I had the pleasure of staying at Hacienda de Mesilla this past weekend and wow, is all I can say. We checked in on Thursday night and the GM brought my luggage upstairs (what service!) the room was well appointed and there were a ton of special touches like the comfy robes and locally sourced bathroom essentials. The veranda was a nice touch with wide couches and tables, I snuck out there the following morning to do some work while drinking coffee.
The hotel doesn't have breakfast but that's okay because they give you vouchers for two really great restaurants in town (The Bean M-F & La Posta Sat -Sun). So we went to have breakfast at The Bean and I went to get a facial (at Spa 232, go treat yourself to this wonderful place if you have a chance!) Then went back to the hotel to lay out by the pool. The cabana is a wonderful touch, the pool was clean and cool. The lounge chairs were comfortable and the shade was nice. Had some lunch at the hotel, the Crab Stack is to die for especially after a spa day. My sister had the Caesar salad and she said it was awesome! We go back to the pool and a server came out to see if we needed anything and we ordered drinks and a dessert which arrived promptly and the skillet cookie was to die for!! Can I say enough about the amazing service?
That night we went to La Poata, which was amazing! Came back to the hotel or a drink and margarita pie! So good!!! Back to the room, the bed is so comfy and welcoming, I had one of the best nights sleep!
The next day we got up, went to breakfast and then spent time with family in the area. We all went to the hotel for lunch and I had the green chili cheesesteak sliders...another amazing dish. Spent time with family some more and took a nap and did some shopping. We had dinner that night at the hotel as it was a bit of a celebration. I had the filet and lobster, friend had the cowboy cut ribeye, another had the sea bass and another had the filet with gargonzola sauce. The restaurant brought a digestive in between the main entree and dessert and I thought that was a great touch! I had the cream brulee and another couple had the Mesilla Mud, another amazing food treat!
To sum it up here's the pro's:
Food!! (Crab stack, Margarita Pie, sea bass, green chile cheesteak sliders, risotto, crab cake. I guess you could include drinks too.. great wine list, tons of beers on tap and an awesome green chile apricot margarita)
Service (Elena at the bar and everyone from the front desk to the GM was phenomenal)
Comfortability with elegance (the decor, linens, furniture is all elegant but comfortable. Nothing feels out of place and everything has a purpose but is beautiful.)
Cons: it's so far away from Dallas (where I live )
Go stay there and eat there if you get the chance, you won't be disappointed!
Hacienda de Mesilla is the most charming place in Las Cruces. The Green Chile Apricot Margarita is a must try, and the food/service is phenomenal. The mountain view from the rooftop is just the cherry on top. Don’t hesitate to stay here, the staff is amazing!!
Went there on Saturday, 10/28/17 for a late lunch. Service was great and the food was amazing. I had the Lobster tacos with Brussels sprouts....so full of flavor and so good! My husband had your green chicken enchiladas and my son had your blue corn shrimp enchiladas and they both were very impressed and happy with their choices. The word my son kept saying throughout the meal was "wow". Highly recommend you all go and experience it for yourself! We will be back!
We have been twice, took great friends second time n they loved it too! Service and cuisine are excellent! Blue Crab Enchiladas are to die for! Succulent, generous servings and very reasonable prices! My wife must eat gluten free and she has found delectable choices. We are both looking forward to exploring more of their extensive menu...
Excellent food and wonderful service in a beautiful setting. I highly recommend booking a room and enjoying the fabulous views from the deck
The new owners have put together a charming dining room with a Spanish Colonial flare. Very good food, actually excellent to Las Cruces standards. Wait staff very attentive.
Hoping they will be consistent
We will become regulars if they are!
Excellent hotel, great restaurant, and wonderful roof top with really good view of the Organ Mountains. What a great go to destination in Mesilla.
We had our family all here for dinner... absolutely amazing!!! The food, service and atmosphere were incredible. Highly recommend!!!!
The experience was beyond my expectations!!! Wonderful Staff and the food was to die for! Thank you I will be back
Super delicious. Excellent service. The crab enchiladas were to die for. Really impressive...especially for las cruces.
Excellent sea bass. Huge portion! Blue Crab green chile enchiladas were amazing, as was the corn casserole. Service was prompt & friendly, but not overbearing. Loved the atmosphere, too.
