Food was great and the atmosphere. The 3 stars is solely based on the rudness of one staff member who did not want us seated where we requested. She told waitress in front of us that she needed to wait on us they couldn't do it. The waitress we had was wonderful. We will probably not return.

A lovely evening. Food was delicious. Don’t expect super thick steaks as these are hand cut here cooked perfectly and delicious. Sides and beverages as well as service were wonderful. Atmosphere gives you a sense of Virginia history with some original 1837 floors and other items in place. Regis
This is the first time I have visited Tavern on the Rail. What a magnificent place to dine with a ton of history on this building.
