Maxie's - Milwaukee - Photo album

Friendly staff and great meal. Ribs, gumbo, chicken, peel and eat shrimp were very good. Very nice sized menu and very good creole food. Good inside and outside seating.
They have $1 oysters for Happy Hour daily! We got two kinds - Opus and Acadian Pearl. We are not too knowledgeable about the different oysters, but they were both so good and full of flavor. Was tempted to order more, but we’ll come back! BBQ St. Louis Spare Ribs (half rack) Hickory smoked, tangy K
I believe our waitress was Alex; she was wonderful, patient, and kind. My father, sometimes, can be difficult deciding what he wants to order, funny for me, but requires patience from a waitress, but Alex was stellar. What we ordered: Appetizer - New Orleans BBQ Shrimp - the sauce melts in your mou
Everything was delicious. We started out with the complementary corn bread, it was very good! It felt like we were eating dessert first. Always a good start to a meal. We ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, the breading was perfect. My husband ordered the catfish po'boy he really liked it.
I was here with a group of about 15 for a birthday. The staff was friendly. The food was great and everyone liked their meals. They are able to provide gluten-free options on a lot of their dishes. The drinks seemed a bit watered down with too much ice. I will definitely try it again.
Maxies food is great! Loved all the food we got. Honestly though, the service is something to rave about. We had Ryah as our server. She was absolutely fantastic. She knew the menu so well and guided us through the entire experience. Her warmth just truly made mine and my fiancés experience. We will
The place is legendary in my world, just the mere mention of the name conjures dreams of jalapeno margaritas, icy trays of oysters, steaming fried chicken and amazing catfish. My partner and I reserve it as a special monthly treat and always leave feeling absolutely relaxed and comfortably stuffed.
This place is amazing. Trust me you will not be disappointed with the drinks. The service and the food is top notch. The food is very flavorful and tasty. This is like my fourth time going. I will definitely go back again. It’s like a Louisiana style restaurant with a twist. Keep up the good work.
Was an amazing experience. Our server was great as was the food.
This will always be in rotation for us. Closest thing to New Orleans style oysters in town. Great atmosphere and great food. Highly recommend the Tofu “Wings” for my vegetarian friends!
Two different friends named this place when asked for dinner recommendations, and I was not disappointed. A quick glance at the online menu, and I had to be there. We came during happy hour and tried oysters for the first time ($1 oysters during happy hour)! They are surprisingly less disgusting th
We'd been wanting to get in to Maxie's, so in order to get a reservation with only a day's notice, we decided to take an early dinner (4:15pm). Upon arriving we were seated immediately. The restaurant had just opened, but the dinner traffic had already started, and by the time we left shortly after
I love this restaurant! All the food is amazing! I try new things each time and now half the menu is my favorite. They also have the best Friday Fish Fry in town. Three large delicious pieces of fish with waffle fries, can’t get any better. No need for ketchup, use the tarter sauce for your fries! D
I had the shrimp and grits. It was wonderful but it is spicy. I like spicy so it was perfect for me. The service was great. Our table was way off by the bathroom, so it wasn't the best spot, but it was fine. Make a reservation. It is busy.
The perfect environment for trying oysters for the first time. They always have two types of oysters. They have a great happy hour drinks and oysters. Food is fenomenal. You get sooo much delicious yummy food on your plates every time. Great dessert options too, it's always changing so you get a cha
Maxie was a very I treating resturant. Definitely a creative menu and not your average type of dishes. It took pieces of New Orleans and put their own twist to it. I went on $1 Oyster night and happy hour. The oysters were fresh. The service was Awesome. The food was a hit and miss o some dishes. M
We recently dined at Maxie's with some friends whom we are travelling to New Orleans with in Oct. The guys enjoyed raw oysters in the half shell at the bar. Neither of the guys had ever tried raw oysters and said they were quite good. The decor of the restaurant is very inviting with a country feel.
