This was the best night here so far and I have never had a bad experience... The freshly made salsas were AWESOME,,, some of the best I have ever eaten... The service was on point,,, not hovering but there when we needed!!! If you like good food,,, a great atmosphere and good service you have to give El Cerro Azul a try... You will not be disappointed!!! When you go make sure you try the salsa bar...

Did a lot of asking around googling looking for quality Mexican food. Reviews in Richmond can be quite confusing but I believed in what I was seeing here so we went.
And they did not disappoint at all! Starting from the amazing Shrimp Tostadas with Black Bean Spread through to the Pork Chili Verde. Quality food all the way! They serve plenty of the old faithfuls here for those looking for a cheese Quesadilla, but we were looking for more authentic and they delivered on every front.
And the Guadalajara Margarita was amazing. Will be hard to not get that every time we return, which will be soon!

Got the fajita tacos and frozen mango margarita to go! Food was delicious and it came with chips and salsa on the side for free which was nice. Only issue was the frozen margarita that seemed to only be margarita mix and no alcohol which was disappointing.

So this is the Arroz Con Pollo "Dinner Portion". I can tell you right now from experience, this is LESS food than the lunch portion. The problem I have is that I pay more money for less food. Half a box of lettuce is a space filler and a rip off. I thought I would give this place one last chance because I like the taste, but the execution is never the same and is overpriced for the portion. I paid $17 including tax for this plate and a Jarritos.

Hands down the best tasting Mexican meals in all of Richmond and Central Virginia. No joke. Pro tip for you - get the Enchiladas Verdes. My all time favorite.
