This place was better than I expected. Went on a Sunday night with family from out of town. It's not meant to be kid friendly but worked out. It is more bar than restaurant. Comfortable with plenty of seats. No reservations are needed. Sat and Sun are 1/2 price 12 inch pizzas. The one thing I strongly recommend is to get fries instead of chips if entrée has a choice. I'm pretty sure the chips are Ruffles Original. Multiple tvs to eat and have a couple of beers while watching some games. I highly recommend it.
Staff very friendly and attentive. Menu is well laid out, with details for toppings, additions or upgrades for your dish (no funny business).
I had the Colonel hamburger with Cajun fries. Burger was great- thin bun, cooked medium well (default). The fries were tasty, but a little over seasoned, so quite salty, and I love salt.
Wife enjoyed her burger with the sour cream and chives, which were very good-nice crusty shell on them.
Only bummer was that my tap beer was kinda warm (50's F) and her did diet Coke was flat, no fizz.
Otherwise an overall decent meal for $35. Would like to try the fish fry.
A late lunch. The best hamburger I have ever had. Loved the corn bites, a first timer on those and I want more. Service was excellent. We mentioned we were sharing a burger. They cut it in half, put the half burger, fries and a separate coleslaw in each basket for us. We had moved outside with our drinks to catch some sun and they brought the food out to us. Highly recommend.
Hands down the best dive bar in town! Staff are always in a good mood and having fun. It's been our go to for years! Absolutely have to try the bar pizza, puts others to shame.
I ate here just a moment ago from posting this. 10/30/23. Went down there around 9:45pm. Had a long day. Like....really long...anyway. just needed to be among people but not "with" people. One of THOSE days... 😂 anyhow...the young lady who took care of me was incredible. I had put in my headphones and was eating a pizza that was too big for me whilst watching Netflix and decompressing. She recognized I wanted space and she kept her side eye on me and was immediately responsive to any requests without bothering me with incessant chatter. Some days I like that the conversations. Today I wanted solitude in the crowd but while still being noticed enough to get a drink and some food and SHE NAILED IT!!!
The food was just okay. I got a burger and fries. The fries were good, but the burger could have been cooked 5 minutes longer. It was quite rare. I wasn't even asked how I wanted my burger cooked. There was no salt, pepper, ketchup, or mustard on the table. I received a small cup of ketchup and no mustard with my burger. We had to ask the bartender for the condiments. The bartender did if we wanted refills on our drinks. I probably won't go back for food.
Wonderful special each day. 1st time visiting on a Monday . $5 beef or chicken hard and soft. Starts at 5pm. Nice selection of beverages. Thanks for such a nice time.
Anna is the best bartender in all of Wisconsin. No one could make you feel less alone, more welcome, and just like you belong no matter where you are. A special star in a dark dismal sky. Keep her.
Great place with friendly staff. The supporters group, The Flood, for FC Milwaukee Torrent who play across the street at Hart Park meet at this bar before and after matches. We’re always met with cold beer and hot food! Thanks for the service and we’re looking forward to continuing to grow our relationship.
Great Wisconsin Greasy Spoon. Patty melt and Shroom & Swiss were on point and don't miss the seasoned chive fries!

This place is probably the best bar in Wisconsin even though they didn't have any dogs when I went there. The staff seem like they would like dogs so that's a major plus. They also offer pizza which dogs and humans agree is pretty great.
Bar tenders are cheerful, quick, and can name at least 3 different types of dogs.
I suggest the city offer an official promotion from Colonel to Field Martial.
Their jukebox also features music dogs would like and good old-fashioned dog-themed songs.
I also heard the owner can do a kickflip, which is pretty sick.
This place has always had good consistency with their food and service. We come here on a regular basis. The prices are good and love spending time watching a sports game, eating good food or just having a good time time to enjoy a drink.
Best hidden gem in the Village. The half price pizza on the weekends is a major steal. Also a great place to watch a game with some friends
Great food at great prices. I wss pleasantly surprised by all the options. This is a great local place to try out. A warning to beer lovers is their selection for beer on Tap isn't very large. I can't say enough good things about my vodka lemonade. There lemonade was amazing.
