Hana Japanese Restaurant

We got the croquette, fried tofu for appetizers to start, and then I got the Tom Yum. The soup was very heavy on the fish sauce/fishiness, which can be pungent. It was delicious but I think you really need to balance this particular seasoning with everything else so people don't get nauseated. It has a very *smack you in the face* smell. Anyway, my meal friend was delighted with her avocado and cucumber rolls as well. Overall, very good.

The atmosphere here is lovely, especially for an establishment in a plaza. The inside is cute and quiet, and they have an assortment of Asian snacks on a display for purchase. The quality of the fish was very good. We got an assortment of rolls, sushi, sashimi, and a couple of their specialty rolls. The octopus sushi was perfect. My favorite speciality was the Korean roll, unfortunately it only came with four pieces. That being said, my only complaints would be that the portion sizes were small and that some of the presentation was a little sloppy. The rolls were all quite small, and the sashimi was half as thick as what is standard and was cut poorly. The staff was friendly and just the right amount of attentive. It is definitely a family friendly establishment and has an expansive menu for any picky eater. Overall, I had a good experience here.
