I'm going to have to disagree with the poster Adam Berger - not sure what his experience is.
I worked as a teacher at Mercan Chinese Language Institute's sister school in China. The school was great, the students were committed, hardworking and fun, and the wages were actually quite good, especially for China. I also got to know the owner Wang Dun, who was always very kind and welcoming - he introduced me to his family, helped me get accustomed to Chinese culture, and took time to make sure I had a great experience.
