Review The Fish House - Miami

I’m surprised this wasn’t one of the first places I reviewed. This is one of my favorite places in Miami. I have lived about 10 minutes away from it for years. I feel lucky to have this gem near me. I love Gilbert’s in the keys for their Piña Coladas, views and blackened chicken wings . That being said you don’t always have time to drive that far . When you go to the Fish House you feel like you’re in a seafood restaurant in the keys .They have an amazing fish dip and their Shrimp linguini is the stuff you crave for on any day . If you are not a local ask for their creamy garlic sauce for the linguini. They don’t have it on the menu but if you ask most of the times they are happy to do it for you . I’ve only been told no once and was so bummed because my favorite dish didn’t taste the same . I went yesterday and had it . It was amazing as always . My son went for the snow crabs but didn’t get them because the price really went up from when we use to go . They went from like $22 to $45. We use to come a lot when he was little and would order them . We hadn’t come back in a bit so we were a little shocked by the price but this place is still worth going. You won’t regret coming here .The food is always amazing whether you dine in or get it to go . This is one of the few places that you can trust that if you order it to go will be just as amazing. They always pack it well and never forget any item that comes with it . This is genuinely one of my favorite spots here . Ps. You need to ask for Margie as your server . She’s so nice , and inviting . You will absolutely love her 💗

This place is honestly so good. I have lived in Miami for almost 10 years and this is my favorite fish place in Florida. The place was cozy and all the staff were so nice! I recommend you get the raw oysters and the clam chowder. Their hand rolls and sushi are very fresh; the grilled octopus (appetizer) is also delicious and cooked to perfection. Will recommend to everyone in the area!

Great seafood and beautiful restaurant. Heard it’s been here for more than 20 years. The waiter is very friendly and gave us great recommendations, and we ordered grilled octopus, oyster, mahi, and blackened grouper. All the dishes have been great! Definitely recommend this place to everyone! (As long as you’re not allergic to seafood please🤪)

Had a delightful delicious meal there tonight. Though being a Friday of a holiday weekend it would be slow in service but the opposite! Fast service. Our server… sweet lady with red glasses was delightful. Coconut shrimp, conch fritters and lobster bisque…delicious!!

Food was great, service good fresh fish and also a sushi 🍱 bar to choose from. Highly recommended. If you want to pay a little extra you can sit in the back and eat listening to live music.

I used to eat here all the time when I lived in town, and not much has changed. Sit in the middle room for the best experience. Lobster bisque and fish spread are basically the best anywhere. The rest of the menu is solid as well.

The BEST Restaurant in town. From the time you walk in they attend to you. The food was excellent fresh, and hot good quality. Our server Nina was so nice, and courteous she went out of her way to make sure we were pleased with our food & service. For sure coming back to The Fish 🐬House.😉👍

Excellent Dolphin melt sandwich. Truffle fries were fantastic. The aroma of truffle hit me as soon as my waitress brought my meal. This place is consistent. Huge and varied menu which also includes sushi. Has remained consistent thru the years. It is a BEST BET for fresh seafood dining in South Florida. If you live in the Kendall suburbs, it is a gem right in your backyard. Enjoy.

American seafood restaurant, with very fresh fish and delicious food. And a good service. I recommend the linguini with Alfredo sauce and shrimp 🍤 also mahi-mahi fingers

We stop at The Fish House everytime we are in town. The oysters were fresh and tasty as well as the Fried Oysters PoBoy. The French Fries were so crispy and hot! We will keep coming back for sure!

This Joint has an extensive seafood menu, ranging from sushi to raw bar to creative masterpieces like the Mahi Mardi Gras; Perfectly seasoned Mahi served over rice and topped with a healthy portion of crawfish. The spicy tuna roll was fuego, the lobster bisque was excellent, and the service is on point. I went back the very next day for a Caribbean grilled Octopus that is phenomenal!

Positive Vibes Only. I've only got good things to say about this spot. They've got a little bit of everything. Huge food selection that seemed very fresh. Friendly staff. Wacky décor. Yummy food. Reasonably priced. Even their sushi is good. I got the Caribbean Rice Bowl with Ahi Tuna. What I couldn't finish in the restaurant reheated perfectly in a skillet at home. Reccomended!

