Review El Gallero Mexican Restaurant - Milan

Great atmosphere and very clean. Great service and quesadillas!!

The ABSOLUTE worst service we have ever experienced. The food is mediocre to begin with.. I asked for nachos - to add shrimp. They told me NO. NO they could not do that. My husband and I were willingly offering to pay extra for the scrimp and they still continued to tell us NO. We have always went to this same restaurant and will never be back. The last couple times have gotten worse and worse anyways.

I honestly have no idea how this place has more than one star. The food is mediocre at best and the service is atrocious. Our waiter today was above and beyond rude. One of the parties at our table was charged $26 for 4 tacos and a dessert. The other party was basically told that they weren't going to fix their order even though the kitchen sent out the wrong food. The manager stalked our table nd kept glaring at us while we sat and talked after eating. It was absolutely the most bizarre dining experience ever. I'm not exactly sure how they maintain 2 locations considering the low quality food and the pathetic customer service. I'm sure there are other restaurants who appreciate their customers and I'll take my business to them the next time I visit the area.

I used to frequent this place back when I lived in Milan over 8.5 years ago. I don’t know what has happened since then, but this is absolutely the worst Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to now! First, I didn’t know there was a Mexican joint that didn’t have margaritas… Second, the waiters didn’t speak one word, almost robotic acting. Ordered 2 taco salads one with beef the other with chicken. Within 30 seconds they were bringing them out. They were ice cold, watery, and both chicken. Told the waiter that one was supposed to be beef and asked if I could just order something else for mine. He shook his head no! I asked to speak with someone else. He comes out and I explain the issue again. He tells me we don’t have beef. I said it says on the menu “beef or chicken”. He says not today and I can’t order anything else! By this point, my whole table was ready to fight these people!!! Long story, short: They ended up taking that slop back and letting me order something else! Lmao - And, then they had the audacity to ask as soon as we got up if there was a tip left! Smfh

Nice place for Sunday lunch. Had the Beef Taquitos, and enchiladas supremo 😋. Good sweet tea also. must try this place, if you haven't 😉
