I wondered why we liked this place.
It's owned by the same people that own Family Restaurant in Davenport.
They have consistently good food and they ship desserts in from Chicago instead of setting for frozen. That's rare these days. Most restaurants have done away with dessert or pastry chefs and
It doesn't look like much from the outside. But, it was one of the best meals that I've had in the area.
We did their liver and onions. So few people have it on a menu anymore. It's the best that I've had in years.

Didn't care for food. They crossed it off bill and then went to register and they charged me 6.50 for my bowl of soup. Waitress was very nice !Not the host. She was not friendly at all. Won't be back! Salad bar very dirty food mixed in with each other and even dried up pickles
We stopped at Welcome Inn for breakfast. They have a very good breakfast menu. The service was excellent and the food was very good. It was fresh, hot, and prepared properly. The prices are what you would expect. We'll be going back.
We had a family dinner/ bday with about 30 people Monday evening. Waitress was slow, mixing up orders. Female owner was pushy, taking plates that only had been set 5 mins ago, without asking, we asked about certain plates and why they were taken away, she commenced arguing right away and was rude,

This place The Welcome Inn has absolutely the worst service EVER!!!!! We were there after a funeral today with a pretty big group. The older host lady that greeted us when we walked in was an absolute grouch, and rude. Had a fit when I asked for another hot chocolate for my father. Pretty sad I felt