Great atmosphere with better service. All of their food is delicious. Haven’t tried a plate I don’t like yet! Their fish dip is something amazing.

This was my first time dining @thefishhousemiami and it was quite wonderful. First, let me start with the waitress. Her name is Yolanda and she is absolutely great at her job. She knew the menu very well and was able to guide me in the right direction to order some very delightful and delicious 😋 food. Second, the food. As you can see in the photos below the food was cooked perfect 👌 and the taste 😋 was on point. The texture and seasoning was just as how Yolanda described it to me. Lastly, the ambiance was easy on the eye and perfect for end of night photos 📷 to bring home the night. I would recommend this spot to anyone locals or tourists. And make sure to ask for Yolanda to make the experience that much more amazing.

Love the fish here. My family and I have been loyal customers here for years. The Chilean Sea Bass is cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.

This place never fails me! My go to meal is the fried snapper filet, but last night I decided to try the blackened grouper filet and was not disappointed! So soft and delicious. Thanks to Avelino for all the recommendations and taking care of us! Also to the busser that always brings the fish dip out, I didn't get his name, nice guy. We will definitely be back soon.

Looks right, smells right and most importantly tasted right! The Miami Fish House is a no thrills , old school restaurant that does it right. I do not know much of the history of this place but as soon as you step in it feels nostalgic and welcoming. Fun and funky atmosphere with a relaxed vibe awaits inside with every wall and ceiling adorned with eye catching ware from massive Tiger sharks to Pirate flags and a friendly staff that welcomes you. There is a fresh fish counter that greets you as you walk in and you can almost smell the saltwater these fish were swimming in just hours ago. A Moderately priced menu with a massive selection from traditional favorites such as Fish soup and fried shrimp to fresh lobster tales and local caught fish fried, grilled blackened or broiled to your liking. While I have to be honest I am not a seafood lover, this place may have helped convert me over to the “ Fin “ side. I mean if you are going to eat healthier it might as well be delicious. so if that is your logic as well, then head over to the Miami Fish House and get healthy. I mean crispy friend shrimp are healthy , right? Check this spot out next time you are in Miami, worth it!

I love this local place. Been there dozens of times. Always good food. However, I paid $28 last week to sit in for the entertainment, and it was awful. Can't charge a cover for a second-rate karaoke singer. Service has diminished. Hope they pick it up.

A real fish house. Wish it was on the water. Friendly service and food was tasty with more options than I could take the time to read. Server was helpful in giving me an option to to do a blackened fisherman platter. It might be easier if they simply said all seafood can be prepared in the 4 options and these are our specialties. Look forward to another visit.

This restaurant is amazing !!! Serving fresh fish, sushi, and the best Lobster Bisque truly amazing. I had the Caribbean Mahi Mahi, a wonderful dish served with Shrimp 🍤 on top with a delicious sweet chili sauce. Delicious!!! My wife had the Jumbo Sea Scallops wrapped in 🥓 bacon. I got a bite and just "wow" !!! Angela was amazing and made us feel right at home. Our waitress Erica provided superior service and was very nice. The entertainment was Ira Sullivan with an ensemble of other great musicians including Brev, Mark, Emily, Crystal ... What a wonderful show !!! A dining experience with exceptional jazz entertainment 🎶 . I highly recommend this establishment, AAA +++ Reservations are needed. I love The Fish House !!! 🐟

I don't know how others rate restaurants but I go by quality of food, service and price. The food was top-notch and no need to run for the restroom. The service was as good as it gets, meaning from the time the waitress got the order until it hit your table was only a few minutes. The prices were on par with any local mid to upper end restaurants. I definitely recommend and I will definitely be back.

All the food I’ve ever had at the Fish House is fresh and delicious.Service is always great. Catering ordered from Fish House is always abundant and prepared exactly as requested. Angela is very dedicated to using the best quality ingredients, seafood and meats. This is why their burgers are the best in town, great steaks too!

