I no longer live in Minden but I am seriously considering driving 1.5hrs just to get some lunch 💯💯💯💯💯

They have home made hot food ready to serve. The fried chicken was the way you wish you could make it at home. Great coating, moist & flavorful. Bobby served us promptly & helped us with our questions with a smile. We liked the speckled beans & hot water bread.
Don't be put off by the neighborhood or the outside. We felt welcome when we went in & Ms. Ernestine Moody even chatted with us.

Been a patron beginning in 1995.
Real food prepared by a sweet lady.

Over priced, over spiced, over cooked. With tip and tax over $12.00 for lunch! The pork chops were over spiced and a little over done. The greens were too sweet. Lima beans, over done but OK. Corn bread, they call it pan bread, dry and so so, nothing special. I was so disappointed, I really wanted to like this place. The people are friendly and the serices was great. Food, not so much.

We love Moody's! It's southern food and hospitality. It is where the locals eat. No it isnt fancy. Thank goodness. Come as you are. Order what you want, as much or as little. The tea is sweet and the fried cornbread is just like momma used to make.

One of my favorite restaurants anywhere in the world. It's nothing fancy -- a meat and two veg kind of place. But Miss Ernestine and her crew sure know how to cook and serve a delicious meal. The hot water cornbread, greens, and pork chops are my favorites. Get there early -- some stuff sells out quickly.

Really liked the people. Real down home southern food. Hot water cornbread, iced tea, homemade pies, assorted veggies, baked chicken and dressing, meatloaf, chicken and dumplings....omg! You have to have a slice of pie! Leave the coconut alone. That's MINE! 😃

My friends, family and I have been enjoying the wonderful dishes served up by Ms. Ernestine and her lovely staff for over 20 years. A must stop if you're in Minden. Thursday is Chicken n ' Dumplins day, but you will be able to find many delicious, soulful dishes any day you decide to go. Make sure to try the hot water corn bread.
