Longhorn Steakhouse

Staff/ facility: Friendly, welcoming & clean Nicole served us tonight. Her smile is beautiful & contagious. 10/10 Food: initially we were served a cool loaf of bread. We asked for a warm loaf & recieved it shortly after. Chicken salad was 💣 Delicious and juicy! Ribeye steak (pictured below) was over cooked the first time around. We asked for medium well-done (just a little pink). 2nd ribeye (pictured below) was PERFECT. 8/10 Service: 9/10 when we decided to send the steak back we flagged the manager (Kathryn) She understood our complaint handled it right away. I appreciate that 💕 Over all not the absolute best dine in experience but definitely not the worst.

Lunch today, Monday, 4/11/22, had me worried when we went in at 1:35. We didn't see many employees but a good number of diners. We were seated in about two minutes and ordered lunches at a few minutes to 2 O'clock. Erica was our server in the best possible way. Quick and polite. Delicious food was delivered in about 15 to 20 minutes, not too slow at all considering today's conditions. Erica was obviously covering more territory that she should have been, but she had no complaints, and neither did we. Time in to time out was short of an hour and a half. Not bad. As others have noted, when you are ready to eat, you're very aware of time passing , but the friendliness, courtesy , and very good food makes it well worth your time. Bottom line, it's not fast, but it is really good. Plus you get to meet some very good employees.

I wish the stars were out of 10, because that's what my past experience was. My girlfriend's birthday was last Friday, and she wanted to have LongHorn for her birthday lunch/dinner. We had been to this location a few times before, and never had Darnell as our waiter. We had him this time around and he is EASILY the BEST person to have. He had such an upbeat and bubbly personality and was serving so many other tables and booths, in the general area of our booth. I gave him what I hope was a very generous tip, but he deserves all the money that LongHorn can give. Fantastic service! And yes, the food is great. It has yet to be a bad experience with food and service.

We did the online check-in. At that time there was a 40-50 minute wait. That didn't do much. Once we arrived, 40 minutes after we checked in, there was still another 40 minute wait. It was busy as would be expected the Saturday before valentine's day, but the estimations on wait times were way off. You could tell the staff at the door was doing everything they could. Food was very good and our server was great as she was busting her butt waiting on several tables. You could could almost tell that they were a little short staffed for the night but our waitress didn't let it show. She was friendly and attentive. But let me say that the woman who started clearing our table was quite rude. It was almost like she had worked at a truck stop diner the way she was reaching across the table taking plates and glasses and interrupting our conversation. She acted as though she wanted to say that your check is on the table now get the hell out. On the fence if I want to go back the the Merrillville location.