Last night I attended The Fish House with a group of friends and the experience that we had was completely appalling. I have never received such awful customer service from a restaurant in my life, not to mention the complete and utter disrespect that my party and I received. When we arrived there for dinner, we were in high spirits but that all changed rather quickly. After being seated, the waitress came out to our table, and we ordered drinks and oysters, which came in a reasonable time frame, but everything went down hill from there. One of the girls in our party was not having oysters, and she was ready to order her meal before the rest of us, so she wouldn't just be sitting there staring at us while we were eating. However, the waitress completely disregarded that fact that she was ready to order on several occasions. Finally, after we all ordered our meals, five out of the six dinners came out in about a half hour but then when the last one came out it was wrong. I had ordered lobster tails in a garlic sauce with a side of corn on the cob and tostones. The food that was brought out was shrimp in a garlic sauce and no sides. I obviously told the waitress that the food was wrong and she said that they would remake it. Additionally, one of the meals was missing a side as well, but at that point, we did not even say anything because the restaurant was very hectic and we were hungry. So I sat patiently waiting for my food as everyone else ate their dinners. An hour later, there was still no dinner for me. Everyone was finished eating, and some were even in a rush to leave, but I haven't even received the food yet. At that point, I was a little aggravated, so I got up and went to speak to the manager (from my understanding her name was Chairo) who didn't even acknowledge me and the fact that there was an issue at our table. She just stood there a nodded her head. She then went to speak to our waitress, and they told me the food would be coming out shortly. Another 30 minutes went by, and the food never came. Two people in our party wanted to pay their bill and get to-go boxes, which took an incredible amount of time as well. I again asked to speak to the manager at which point she was just completely ignoring me and rolling her eyes. Then I again asked the waitress where my food was, and she said that she had canceled the order since she heard me saying that I did not even want it anymore. First off, I was telling that to my friends amongst my table and never to her so I do not understand why she would cancel the order without speaking to me and basing her decision off of eavesdropping. Still, no manager at this point and the waitress is completely flustered and has lost touch with reality and messing everything up, including the checks that we told her were going to split in a particular manner. What do you know, still no dinner for me though? At that point, I told the waitress to tell the manager that I was not paying for my meal. The manager never came to the table to offer us a round of drinks or even an apology and acted completely unprofessional. Almost two and a half hours later I received my lobster tails without the sides I had ordered. The waitress said they were coming out but as predicted they never came, and I, unfortunately, got up and left to eat somewhere else. I will never be returning to this restaurant, and I am disgusted with how my party and I were treated. To top it off, right before my friend was exiting the building the waitress had the nerve to tell her that she would have to cover the difference in the bill for the meal that I refused to pay for because of the lack of hospitality and respect that I received. Lastly, the icing on the cake was when I was standing outside, and another family had walked out and said that they never received their food and waited for over an hour and now are going home hungry. Word of advice, stay away unless they get new management!! P.S. If I could leave 0 stars I would, as this place does not even deserve the one star!! Update: As you all can see, all bad reviews for the restaurant are followed by insulting and rude replies from the owner. I will certainly not be apologizing as I did nothing wrong and my only mistake was visiting this disgusting place you call a restaurant, more so disgusting because of the staff and owner herself.

It was my first visit here. The food was pretty good and the prices were reasonable. Our waitress Maria was very accommodating and made our lunch party fun. I would have given it a 5, but when I was leaving, Maria (our waitress) was busy so I asked another waitress for a doggy bag. This creature almost bit my head off and then left me standing there like an idiot in the middle of the restaurant. I am not sure I will return for fear of that particular waitress.

Absolutely amazing food, especially the lobster bisque! The vibe was super relaxing and had a wonderful experience I’d definitely recommend and go back!!

Each time we come to this place there’s a problem with the food and we have to way for Long time We are here now been waiting for 50 minuets drink a bae of wine and food is no ware to be find Husband is so upset Omg

Great food, atmosphere, and prices with a speedy and friendly staff. All that plus live music from amazing musicians. Definitely a must go to Miami spot!

The prices, food selection and the superior service the best...Our server checked on us at appropriate moments, unlike other places were they interrupt you just because they are told to do so. I wish I had our server's name I would give her credit for our pleasurable visit. ..It was my wife and I, our receipt shows us leaving at. 8 :48 pm... we will be back with our family....

Was at this restaurant last night with my grand for Jazz night as she had to do a paper for school. The was delicious and everything was fresh. I loved it!!!!! Will recommend going there is a seafood lover although they have other non-seafood items also. Servce was awesome! Go and enjoy.