We came for the entertainment on the patio
and some appetizers so cannot comment on the hotel.
The service at the restaurant was amazing and our server was very friendly and attentive! Food was also very good as well as well made bar drinks. We will definitely be back 💫
We ate at the restaurant. The pork shop plate was excellent. The dish was well presented with all the fixings. The arrachera plate needed improvement, perhaps due to the meats cut on the thicker side. The waiter took care of us with no hesitation. Because of this, we will be back when in the area. The service was excellent. Thank you for taking care of us during our visit.
I was recently doing a road trip around the American Southwest and found out that this hotel was previously featured on Gordon Ramsay’s Hotel Hell under the name Meson de Mesilla. Since I would be passing through Las Cruces anyway, I figured I would break journey here and see how it’s changed.
The staff who helped check me in were really friendly. The decoration of the hotel was very nice, since I visited around the holidays they had Christmas decorations up and the vibe was really nice. The rooms were nice, but there are two things about them to note. One, they are (or at least the room I got) was quite small. It wasn’t a problem for me since it was just me in the room, but it might be a little cramped for two people. Two, there is no mini fridge in the room. Again, not a problem for me, but might be one for you. The room I got had a very nice balcony view of the outdoor patio and pool, which was nice. I also did hear and see someone singing on the patio, but unlike that Hotel Hell lady, this person was actually good.
Unfortunately I got there too late and left too early to eat at the restaurant, but I have heard it is very good. I’ll have to try it next time I’m in town.
The room was a little bit on the pricier side for what I’d expect in a smaller city like Las Cruces (I paid $137 for the night I was there) but given that it’s a boutique hotel in the middle of a part of town that seemed to have a lot of nice restaurants and hotels, I guess I can understand why.
What a beautiful spot! Inside and out was so lovely, a feast for my eyes, the food was OUTSTANDING! Service was 10/10 I recommend the calamari!
Only ate dinner at the restaurant, did not stay in any of the rooms. Food was good, had the nacho app and the Queso. When ordering though, we (as a large group) felt deceived into what was included and what was an up-charge. Originally ordered the house marg, but was told by the server that it “isn’t good, so let me make you one myself”. Not mentioned that it was an upgraded charge. I probably would’ve ordered it anyway, but would’ve preferred knowing about the additional expense.
Another person in our group wanted to try some local whiskey, and was told he didn’t even have enough for a shot and was still $10. There was some other instances that felt a little deceitful, but not going to go into every instance.
Again food was good, just felt like there could’ve been more transparency on pricing by our waiter.
The food, service, and atmosphere on the patio were fantastic. The tuna appetizer was amazing, and the crab enchiladas were outstanding. Highly recommend.
I have only eaten in the restaurant but it's great! This is a nice boutique hotel and that is nicely decorated and maintained. I would recommend Tom anyone to stay there. It's super close to Messilla and near other restaurants so if I was visiting the area, it would be perfect. It also have a very nice pool area .
This is a review for the cantina. The burger was amazing. Possibly the best option in town. We added green chile and cheese to it and it was incredible. Also highly recommend the chocolate martini. Service was efficient and management was friendly.
If in Las Cruces and want a relaxing, easy stay, Hacienda de Mesilla is it. A small hotel sits on top of an adult-centric restaurant/cantina. Rooms are good size and have quality amenities and stylish bathrooms. Rooms also have a continuous balcony with covered outdoor seating and area heaters that connects to the rooftop seating space of the cantina. Nice pool (not heated) with large deck and stage for gatherings. Food - really good, drinks - really good.
Ate at the restaurant tonight. Super cute! Good food and great service. Wonderful New Mexican ambiance on the patio. Love it!
Only eat there. Great food, service, and atmosphere. One of the best locally owned places in town. Comfortable patio with great view.
Great place to get away. Walking distance Old Messilla (shops, dining, vendors [Sundays only], live music. Everything... is within walking distance. This place has really good food (restaurant inside hotel) great outdoor patio with nice views of the organ mountains. Hospitality is great!
Two Casita rooms that have the feel of an Airbnb. More than four dining areas inside and outside !
We very much enjoyed our generational getaway. The outdoor areas are beautiful, and service in the restaurant and front desk are great.
