Great food!!! Some of the best salsas and hot sauces around, and all the food is fresh. I highly recommend.

The tamales are the best I've ever tasted. You know I've had tamales that has you crying out for water not because their spicy because their so dry like the dessert dry and gets stuck on your throat. Well this restaurant makes moist tamales . The tacos are fresh and juicy . The juice is made freshly not out of a can . Their desserts are fluffy and delicious. The owner is very respectful and friendly. The business is family owned. It's simple and humble . Their just beginning with their restaurant, like I said it's humble. They make you feel like your home. Like like other restaurants that make you feel like a stranger or dollar signs.. Also their meat is not chewy it's very tender and juicy. , all ingredients they use are fresh. I will continue going . I give it an A+
Very good food. The salsa and chips were tasty, and the staff was friendly. This is my go to Mexican place in Milwaukee. The food quality is hard to beat.
I have had lunch and dinner here and have found everything delicious! Their corn tortillas are handmade and every meat I've had is incredible.
The atmosphere isn't fancy, and it is comfortable and gracious.
My only hesitation in leaving a glowing review is increasing my wait times when I come back!

My husband introduced me to this place a year ago when we were dating. We eat there multiple times a month; it is our go-to for Mexican Food. They know his face and mine too now. Family friendly, family run; you can not ask for more !
I love this place! I eat here at least once a week, and it's always delicious. Their corn tortillas always taste amazing, and the barbacoa de Res (chunky beef), and chicharrones (I'm guessing I didn't spell that right, but it's pork skin in a mild red sauce) are always juicy.
Their sauces are good and spicy.
The rice is nice and fluffy, and their chips and salsa is a treat.
Their tamales and chimichangas are also phenomenal.
The service is good, even when it's busy.
This place is a staple in my weekly diet, and comfort food after a hard week of work. I'm thankful for it's existence.
I would also like to add that my significant other has a seeing eye dog, and they were accommodating, which is very important for folks in the blind community.
I’d been craving Barbacoa for a while and found Chilango Express LLC, I was shocked to find barbacoa and menudo in the mid west, so I had a half pound of barbacoa and a bowl of menudo, barbacoa was great and so was the menudo but they could of cut the pork fat a bit smaller and added hominy. Other than that everything was good, will definitely come back if I’m the area.

Uhm, yum, yum yum yummy! I used to go to Chilango Express when it was connected to the gas station on 68th St. I have not been there since they opened their new place. Their new place is obviously a lot bigger and has plenty more seating. The customer service was still great if not better. I immediately asked if they still make their corn tortillas fresh in house and the answer was YES! So that immediately made me happy! They are currently a mask required restaurant with a smaller capacity seating due to covid, which is okay with me. I had the Friday fish fry special but had them grill it uncoated, with Nopales (cactus) and mushrooms on top. The fish is steamed then placed in a pan and fried. It is a tilapia which I also don't mind. I have to say this tilapia was super super I mean super juicy and beyond tender! I mean it was so soft and flakey that it basically melted in my mouth! Then with the nopales, mushrooms and some lime, I want to be hungry again writing this just so I can go back and get more! Oh then have it all on a homemade tortilla! I can't stop! I need more! Okay okay, my wife had chicken enchiladas with mole sauce and the mole sauce was perfect. I believe it paste based then made fresh at the restaurant. This sauce is probably the best mole I have had in a restaurant in a long time. My wife loved her dish! My son had chicken tacos on homemade tortillas and when he took his first bite his eyes opened so wide and he said, Dad this is so good! Excellent food is all I have to say! Oh and for the veggie eaters they still have plenty of veggies only options like pumpkin flower tacos, corn truffle and more!

I think the server was new. I'd ordered the chiles rellenos dinner and to my surprise was told that it came with 3. I then ordered the fillings and sauces. A bit later, I was informed that the dinner only came with 2 chiles. No harm done. My meal was still delicious. During my meal, I'd noticed I didn't have flatware, and the server apologized. It happens even on a slow day. You get plenty of chips and salsa. I'd still go back with my other half because the food is scummy, the tortillas are handmade, the food is authentic, and the location is near our home. I'd have added photos, but I was too hungry!
I have gone to Chilango Express multiple times and each time was better than the last. My husband and I ate there last night - I got the Chilango Dinner extra meat and my husband got the Sope. First off the amount of food you get is insane, the extra meat was such a great price, the guacamole (wow) - not sure if made to order but it was the freshest guacamole I've had all summer. Overall an amazing restaurant to eat at! highly recommend!
Great flavors. Tortillas live up to the reputation. Good prices. Service was attentive. Overall solid dining experience.
