Great little breakfast and lunch joint. We had very friendly service and good food at a great price. I was disappointed they were out of ingredients to make the Cuban sandwich, but the vaca frita and the colada were both good.
Large breakfast with coffee and tip - $11. What a bargain in downtown Miami. It's a local dive complete with fix round barstools at a counter. I had two eggs scrambled (though it seemed like 3-4 eggs), bacon, (i passed on the fries or hashbrowns), and Cuban toast. Coffee too. I'm staying at the Intercontinental Hotel where the breakfast buffet is something like $45++.
So how was it? The staff were fantastic. Nice. Helpful. Pleasant. The environment was fun - reminded me of a 50s style restaurant. And the food was all things good... Tasty, plentiful, and hot.
It's a postage stamp sized place so if you blink as you walk by you'll miss it.
In downtown Miami you have a contrast between the new high end glitz and the old school. Las Palmas represents the Old School in a Cuban sort of way. There you can get a Cuban coffee for less than a dollar and at that point you realize you have found a pretty cool place. Certain nothing is fancy but there is something awesome that this place has survived.
The most affordable breakfast & its hands down better than the other expensive places we tried this week.
Local. Outdoor dining. Friendly.
Pleasurable experience
This is definitely a hole in the wall type place. Went for a late breakfast instead of the hotel where we were staying. The service was great and the food was good, but not great. The coffee was fantastic however. As far as Cuban spots downtown, I think this is a great option. I would definitely go again.

The best Cuban coffee in town! Excellent service and authentic breakfast. Outdoor and indoor options for dining. I wanted to take a picture of the food but it was impossible to contain myself. It is that good.
Went again for the second time and the place looks more organized and it’s still delivering great food. Although the staff it’s very professional and it’s always attentive and clean they did TOOK THE ORDER WRONG and forgot one item I had specifically asked for. They also took very long (over 20mins) to have the food ready when the first visit was quicker. Overall I LIKE THIS PLACE.
I LOVE THIS RESTERAUNT CAFETERIA. VERY DELICIOUS MEALS. LIKE BEING HOME AND HAVING DINNER WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS YOU GROW UP WITH. SO FAMILIAR MEALS AND TASTE. THANK YOU.
Dropped by for breakfast, and I absolutely loved it. Delicious food, fast service, and the staff were all really friendly. Eating here made me wish I had access to more Cuban food, because it's wonderful.
Gracías, Las Palmas! Vuelvo enseguida.🇨🇺

Relax, Take 5 and have a “Cortadito” – the best one in downtown Miami.
.
Okay, so here is the download on Las Palmas Cafeteria.
.
Imagine you are walking in downtown Miami: chic restaurants, cool cafes and every other store is a shop selling electronic goods beaming neon red, blue and violet glitzy lights READING “buy here!”
.
The busy streets makes your mind even busier.
.
Las Palmas Cafeteria doesn’t have the best dish presentation but it certainly has an authentic Cuban taste and homemade flavors to their menu.
.
If you are hungry and are on a budget Las Palmas is by far the most economical place in downtown Miami to have a full, great meal at an awesome price. Tasty and nice size portions.
.
When I worked in downtown, this was my favorite place to enjoy a break in the day and do a little people watching while enjoying my coffee. All of the locals meet up for coffee breaks at any given moment.
.
The street-side counter serves express items. if you want a quick “Café con Leche” and a cigarette, which they sell by the units at $0.50 each.
.
The cafeteria is narrow with limited setting at a few tables and counter. Lunch time is busy time at Las Palmas. Some executives can’t afford to leave their offices, so they get plenty of calls during the lunch rush hour.
.
If you do want to grab lunch here be prepared to wait at least 10 – 15 minutes, but they do serve you a slice of Cuban bread toast with butter while you wait.
