Since I was on my own for dinner I decided to get some BBQ, since my wife is not a BBQ fan. I was surprised the place was not crowded, it was Saturday evening, but sitting there I found that they do a lot of take out. Since I couldn't decide between brisket and pulled pork I went with the 2 Meat Sampler and had both chopped beef brisket and pulled pork. They were already out of the corn souffle, and I was not the only one disappointed, so I had cole slaw and potato salad, both were better than average. They have three sauce choices, along with Chipotle Tabasco, Sweet, Spicy and Sassy. The Sweet was very sweet, the Spicy was medium spicy and the Sassy was kind of a vinegar, maybe with some mustard. Interestingly, the Sassy was my favorite, since vinegar is not my thing. Anyway, the food was very good. I have had better Texas BBQ in Texas, but for Mesa I might be back. Friendly people. They play country western music, which is not my fave at all, but it fits the place.
Outstanding!!! Great BBQ, very generous portions. Price is reasonable. This is a family owned and run establishment and they really care about their food and customers. It is a bit of a whole in the wall location, but those places generally have the best food.
Superb! I have eaten a lot of BBQ and this is some pretty good stuff. All you East Valley Mesa people.....you won't find any better. The BIG BRYAN with Cole Slaw......drum roll......MONEY!!!!
Return visit from Chicago from 7 years ago. Big Tex called my name and was awesome! Emma was all by herself for the lunch rush and handled everything the best she could. Everyone in line was understanding and decided the meat was worth the wait! We were NOT disappointed!!! Very pleased!
I wanted to try this bbq place a few blocks from my house that I have never been to. I brought home some good Texas chicken, sausage and brisket barbecue 🍖🍗 from Allison's Texas BBQ restaurant! I ordered the BIG TEX, which comes with three different kinds of meat. Unfortunately they did not add in my sausage link, but the chicken and brisket were very good! I wish I would have tried their sausage. I wanted to be happy with what I ate! 😁 Overall, I definitely was happy! 😋👌
So the BBQ was alright the sauce was good they called it sassy sauce vinegar and mustard base. The side that I had was cornbread with corn in it it was all right. When I went to the soda machine they have my favorite red cream soda I'll be going back because they have that red soda. The staff that work there were wonderful very nice.
Good smoked meats, sides were very tasty as well. The prices are fair, they fluctuate from day to day with the market price of meat (I believe). Employees were friendly and knowledgable. Three very different sauces to try: spicy, sweet and sassy.
We are from Texas, we love our meats. That being said: Allison’s Texas BBQ was Delicious!! The brisket was juicy, fall apart tender and just delicious! The BBQ Ribs were fall off the bone good! The sausage was small but delicious! The pulled pork, potato salad and beans were good!! But the BBQ spicy and sweet sauce were a little too sweet for us. Other than that we give this place 4 stars!
Me and my wife were craving BBQ, we have a few spots we like to go to such as Joes Real BBQ in Gilbert and Rudys BBQ in Mesa. But we were in the mood to try something different, it ended up being the best gamble either of us have made.
Wife had the 2 meat plate with sliced brisket and pulled pork with the corn souffle and beans. I had the Bryan sandwich with corn souffle and beans. It was absolutely the best BBQ we have had in a long time.
I have always said Joes Real BBQ had the best beans out of all the different BBQ places we have tried but these are just as good. Also that corn souffle was to die for.
Being it was our first time and with the current circumstance with the virus we did choose to have it delivered and it was delivered earlier than expected plus the customer service from the time of placing the order to us receiving the food was top notch.
My wife when we were finished said "Well I guess we have a new BBQ place to go to". Thanks for the awesome food and service!!
I do some backyard smoking back home in Calgary, Canada. I was visiting the Mesa area and a buddy of mine, who is originally from Texas, recommended Allison's - he said they do great Texas BBQ. And he was right!
I had the two meat sampler with brisket and ribs, with coleslaw and beans as sides. I received their three sauces and garlic toast, onions and pickles to complete the order as well. It was all terrific! The brisket was awesome, the ribs pulled off the bone, the sauces were great, as were the beans, and the coleslaw was awesome! And all for a very reasonable price.
I must add, the customer service was top shelf as well! All around, it was a great experience and I definitely will return the next time I'm back. Well done, Allison's!
The food was pretty good, especially the cornbread type dish that they had. The ribs were fresh off the smoker and delish! The owner was quite friendly and came over and talked to us for a bit.
What a nice Texas BBQ we found here in Mesa NW corner of Main & Power Road it's a must try absolutely the best hospitality we've add since coming to Mesa. And the food was delushious. Brisket was beautifully done, ribs were my favorite. They gave us a sample of the corn souffle, it was so good we grabbed 2 sides to go.
The service (enthusiastic, fast, kid friendly) is what made our experience 5 stars. The corn souffle (not pictured) was not what I would call a souffle, but it was delicious!
