Review Zak The Baker- Wynwood Bakery And Cafe - Miami

This restaurant is located in the famous art district of Miami. When we came in the morning, it was already lined up!A cup of very delicious coffee. Each of us's breakfast was also very fresh and delicious. More importantly, you can walk around the art district after breakfast! These words on the street here are really very good works of art. We like it very much! The weather is very good, the streets are very beautiful, and you can see a lot of beautiful women!

What a gem restaurant. We went there at 1:30 without a reservation, hostess sat us in 4 minutes. The server introduced and got our drink orders and appetizer order. For drinks we got lavender iced latte and matcha iced latte. For appetizer we got bread butter and jam everything was so fresh and yum. We ordered our meals while we were watching this chef pulling out fresh loaves of bread from the oven across our table. Everything was so delicious and fresh. Before leaving we got the poem contest they are running for the month of October where you have to write a poem on Miami food for a free fresh loaf of bread. Service was on par and the tip was already included. No complaints. Highly recommend this place If you haven’t tried yet, please do you will not be disappointed.

We loved everything we ordered. The iced horchata coffee is a must try. The house salad dressing was next level. The BLT was classic and the tuna salad bagel was 6 out of 5 stars. We got here Monday morning and only had to wait for 10mins to get a table. Worth the hype being a Michelin Bib restaurant.

Great start to the day 🥐 A long time wynwood favorite spot! Great bread and pastries. Strong coffee and a variety of beverages with a nice vibe. Dine in and enjoy the music and friendly service or take away and enjoy at home. Indoor and outdoor seating

I love their very single type of sourdough breads. Hazelnut croissant was delicious. They made our Sunday breakfast delightful! Weekdays are better to go because Fridays and Sundays are always busy. Of course worth it to wait

Went for brunch. Had their frittata sandwich. Good but a little dry. Almond croissant was excellent. Lavender coffee was good but little Lavender taste. Great, fast service! It's consistent and good.

This was my first visit, and it was a to go order. Despite the long line we ordered and received our treats quickly and everyone was courteous. The spinach and artichoke boureka had a lovely flakiness, but was notably cold. The cinnamon roll was yummy. I’d go back and try other options.

We had two sandwiches. Mushroom toast was amazingly delicious. Frittata sandwich was good too. I liked salmon bacon. Bread was so good.

Ate here two mornings in a row (pics attached). Real tasty stuff—possibly the best french toast I’ve ever had, and I consider my own recipe to be very tasty! Also, they have delicious delicious fresh orange juice. Just divine. Nice service and the staff overall seems happy to be there. I see lots of smiles, and while I’m sure every job has its ups and downs, it’s nice to see people working in a positive environment. Everyone stays busy and picks up tasks as needed, which is indicative of a well managed team. Their bread is delicious, but I found their pastry dough to be more bready than I like (as opposed to flaky). I’ve definitely had better pastry in Florida. Zak’s croissants are good but not great, in my opinion. Their everything bagel was very tasty with a strong garlic and onion flavor. Not in my top 3 best bagels, but definitely solid. Be sure to walk towards the back to check out some old-school breadmaking in action. They run a pretty cool operation. Unsolicited advice: The mushroom toast, while tasty, could be improved. I’m a mushroom lover but these mushrooms were very chewy and squishy. They weren’t cooked to where they were crispy or browned at all, which I feel is a must in this kind of use-case. I make a good mushroom toast myself and I think: 1) This dish could benefit from fresh mushrooms (I could be wrong but I think Zak’s uses mushrooms that are dried and then rehydrated) 2) Spend extra time to brown the mushrooms. Maybe sweat in a dry pan with no salt, until water is released, then add oil/clarified butter on medium-high heat and brown? This method could potentially be done in bulk during prep and then kept warm for service. Both steps would require more resources, but I think it could really transform this dish. This review is for the sake of great food and that’s all! This team has all my respect and I hope my feedback reflects that.

Wowowow this was a great meal. The place is a bit chaotic/busy but the food is truly exceptional. I tried the nova bagel and it was great, but more importantly, the challah French toast might have been the best I’ve ever had. Pastries were great too- I really enjoyed the babka. Highly recommend getting a reservation to avoid a long wait!
