My friend and I came her for dinner last night -- delicious! We debated getting the fried chicken -- it smelled WONDERFUL and the dinner looked heavenly... but if we did that, there'd be no room for appetizer or pie. So maybe next time... and maybe then we'll try the floats -- root beer or orange, with bourbon or rum added in -- but this time, we shared an appetizer of fried cheese curds with tomato jam. Unusual pairing, but so, so good. And the curds themselves were delicious, with a light, crispy batter and lovely melty insides. Kept the cheese theme going with a PBLT -- a BLT with pimento cheese. Best pimento cheese I've had since leaving Tennessee... I saved half for lunch today (and it was just as good today, warmed up). That left room for the legendary pie. My friend got salted honey, and I got the black & blue (blackberry/blueberry)... and we asked for a knife so we could split them in half. Salted honey was a custardy pie that reminded me of a rich chess pie, with the salt offsetting the sweet. I'd never had blackberries and blueberries in a pie, but this pie made me question what took so long to realize that they were MEANT to be together. My bourbon old-fashioned was ALMOST enough to convert me from my brandy preference. Can't wait to come back here when it's a little warmer for the outdoor tables overlooking the park and Lake Michigan. Thanks, Palomino!
The food here is amazing. Great servers and real bartenders with great attitudes. The cocktails are put together with love, care and accuracy. The food is southern inspired with great fried chicken, farm to table with the local farmers,and suppliers. The menu is small but it really does appeal to everyone. A very vegan friendly restaurant. Everything is made from scratch, even the pickles, burgers are 100% brisket ground in house.
This fish fry is amazing!! We also enjoyed the fired pickles and wings. I’d highly recommend this for anyone looking for a yummy Wisconsin fish fry.
First off, the staff here are phenomenal! Super welcoming and outrageously helpful. I asked if they had a flight of whiskey available and they helped make it happen, and they've got a great selection of whiskey. Also, the hot fried chicken is delicious!

Oooooooh man what a great place. The food choices were fabulous, and an Amazing original take on many of the entrees. The the food was tasty and hot, except for the salad Which was delicious but not hot 😁, The vinegarette was magnificent! Delicious French fries, I had a triple Burger And fries done to perfection, my wife had the fried pickles and the fried artichoke garden salad. A couple of ice cold Miller's, and my wife had her water and coffee as usual. Honorable mention for the coffee, some of the best I've had out!
The sticker says hate free zone, And, they were correct. I met some really interesting people and had a couple of really enjoyable conversations. This is how strangers should interact, love your neighbor!
There is a reason this crew gets props for their cheese curds. Delicious! The Mexican street corn side was great as well. A great add on to get to share if you’re dining with a friend as it’s a generous portion. Hot chicken sandwich has homemade pickles that I could eat all day!
So excited that this place is serving food again. Although they are only serving their brisket burger, hot fried chicken sandwich, tots and pie...they are all excellent choices! Looking forward to going back again, even if it's just for a sandwich.
Stopped in to get a quick bite to eat before a show. PHENOMENAL brisket burger & fries. Super tender & juicy. Almost had to order a second one. Highly recommend!
Palomino is a great local bar in a fantastic neighborhood in Bayview. Unpretentious, Palomino is purported to have a good kitchen, but we didn't eat on this particular evening. Henry was our barkeep when I sat down with two friends. He served great drinks and answered my questions with aplomb. I love living in Bayview.
Food and service are always good! Fried chicken is delicious, definitely one of the main reasons I like to go.
Drinks are also well served and the outside seating offers a more casual dining experience.
Family loves it so I sent out the wedding invites. Love the vegan & vegetarian options. Great drink selection - currently limited, but strong & delightful to sip. Ate here solo & the intersection gave plenty of entertainment. Fantastic food & fun outdoor dining atmosphere.
Great service, crispy, fluffy tots. I got the beyond burger for the first time and I'm just not a fan- not palomino's fault! When I ate meat, I used to get their double brisket burger and it was *chef's kiss*.
They also have Oatmeal Cream Pies (OCPs as I affectionately call them) and they were very tasty. If they ever don't have them and you're craving an elevated experience, check out Baked Whims. Lisa sometimes makes them and they're so tasty.
