Review Sakura Japanese Restaurant - Miami

Nancy
We stopped by this cute little Japanese restaurant after a long day. The sashimi was fresh and delicious, but the rest of the dishes we had were just ok. The tempura had too much batter, the sushi roll had too much rice. However, the prices are very reasonable. You can get 2 sushi rolls for the price of one sushi roll in Brickell. Service was friendly too.

Old traditional Japanese restaurant. Walking in there made me feel in Japan for a few minutes. Small place, quite popular and it seems to be hidden since I never heard about it, is mostly known by locals who have lived nearby for many years. The food was very good, the miso soup was tasty, the rolls were excellent and the sashimi super fresh. I will come back, nice place and the prices are very good. One of the waitress seemed a bit pushy at the beginning but she ended up being very nice and hospitable

Sakura was excellent. Very tiny restaurant .... maybe like 5 or six tables. With a specials board and a rather large menu this restaurant packs a lot of flavor. After reading some other reviews for this restaurant I had a few things I wanted to try. Number one being the Enoki mushrooms... WOW.. they were the best!!! I can see why people said dont eat with your eyes. Maybe not the best looking mushrooms but flavor wise.... The Best. This alone will make me come back to Sakura. Also nice but a bit small was the Larry roll (rice less). But we ordered a few other things to make up for it. The Sakura mix plate brings sushi, sashimi, California roll and a thinly sliced fish in like a ponzu sauce that was also good. Ginger salad, clear soup, edamame and miso soup very standard preparations. All very good and service was excellent. Definitely a good place to come for sushi. I hear their cooked meals are also notable.

I've been coming to this place my entire life, and even now I think they have some of the best sushi money can buy in Miami. A genuine neighborhood gem. The owner and chef have known me by name for the last 30+ years I've been visiting. Don't settle for the other sushi chains, get the real deal for a good price at a locally owned spot. You won't be disappointed.

Been going for over 20 years. Sue and her team are like wonderful people offering service and a smile. Reasonable pricing for Sushi and a comfy small spot. Not huge variety but a good selection of the necessary staples for a great Sushi meal. In a heartbeat recommend!

Sakura is an amazing, smaller restaurant with staff that treat you like family. I've been going here since I was a kid, and every time I go in it feels like no time has passed. They also make the best volcano roll I have ever had. Wonderful place with great food!

Love this place, sushi is always delicious, friendly staff and very good prices. Interesting that all the Sakura restaurants are independent so don't make the mistake thinking the menu is the same at all of them. This one is probably the best in my opinion, hot towel for your hands when you arrive, food is freshly prepared and some of the best sushi around.

Best 🍣 in Miami! Period. Full stop. This is as fresh as it comes without catching it yourself. Absolutely my all time favorite sushi restaurant. The service is terrific, too. The only downside is the size of the restaurant and the fact that they don't take reservations. The restaurant only has about 12 tables, many for two people, as well as a sushi bar you can sit at. If you end up waiting, stick it out. You'll be happy you did. My favorite dish is their Chirashi Tokyo. It's a bowl plentiful with sashimi on top of white rice.

Small space but nice neighborhood feel and delicious food. The owners know many of the patrons by name. I especially love their Tone Roll and Tsukemono. I dine here at least once a month and have never been disappointed.

Best Japanese restaurant around. The lady is very sweet and my family has been going here for more than 5 years. Delicious food and lovely staff. They’re the best. Cant go to any other Japanese restaurant!

The fish is always very fresh and delicious. The menu offers a great variety, with great combinations but does not go overboard with options. Green tea is fantastic. The octopus sunomono is the best I have tried in all of my travels. The tempura ice cream is brilliant. Great miso soup. The restaurant is tiny and does a lot of take-out. They play nice Japanese music. I recommend, highly

It's been difficult to find a place that serves authentic sushi ever since relocating to Miami 8 years ago, and this place finally hits pretty close to my standards. The rolls are your standard price, the fish is fresh, just don't get too carried away ordering roll after roll, or you may end up spending a lot, lol.

We've ordered from here quite a number of times, and for the most part it has been pretty darn fresh and tasty. I didn't give the place five stars because they charge $2.50 for kimchee sauce, and I think that it's ridiculous when I am already paying $18 for sushi one.

Sakura is a wonderful gem that consistently has some of the freshest tasting sushi out there, everything is wonderful !! If your not Into raw food they have a wonderful cooked selection of food as well. You should certainly try the salmon terryaki and miso soup. The restaurant is accommodating about 25 people max but it's an intimate spot. The service is always pleasant and quick.

Best sushi in Miami, and the smallest one. No pre-cut fish here, every dish is taken seriously and done right every time. Every plate is put together with meticulous care, like a food painting. You need to sit in the sushi bar to really appreciate it.

This is my favorite sushi place. I always get the Georgia Heat or a plain Shrimp Tempura Roll. Service is sometimes slow but it's so worth it for the food! I recommend eating sushi rather than the hot meals because it is their specialty.
