you don't get to pick two different chocolates or cheeses when there's 2 people but you're both paying. I specifically asked last night so it did work out. I am so pleased with endless chocolate but I had to go to the bar to ask our server for more after we paid the bill. He didn't offer it when he brought the check. It was akward. I will go back. Favorite restaurant. I do wish it was cheaper, I would go way more often. Also it would be a dream come true if you opened one in like white bear lake or Maplewood. It's expensive to drive and pay for parking too.

My first trip to the Melting Pot and I was not disappointed. Very fun experience and the food was absolutely delicious. Our server was upbeat and fun! Only complaint was the long wait for our drinks from the bar. But it definitely didn’t ruin the experience. I will definitely be back.
