Review Steak And Stone - Mesa

Stopped in during non-prime hours. Took almost 10 minutes before someone acknowledged our presence (and I couldn't find anyone). After that it was a nice experience. A view watching airplanes come and go on the runway is always fun. Make sure you get at least one stone cooking option. Good prices, eventually great service, and good food. When you're looking for somewhere new to explore, don't be afraid to stop in and try this place!

We had a large party, and the staff did a good job to settling us down and giving us instructions. Ordering was super simple and of course the foods amazing, if it’s not then it’s the cooks fault, in this case, you lol. Very nice experience, never tried anything like it. Pro tip, don’t wear nice clothes because it’ll smell like oil from all the people cooking. If you’re getting the salmon, add butter so it won’t stick to the stone. Lastly don’t skip on the dessert, it’s so good after a steak.

You get to experience the unique experience of cooking your steak on a stone that's 500 degrees as you watch sunset and small planes take off and land. One of the best experiences ever.

Fantastic birthday lunch for my son after visiting the museum. He got the steak and cooked it to his own liking. The owner was so sweet and made sure our food and experience was the best! We will be back.

It was busy on Saturday night, so a bit of a wait but the food was worth it! My hubby LOVES being able to heat up/cook his food as he goes so that every bite is the perfect temperature for him. The fully loaded salad with salmon and balsamic vinaigrette was delicious, and so was the giant brownie with ice cream I got for my free birthday dessert! We only ate a few bites of that and took the rest home. One of our favorite places to eat.

This place did not disappoint. Be ready to cook your own steak on a blazing hot rock right in front of you. You pick the cut and they bring it out with a hot stone for you to cook it on. If you are looking for a refreshing drink (alcohol) I highly recommend the blueberry sour.

Unique dining experience with some meals served on hot rocks, and YOU then cook it at the table yourself! The filet bits dinner was mouth watering, so tender and flavorful. Menu has a lot of entree choices, with delicious sides to choose from. And the peach cobbler dessert is out of this world! Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable staff. Don't miss out - you will want to go back here again!

We enjoyed our anniversary here, the food was good. The steaks were tasty, but nothing overly amazing. We had the 12oz ribeye and steak bites along with side salad, Mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes mushroom medley and a side salad. The salad was fine, the Mac and cheese was tasty but got cold really quick as well as the mushrooms. The mashed potatoes were great. We finished the meal with the brownie ala mode. It was a large portion of brownie and ice cream. I think if the brownie was brought out on a hot stone as well that would be amazing.

Local eatery, with such a friendly atmosphere and an even more amazingly unique concept. In regards to the 🦅 eagle scout merit badge, at the steak and stone you can opt to have your steak 🥩 brought to you raw with a hot rock 🪨 in order to cook your steak on! They also supply seasonings as well. The rock 🪨 that is used is indigenous to AZ and I’m told all the food is sourced locally as well including the beer on tap! Many of the staff is family and or also Eagle Scouts themselves! And the owner, bar tender and staff all took time to chat and make sure I was comfortable! 👏 bravo steak and stone!

Went here for the first time. Ordered the steak medallions with garlic mash potatoes & mushroom medley. The food was excellent. It was a nice experience cooking the steak on the stone. Our server Aaron was phenomenal, he didn't miss a beat! It's a shame they are closing. Must go before the 16th of July.

Definitely suggest going for dinner only. The meat & cheese appetizer was mediocre at best. Not really much flavor or freshness. The good thing was definitely the steak. Even with no seasoning added to the steak, besides salt, it had incredible flavor and was a great cut. Did enjoy the brewey beer and mixed cocktails they have. Confused by the uniform but the staff overall very friendly.

We were a large party (17) and they put us in their large, private area. Our waitress, Kristie, was very nice and did a great job keeping up with all our orders. This was our family's first visit to this place and everyone was very happy with their entrees. The price point was very reasonable and the quality of steak was good. The entree side portions were decent, we all liked the sweet potato waffle fries, but the creamed corn side was too sweet. We really liked the bread pudding desert, but the peach cobbler was not good, I left 75% of my desert on the plate, it was all canned peach filling and hardly any crust. My son said that his brownie desert was too dry, but the ice cream helped. The hot stone cooking at your table made the dinner experience unique. The two kiddos who had the kids meals said they liked their food, too. We would return, the service was great and we'd try more entree selections, maybe just skip desert or stick to the bread pudding. :) One more suggestion: sharpen the steak knives please, they were very dull, and trying to cut the cooking-raw steak on the stones was extra difficult.

Boxed sides: To start it's a fantastic experience, the steak is cooked just the way you like it (because you get to cook it) but the rest leaves a lot to be desired. They also did an update with the decor/inside and it is much better than I remember. However, the negatives are that the sides are worse than basic, we got the Mac and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. I'm pretty sure they are the generic box/powder version you can get at the store (yes they are truly that bad). When I'm paying$40 to cook my own food, I'd expect the few items actually prepared by the kitchen to be at the very least on par with lesser places like Denny's or Red Robin, jaw dropping amazing would obviously be even better. It is clear that people only come here once (the server didn't know what to do when someone told them they had been there before) and it's clear why. Very minor changes would go A LONG way to get repeat customers. 1. Fix the sides, I can get better options at Chili's for a fraction of the cost. 2. Offer a little spice rack with 10-20 spices people can really get creative with, put your logo on it and sell them! 3. Butter: have you heard of butter on steaks? Offer butter with steaks on the side, whatever. Also drinks were way too strong (not alcohol content but the sweet/sour flavor) that you'll only drink 1 (if you even finish it) and typically I'm all for that flavor.

Our first experience and it will not be our last. What a great night. Our server, Brady, was outstanding. She explained everything on the menu and how everything worked. She was pleasant, fun, and knowledgeable. Three of us had sirloin steak that we cooked at the table and it was tender and had great flavor. Two in our party had the smoked meat plate and were very happy. The salad bar and hot bar had very good options. And then we topped it off with a brownie, served on a hot plate, with ice cream. WOW! Can't wait to go back and we will be asking for Brady to be our server again!

OMG this place is the absolute best! My wife took me here as a surprise for our anniversary, I was totally amazed. I had no idea I would be cooking my own steak on a stone at my table. I had a 6 oz filet and it was THE BEST steak I ever had. I ordered sautéed mushrooms as my side. They were even tastier when I cooked them on the stone too. The salad bar was great, the ranch dressing was so good. Tony was our waiter, but we had about 3 or 4 others come to the table to make sure that everything was good for us, the staff is very attentive. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back.

I didn't care much for the sides buffet, but the steak and experience of cooking it yourself was amazing! I suggest putting the hot plate and stone more towards the center of the table. This way you don't have to reach over it to eat your salad or sides while your meat cooks. Service was great, the staff was all friendly and helpful! Loved that the owner was walking around checking on people! We'll be back!

Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Very nice view over Falcon Field. The 16 oz Ribeye was the best steak I've ever had. I did hear a few tables around us have trouble with their orders, but everything was great for us. Will definitely come back.

First time here. It will not be the last. Ever bite of my steak was hot. I really can't imagine a better way to eat a steak. It was so tender and the house seasoning was a great addition to the flavor. Worth every penny and our deserts were homemade and delisious. I haven't had that much fun eating in long time. Great job and see you soon! Thanks for being open at lunch too.

It was so good. Our third time to the restaurant and our server Stephanie was fantastic and always had a great smile. A must go if you have never been to Steak n Stone.

I have been to Steak and Stone many times and it always delivers. The kitchen had issues with getting the stones hot enough but after a few tries they finally got it right and my steak was amazing. My favorite ace to eat these days

My daughter and I enjoyed the ambiance, but we were in a booth and out of the way of traffic, which did get rather tangled. We chose the filet mingon and to have them cooked in the kitchen. They were both perfectly cooked and very tender. One complaint was the grill apparently needed cleaning because there were charred bits of food on the surface of the meat which tasted horrible. After trimming that off, the meat was good and my dog enjoyed the trimmings. Loved the bread! Didn't like having to open all those little packages of butter for the perfectly baked potato. The kitchen and wait staff were excellent! The hostess could have been more friendly. Looked at us as if to say "what do you want?" In fact we initiated the conversation by telling her we had called in to get on the wait list. She diligently looked and verified that we were indeed on the list and the other lady seated us. Incidentally, there were only a few patrons in the dining area as it was only a little after five. After that it filled up quickly. Would we come back? Sure, but we would cook our own food. Looked like fun.
